2024 Baltic Sea Darts Sunday Preview

Now, it is time for James Punt’s 2024 Baltic Sea Darts Sunday match previews. He landed another hat trick from four tips on Saturday night, here’s hoping for more of the same this afternoon.

Michael van Gerwen vs. Andrew Gilding

Gilding has won seven of his last ten matches, but he isn’t in great form, six seeing sub 90 averages. His record against MVG is 2-6, but he has won the last two, including a 6-4 win just last month. His other win was, of course, that 11-10 win in the final of the 2023 UK Open.

These two have played six best of eleven leg matches and four have ended 6-4. MVG doesn’t get the pace of play he prefers against Gilding, and let’s face it, Gilding is strange. He can just weird players out.

Van Gerwen smashed up Wessel Nijman last night, but this is very different. A noon kick off against Gilding. I give Gilding a chance of making a match of it.

2024 Baltic Sea Darts Sunday Tip: 1 point over 9.5 legs @ 2.50 with Skybet, BET365

Luke Humphries vs. Ross Smith

This could be tasty. Smudger is playing good stuff on the Euro Tour. He reached the quarter final of ET3, the final of ET4 and the semi-final of ET5. He beat the in-form Luke Woodhouse 6-4 last night, averaging 99.

Humphries was back to his imperious best on Thursday night and backed it up with a 6-1 and a 103 average against Sebastian Bialecki last night.

Their H2H record is 7-2 to Humphries and he has won their last four. All last year. They have played eight best of eleven leg matches and seven have seen more than 9.5 legs.

Franz Roetzsch vs. Danny Noppert

Roetzsch pulled off a surprise win vs. Josh Rock yesterday. His 91.73 average is about the top of his range and Rock was rightly furious to lose. Can he pull off another shock win? I doubt it.

Noppert beat Raymond van Barneveld 6-5 last night, averaging 100. He does tend to lose at the business end of events, but Noppert is in good form. He is the 1.18 favourite and this makes no appeal betting wise. No bet.

2024 Baltic Sea Darts Sunday Tip: no bet

Damon Heta vs. Mike de Decker

Two players who spoiled the party yesterday. Heta beat Gian van Veen 6-4 and averaged 104.54, his best performance for a few weeks. A flash in the pan, or a return to form? Hard to say.

Mike de Decker has strung two wins together and both against two of my outright selections. What a git. He wasn’t great against Ratajski last night and is unlikely to see off Heta if the Aussie can hang on to his form of yesterday.

Heta is 2-0 vs. De Decker and I expect him to make that 3-0. However, odds of 1.53 make no appeal.

2024 Baltic Sea Darts Sunday Tip: No Bet

Ritchie Edhouse vs. Ricardo Pietreczko

Edhouse scraped through his match with Jonny Clayton last night. At least it shows he can win ugly as well as blowing people away. He has a great chance to make the quarter final as Pietreczko is in poor form.

The German is out of his depth given his recent form, he has lost seven of his last ten. He beat a local qualifier 6-0 last night but it was no sort of match. Hopefully Edhouse smashes him up, as he should.

2024 Baltic Sea Darts Sunday Tip: 2 points Edhouse to win @ 1.65 with Ladbrokes

Rob Cross vs. Stephen Bunting

The highlight of the afternoon session. Two top players in good form. Cross is super consistent scoring wise but fails to win as often as he should. Bunting is great, until he gets close to the final.

Cross averaged 102.59 in a 6-2 win over Maik Kuivenhoven last night, another strong performance. Bunting had little problem beating Andy Baetens 6-3 yesterday. It was an OK performance but he didn’t need much more.

Their H2H record is 9-3 to Cross. They are both averaging 96 over the last 12 months and if they both play to their form, we should get a very close match, with Cross winning.

Daryl GURNEY vs. Ryan Searle

Superchin has barely got out of first gear in his first two matches. Two 6-3 wins sounds good, but it wasn’t. He was just playing two very out of form players. He was a bit better against Dirk, but he will need to pull his finger out today, or his hopes of making the World Cup will remain just that.

Searle had yet another match which went to a deciding leg, beating Wattimena 6-5. That was his sixth deciding leg in his last ten matches, and nine were over 9.5 legs. He has won five of his last ten and his form is hard to pin down.

Their H2H record is 6-2 to Searle and of course five of those matches required a deciding leg, including a 6-5 win for Searle in ET3 earlier this year.

2024 Baltic Sea Darts Sunday Tip: 1 point over 9.5 legs @ 1.91 with Boylesports
2024 Baltic Sea Darts Sunday Tip: 0.5 point Ryan Searle to win 6-5 @ 6.50 generally available

Madars Razma vs. Joe Cullen

Razma has won both his two matches 6-5 and he played well against Chisnall last night. When he gets his range on the treble 19, and stays there, he is deadly. For some reason he tends to go for treble 20 first, when his accuracy on the 19 is so much better. Strange.

Cullen beat James Wade 6-3 and averaged 96.83, a solid performance, He has won five of his last ten matches and he has averaged everything from 104 to 73. I don’t want to get involved in matches with a player like that. No bet.
