2024 NFL Regular Season GW2 Preview & Picks – JK
2024 NFL Regular Season GW2 Picks
Jan Keys carried his excellent college football form into GW1 of the NFL regular season. He has four more bets for this weekend’s action, get his 2024 NFL regular season GW2 picks below.
NFL WEEK 2 Picks
It seems the Ratings are running hot at the moment and I will try to keep this fantastic start to the season going both in College and NFL Football.
Thursday Night Football
BUFFALO (1-0) @ MIAMI (1-0) – Line: Miami -1.5; Total Points: 48.5
Last Results: Buffalo 34 Arizona 28; Miami 20 Jacksonville 17
I have two Ratings Systems running and both make Miami marginal favourites. Miami’s star receiver Tyreek Hill was in the spotlight (and in handcuffs) earlier this week and he still managed to open the season with 130 yards receiving. Also, I agree with the Total Points number of 48.5 so we’ll leave this game alone. No bet.

SUNDAY MATCHES
NEW ORLEANS (1-0) @ DALLAS (1-0) – Dallas -6.5; Total Points 45.5
Last Results: New Orleans 47 Carolina 10: Cleveland 17 Dallas 33
Both these two teams got off to excellent starts to the season with convincing victories.
I tipped New Orleans to cover last week and they did so comfortably. Last year’s end of season numbers were good for the Saints as Dallas faltered, on that alone I think the line is too high but there are better bets elsewhere this weekend.
No Bet
TAMPA BAY (1-0) @ DETROIT (1-0) – Detroit -7; Total Points 51.5
Last Results: Tampa Bay 37 Washington 20: Detroit 26 LA Rams 20
Detroit are one of the dark horses to go to the Superbowl and proved their worth with a good opening day victory against the L.A. Rams in Overtime. Tampa Bay had an easier match but dispatched Washington reasonably comfortably. I’m very tempted by Tampa +7 but the Total Points number looks a tad over as I have 47.5 and that will be my selection.
2024 NFL regular season GW2 Pick: TOTAL POINTS UNDER 51.5 @ 1.91
INDIANAPOLIS (0-1) @ GREEN BAY (0-1) – Indianapolis -3.5; Total Points 41
Last Results: Indianapolis 27 Houston 29: Philadelphia 34 Green Bay 29
The big news for this match is that Green Bay’s star quarterback Jordan Love is out injured. I believe the line would’ve been Green Bay -6.5 if he was fit, so Love is rated 10 points for this match. The Total Points would have been 46 points and now is trading at 41. I’ve thought hard about the scenario and I’m none the wiser. No bet
No Bet
NEW YORK JETS (0-1) @ TENNESSEE (0-1) – N.Y. Jets -3.5; Total Points 41.5
Last Results: San Francisco 32 NY Jets 19: Chicago 24 Tennessee 17
Both teams were given hard opening matches and both performed okay in defeat. Tennessee held Chicago to 148 total yards of offense and somehow still conceded 24 points. The Jets are a better team than the Titans but they will still have to step up and show their superiority. Too close to call for me, no bet.
No Bet
SAN FRANCISCO (1-0) @ MINNESOTA (1-0) – San Francisco -6; Total Points 45
Last Results: San Francisco 32 NY Jets 19: NY Giants 6 Minnesota 28
Both teams will be happy they got off the mark early and won their first games of the season. The big news before the Jets match was that San Francisco were missing their star running back Christian McCaffrey, although the 49ers found an able replacement in Jordan Mason. I agree with the line and points so I can’t find a bet here.
No Bet
SEATTLE (1-0) @ NEW ENGLAND (1-0) – Seattle -3.5; Total Points 38
Last Results: Seattle 26 Denver 20; Cincinnati 10 New England 16
Seattle’s match against Denver went to form. The Seahawks were 6 point favourites and won by 6. New England had a surprise 16-10 win in Cincinnati. This was a good win for them, although the stats weren’t too exciting for either offense. I’m not a fan of either team and this match could go either way. What I do like is getting more than a field goal start, so I will go for New England with the 3.5 points spread.
2024 NFL regular season GW2 Pick: NEW ENGLAND +3.5 @ 2.00
NEW YORK GIANTS (0-1) @ WASHINGTON (0-1) – Washington -1.5; Total Points 44
Last Results: NY Giants 6 Minnesota 28: Tampa Bay 37 Washington 20
This is going to be a long season for these two teams. In my opinion, the Giants are marginally the better of the two but I’m not a fan of +1.5 as a number. I will skip this dire NFC East match up.
No Bet
L.A. CHARGERS (1-0) @ CAROLINA (0-1) – Chargers -6.5; Total Points 39
Last Results: LA Chargers 22 Las Vegas 10: New Orleans 47 Carolina 10
The Chargers are nothing special. They will probably have an even season, whereas Carolina are just awful and have lost their top defensive player Derrick Brown for most of the season. I was tempted to tip the Chargers at -6.5 just because the Panthers are really bad, but I just can’t rely on the Chargers to win by a touchdown.
No Bet
CLEVELAND (0-1) @ JACKSONVILLE (0-1) – Jacksonville -3.5; Total Points 41.5
Last Results: Cleveland 17 Dallas 33: Miami 20 Jacksonville 17
Week One was poor for the Cleveland Browns, losing at home to the Cowboys. The Jaguars also lost, but only by a field goal in Miami. Before the season started, I thought the Browns were marginally better than the Jaguars so this will be another tight match and as +3.5 is a magical number, I’m going to take the Browns.
2024 NFL regular season GW2 Pick: CLEVELAND +3.5 @ 1.90
LAS VEGAS (0-1) @ BALTIMORE (0-1) – Baltimore -9.5; Total Points 41.5
Last Results: LA Chargers 22 Las Vegas 10: Kansas City 27 Baltimore 20
Las Vegas’ season started badly, losing to the Chargers by 12, and I’m sure they aren’t looking forward to travelling to Baltimore for their second match. Baltimore opened the new season with an unlucky loss in Kansas with a last second toe out of bounds and missing out on overtime. I’m sticking with my opinion that the Ravens are the best team in the League and I feel they will win this match up comfortably.
2024 NFL regular season GW2 Pick: BALTIMORE -9.5 @ 2.38
L.A. RAMS (0-1) @ ARIZONA (0-1) – Arizona -1; Total Points 49.5
Last Results: Detroit 26 LA Rams 20: Buffalo 34 Arizona 28
These are two teams who seem to be on the up and this match up could go either way. The Rams have lost their WR Puka Nacua for half the season, which has moved the line a couple of points in favour of the Cardinals. I do think the Rams will have a good season and if I had to pick a match selection it would be the Rams. No bet, but it will be a match worth watching.
No Bet
PITTSBURGH (1-0) @ DENVER (0-1) – Pittsburgh -3; Total Points 36.5
Last Results: Atlanta 10 Pittsburgh 18: Seattle 26 Denver 20
The Steelers started the season with a road trip win in Atlanta and are looking to take another scalp this weekend. Denver performed to form in defeat in Seattle and will have a tough season picking up wins. The 3 point line sounds about right. These defenses look better than the offenses so this should be a low scoring match, although that is reflected in the line. No bet.
No Bet
CINCINNATI (0-1) @ KANSAS CITY (1-0) – Kansas City -6; Total Points 47.5
Last Results: Cincinnati 10 New England 16: Kansas City 27 Baltimore 20
On paper, the line seems very generous for the home team. Cincinnati started the season losing at home to lowly ranked New England, whereas KC, the Superbowl Champions, beat a strong Baltimore Ravens team. For me this match is a minus -7 match. It’s only one point difference to the line, but it is a big one point.
As I would prefer the Bengals to win, I think I will sit this match out, although if I were forced to have a bet, I would probably favour the Under for the Total Points. However, this is another no bet match.
No Bet
CHICAGO (1-0) @ HOUSTON (1-0) – Houston -7; Total Points 45.5
All the pre-season talk was about Chicago’s rookie QB Star Caleb Williams and although the Bears won on Week 1, he had an absolute shocker. He has come out and said he will be better this week but he has set himself a low bar.
Both these teams were lucky with Week 1 victories but when it comes to QBs Houston have an impressive one in CJ Stroud. The line is set quite high at -7, probably based on Week One QB performances, and the Bears have also picked up a couple of “key player injuries”. Although I expect Houston to win, the 7 point spread just doesn’t look worth taking on.

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
ATLANTA (0-1) @ PHILADELPHIA (1-0) – Philadelphia -6.5; Total Points 46.5
Last Results: Atlanta 10 Pittsburgh 18: Philadelphia 34 Green Bay 29 (in Brazil)
Philadelphia opened their season with a trip to Brazil and a win in a good offensive match up against the Packers. I have 2 rating systems; last season’s is tipping Atlanta and this season’s is tipping the Eagles.
I’m not sure I can yet rely on the Eagles to cover such a high number, however tempting under 7 may look. I also don’t trust the Falcons +6.5 so sadly, this is a Monday night match I’m going to leave alone
