05/10 Saturday RWC Tips and Preview
The Rugby World Cup has come to life in the last 2 weeks. Japan’s shock win vs Ireland was the highlight so far. However, Uruguay’s win vs Fiji was almost as big a story. The Group Stages are drawing close to a conclusion and there are some important matches this weekend. Check out our 05/10 Saturday RWC Tips and Preview below…
06.15 am Pool D: Australia v Uruguay
This Group was blown wide open by Uruguay when they shocked Fiji. The Fijians secured a bonus point win vs Georgia on Thursday, so Australia must win here to regain 2nd spot behind Wales. Their narrow defeat to the Welsh leaves them in a precarious position in this Pool. However, they will fancy their chances of securing bonus point wins in their final two games, starting against Uruguay.
These teams last met in the 2015 Rugby World Cup and The Wallabies won 65-3. The Aussies are a best price of 1/200, while the Uruguayans are as big as 100/1. Michael Cheika has made a few changes but the likes of Beale, Kuridrani and To’omua all start and have bags of experience. Uruguay put in a huge effort v Fiji then suffered a bruising defeat to Georgia, so fatigue could be a big issue. We are recommending a bet on Australia -50 points at 1/1 with Skybet.

05/10 Saturday RWC Tips: 09.00 am Pool C: England v Argentina
After their defeat to France, this is a do or die contest for Argentina. Los Pumas will be bitterly disappointed that their comeback faltered vs France. They were workmanlike against Tonga, but this is the match that they know will make or break their World Cup hopes. Argentina have failed to win in their last 9 attempts vs England, last beating them in 2009. They have met twice in the World Cup and both were close matches. It could be another tight affair in Tokyo.
England have yet to truly impress in this World Cup even if they did beat Tonga and USA easily. This will represent a much sterner test and it will be fascinating to see how this unfolds. England have the best team on paper and many fancy them to go all the way. The Argentinians will be massively up for this though and you can guarantee the Falklands will feature in their team talk! England will probably edge this, but it should be close and we recommend a bet on Argentina +6 at 13/5 with William Hill.
05/10 Saturday RWC Tips: Argentina +6 @ 13/5 William Hill
11.30 am Pool B: Japan v Samoa
Japan produced the biggest shock of the 2015 World Cup and they repeated the trick vs Ireland. After that stunning victory the Cherry Blossoms are in control of the Group and they won’t want to slip up against Samoa. However, this match has the look of a potential banana skin as the Samoans are dangerous when in the mood. The Japanese cannot afford to take them lightly, even if Samoa have not impressed so far.
They beat Russia comfortably in their opener but produced a very poor performance vs Scotland. They failed to register a point in that match and the likes of Nanai Williams, Jack Lam and Ahsee Tuala will want to restore some pride for Manu Samoa. Japan will probably have too much for them, especially in front of a passionate home crowd. However, we think Samoa will produce an improved display and they can cover an 18 point spread at odds of 5/4 with Betfred.
