2024 German Darts Sunday Night Tips
It was a mixed afternoon for James Punt but he still managed to bag a couple of nice winners. He is back in action again this evening. Check out his 2024 German Darts Sunday Night Tips below.
Michael Smith vs. Cameron Menzies
It was a good performance from Menzies to beat Mike de Decker 6-4 yesterday. It was a high quality match with both players at their best. Menzies averaged 98.16 and that was his seventh win from his last ten matches.
Smith is one of our three outright selections and this was always going to be a tricky opening match for him. He has won six of his last ten matches but he has scored well in defeat and he should take some beating.
These two have only met once. That was a Euro Tour match back in 2019 and it was Menzies who won that 6-2.
Smith is the 1.62 favourite, Menzies 2.50. Hopefully Smith can get the win and into the business end of things tomorrow, but I will sit this one out.
2024 German Darts Sunday Night Tip: No Bet
Danny Noppert vs. Gian van Veen
Gian van Veen beat the in-form Raymand van Barneveld 6-5 in a good contest. That makes it six wins in his last ten matches and he is playing well enough, if lacking some consistency.
Noppert has also won six of his last ten matches, and he too is playing well enough. All ten have seen 90+ averages, albeit four of them only just.
Gian van Veen is 2-1 vs Noppert, including a 6-3 win this year and a 6-4 on the Euro Tour last year. The market is finding it hard to split the two with Noppert a 1.91 shot, Van Veen 1.95. It has the look of a close match.
2024 German Darts Sunday Night Tip: 1 point over 9.5 legs @ 1.91 with Hills, Boylesports
Gerwyn Price vs. Peter Wright
Just when you thought you had escaped the Premier League, we get Price vs. Wright.
Snakebite was impressive when beating De Sousa 6-3 last night. The Special One played well, averaged 96, but Wright averaged 103 and at his best.
Wright has won six of his last ten matches and he also has a recent win over Price, a 6-5 win in the PL a couple of weeks ago. Wright can still do it, but can he do it back to back?
Price has lost six of his last ten matches, despite averaging over 97 in every one. He has lost four deciding legs, and those form figures could have looked very different. That said, losing close matches is a drain on his confidence and he has lacked the spark that got him to where he is.
Two players who are hard to pin down doesn’t make for a great betting match. Wright’s last three wins against Price have all been 6-5. Could Price lose another deciding leg?
2024 German Darts Sunday Night Tip: 0.5 point Wright to win 6-5 @ 9.00 with Hills
Luke Humphries vs. Luke Woodhouse
Another all Luke tie and it is Humphries who is the 1.22 favourite. Cool Hand is the best player in the world, albeit he struggles against the other Luke.
Woody beat Zonneveld 6-5 yesterday. It was a tough match and a good win for Woodhouse, ending a run of three straight defeats. He has won five of his last ten, but he is playing with a good degree of consistency. His problem is that his scoring is consistently a lot lower than Humphries’. Woodhouse averages a lot of low 90s, Humphries low 100s.
Humphries is 6-3 against Woodhouse. He has won their last three matches, and won them big. 3-0, 6-0 and 6-1. That 6-0 was a Euro Tour match last year. Woodhouse missed seven doubles and it was a bit of a car crash.
They have played seven best of eleven leg matches and five have required less than nine legs.
2024 German Darts Sunday Night Tip: 1 point under 8.5 legs @ 2.25 generally available
Damon Heta vs. Martin Schindler
Schindler had a very easy 6-1 win yesterday against an underwhelming Vítězslav Sedlák. Heta will be a different kettle of fish. Heta wins a lot of matches, he wins a lot of Euro Tour matches, and he is the 1.62 favourite to win another.
The Heat has won six of his last ten matches, but there have been three sub 90 averages in there, so he is not rock solid, and he faces a hostile crowd. The crowd were quite partisan last night, and the beer is strong.
Schindler is likely to need the crowd’s help. His seasonal win rate is just 44% and he has lost five of his last ten matches.
Heta is 4-3 vs. Schindler and on the Euro Tour, it is 2-1 to the Aussie. Both his wins were 6-5 and both were quarter finals, in Germany. Heta held up in close matches, with big crowds against him.
Aussie grit to triumph again? Heta is the 1.62 favourite, with Schindler 2.38. I will go with another close match, and other 6-5.
2024 German Darts Sunday Night Tip: 1 point over 9.5 legs @ 1.95 with Boylesports, Fitzdares
2024 German Darts Sunday Night Tip: 0.5 point Heta to win 6-5 @ 7.00 with Betfair
Michael van Gerwen vs. Jeffrey de Zwaan
I remember the days when The Swan was the next big thing. A fantastic player who was going places. But then he got a shoulder injury, had surgery and has never been the same since. De Zwaan has won five of his last ten matches and has a seasonal average of just 91.79.
Van Gerwen has had his own shoulder problems but he has looked OK in recent matches. He has won six of his last ten matches and while he has been inconsistent, he should still have too much for De Zwaan.
MVG is 6-2 vs. De Zwaan but they have not met since 2020. Since then, De Zwaan has dropped considerably in the rankings.
MVG is the 1.20 favourite and he should justify those odds. No bet.
2024 German Darts Sunday Night Tip: No Bet
Dave Chisnall vs. Dimitri van den Bergh
Van den Bergh made a real meal of beating Gabriel Clemens 6-5 last night. He had the crowd against him, struggled on the doubles, but thoroughly outscored the German. If he can polish up his doubling, Chisnall will have his work cut out.
Van den Bergh has won seven of his last ten, and won the UK Open, but he still isn’t totally convincing, so there is no guarantee he will score well again.
Chisnall has won eight of his last ten and won Players Championship 6 a couple of weeks ago. He is still a little bit inconsistent. I very nearly backed him outright, but he has a tough draw and this is a tough opener, or it could be.
Their H2H is 7-4 to Chisnall. They have only played one Euro Tour match and that was in 2017 and Chizzy won 6-0.
Chisnall is a standout 1.91 with Betvictor, Van den Bergh 2.10. This makes no great appeal betting wise.
2024 German Darts Sunday Night Tip: No Bet
Jonny Clayton vs. Joe Cullen
Cullen did a proper job on Andrew Gilding last night, averaging 99 in a 6-2 win. He has won six of his last ten matches but his form has been inconsistent.
The Ferret has been showing signs of his form returning. He has won seven of his last ten matches but he too has been very inconsistent. He has hit four sub 87 averages in those ten, and it is those poor performances which outweigh the good ones, despite seven wins.
Their H2H record is 10-8 to Cullen, but Clayton has won the last three.
Joe Cullen is the 1.83 favourite, Clayton 2.10. I was happy to back Cullen against the struggling Gilding, but it is hard to know what we will get from both these players and I’ll sit this one out as well.
