Our darts betting expert James Punt has already posted his outright preview, you can get his free tips here. His 2024 Belgian Open Darts Friday night tips are below.
Mike de Decker vs. Chris Landman
De Decker has been playing well in 2024. His win rate is a very healthy 74% and he has hit some huge averages. There was a 113 against Willy O’Connor in a Euro Tour qualifier and in his match against Chris Landman in another qualifier, he averaged 102.
Ultimately, De Decker usually disappoints. He looks to have it all but stringing good runs together is a weakness. However, his seasonal average is a very impressive 97.5 which is top drawer.
Lacks Firepower
Landman doesn’t have the firepower of his opponent and he has lost his last two matches against De Decker 6-3. He played well in their last match, averaging 95.4 and checking out at 75%, but still lost 3-6.
Landman’s seasonal average is just 87.1 and there is a gulf in class here. Landman beat De Decker 6-1 last year and averaged 98 in that one, so he has raised his game against De Decker in the past.
De Decker is the 1.33 favourite, reflecting their 2-1 H2H record. De Decker is in better form, is the better player and he should come through this to the delight of the home fans. I’ll have a small bet on another 6-3 win.

Martin Schindler vs. Joe Cullen
Schindler has lost six of his last ten but he has been playing some very decent stuff. At last weekend’s UK Open, he beat Gerwyn Price 10-9 and probably should have beaten Luke Littler, but missed doubles meant he went down 8-10. He averaged 98 in both matches and showed similar form in PC3 & PC4.
Joe Cullen did not play in PC3 & 4 and 2024 has not gone well so far. Like Schindler, Cullen has lost six of his last ten matches and shown very little consistency. He has only played six matches in 2024 and his withdrawal from social media means we don’t know why, but something seems amiss.
Joe Cullen is 4-3 against Schindler but they have only met once in the last two years and Schindler won that 6-3.
If Schindy can keep up the good form he has shown in the last couple of weeks, he can win this.

Jeroen Caron vs. Gabriel Clemens
Clemens has made a poor start to 2024, playing just six matches and losing five. He reached the semi-final of the Players Championship Finals last November but since then, he has only won two matches.
Caron failed to win a Tour card and is playing on the Challenge tour where he has played six matches and won just one. His scoring is all over the place and this is a good draw for Clemens, probably.
The German Giant should win this easily, but his confidence must be in the bin. He is very lucky to draw a local qualifier who averaged just 85.4 across his five qualifying matches yesterday. That said, he won five matches in a row and he will be very happy and have the crowd on his side.

James Wade vs. Raymond van Barneveld
James Wade has not started 2024 well, losing seven of his last ten matches. He has been surprisingly inconsistent and you cannot be sure what you are going to get.
Barney has won seven of his last ten and while he hasn’t been shooting the lights out, he has reached a couple of Players Championship quarter finals.
Their H2H record is 24-23 to Barney, and since Barney returned after ‘retirement’ it is 2-1 to RVB. Both his wins were 6-3 and their last four matches have all ended 6-3.
