We finally landed a nice winner last weekend with England beating New Zealand for us at 13/5. It was a fantastic match and the intensity of the English tackling was a joy to behold. South Africa: Le Roux; Kolbe, Am, De Allende, Mapimpi; Pollard, De Klerk; Mtawarira, Mbonambi, Malherbe, Etzebeth, De Jager, Kolisi (C), Du Toit, Vermeulen.
Preview
This is probably not the final that most people imagined at the start of the tournament. England shocked New Zealand in the semi-finals with a brilliant display. They hit the All Blacks hard and their pack dominated up front. The backs had the time and space to play some sparkling attacking rugby and it was a seriously good performance. New Zealand’s only try came from an English error at a lineout, so South Africa might struggle to break them down.
The Springboks edged out Wales 19-16 in a tense and scrappy semi-final. The amount of aimless kicking in the game was frustrating to watch and that won’t do against England. However, the massive effort that England put in against New Zealand may take a toll physically.
South Africa are a strong, teak tough team and if they can keep it tight early they could tire the English out and then sling it out wide to Kolbe and co late on. We tipped up South Africa to win the Rugby World Cup at 9/2 and we are keeping the faith. South Africa to win by between 1-7 points is our Rugby World Cup final tip at odds of 4/1 with Paddy Power.
