2024 NFL Regular Season GW7 Preview & Picks – JK
2024 NFL Regular Season GW7
Jan Keys went 1-1 with his prop bets on Thursday and his NFL record this season now stands at 19-11 He is back with more bets this weekend. Check out Jan’s 2024 NFL Regular Season GW7 preview and picks below.
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (1-5) @ JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (1-5) in LONDON
Vegas Line: Jacksonville -5.5; Total Points 43
My Rating: Jacksonville -4; Total Points 48.7
This has been another tough season for the Patriots and although they lost easily last week to Houston, the positive was a change of quarterbacks. Drake Maye came in for Jacoby Brissett and gave New England their highest yardage of the season and he also rushed for 38 yards.
Questions over the fitness of Maye and RB Rhamondre Stevenson would sway my opinion on this match. If both play, then I would favour the Patriots.
The Jaguars Return to Wembley again after last week’s match defeat against the Chicago Bears. I’m not sure I would like to back a team who are 1-5 at -5.5 for this match up. They may be better than New England but I haven’t seen much that resembles a good side.
NO SELECTION
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (3-3) @ ATLANTA FALCONS (4-2)
Vegas Line: Atlanta -2.5; Total Points 50.5
My Ratings: Atlanta -6.5; Total Points 48.2
Seattle travel to Atlanta with a 3 game losing streak, whilst their opponents are on a 3 game winning streak. Seattle’s big problem is their running game, or should I lack of a game, last week they had 22 carries for just 52 yards. Seattle seem to be struggling at the moment and this match up isn’t going to help.
Atlanta seem to have hit form and with QB Kirk Cousins throwing well and their double act of Rushers Robinson/Allgeier putting up good figures it’s hard to see Atlanta not covering the 2.5 line, which may move up to 3 by gameday.
2024 NFL Regular Season GW7 Tip: ATLANTA FALCONS -2.5
TENNESSEE TITANS (1-4) @ BUFFALO BILLS (4-2)
Vegas Line: Buffalo -8; Total Points 40.5
My Ratings: Buffalo -11.5; Total Points 44.2
Tennessee are a team struggling to get results, with their only win coming against a Miami team playing their 3rd choice QB. The Titans’ biggest problem is their passing game and again, it’s likely to struggle here. As much as 8 points may look tempting, but it really isn’t value.
The Buffalo Bills are coming off a close Monday Night match and will need to get things going again pretty quickly. One bit of important information is the Bills have acquired Wide Receiver Amari Cooper to add to their offense. I could be tempted by the Bills -8 but this being a short week for them, I will pass.
NO SELECTION
CINCINATI BENGALS (2-4) @ CLEVELAND BROWNS (1-5)
Vegas Line: Cincinnati -6; Total Points 42
My Ratings: Cincinnati -2.5; Total Points 46.2
Cincinnati recorded their second win of the season with a low scoring victory at the New York Giants. They haven’t been playing too badly, with close matches against Kansas and Baltimore showing they can live with the big boys.
Cleveland have lost 4 in a row and return to their home stadium after 3 unsuccessful road trips. The last one saw them edged out 20-16 at Philadelphia. The line of +6 would normally seem too high but with a 1-5 start, the Browns have decided to trade away wide receiver Amari Cooper to Buffalo for a 3rd Round Draft pick for next season. They do have other wide receivers who are good enough to step up but the message it sends out is one of defeat.
NO SELECTION
HOUSTON TEXANS (5-1) @ GREEN BAY PACKERS (4-2)
Vegas Line: Green Bay -2.5; Total Points 47.5
My Ratings: Green Bay -5.5; Total Points 47.1
Houston continue to be a team with eyes on the Superbowl but this will be a big test for them. They come into this match with a strong offensive line up and QB C.J. Stroud will probably hit some big numbers. My only concern for the Texans is the one defeat on their card, the 34-7 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, and I believe today’s opponents are as good as or even better than the Vikings.
Green Bay, like Houston, are hot at the moment and know this is a must win game as they are in the strongest division where another defeat will scupper their Superbowl chances. I have a very high opinion of this Packers team and feel they are the real deal. My ratings suggest they are a better team than Houston and with home advantage, that makes them a selection for me.
2024 NFL Regular Season GW7 Tip: GREEN BAY PACKERS -2.5
MIAMI DOLPHINS (2-3) @ INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (3-3)
Vegas Line: Indianapolis -3; Total Points 43
My Ratings Indianapolis -4.5; Total Points 43.8
The Miami Dolphins are coming off a much needed Bye week as they have struggled without QB Tua Tagovailoa, who is still out for this match. So, at least they have had nearly 2 weeks to work out a game plan but it’s hard to see them scoring many points.
Indianapolis Colts have also had QB issues in recent weeks but this weekend they welcome back QB Anthony Richardson. Also back is star running back Jonathan Taylor. This team news should swing the match in the Colts’ favour.
2024 NFL Regular Season GW7 Tip: INDIANAPOLIS COLTS -3
DETROIT LIONS (5-1) @ MINNESOTA VIKINGS (5-0)
Vegas Line: Minnesota -2.5; Total Points 51
My Ratings: Detroit -1; Total Points 46.1
Before the season started, Minnesota were rated 4th best in this hotly contested division and with a first 5 matches that included San Francisco, Houston and Green Bay I would’ve bet my house they would be having a negative start to the season. Thankfully I didn’t. So far, the Vikings haven’t done much wrong but this will be another tough match for them.
The Detroit Lions have also made a good start to the season with their only blemish losing to Tampa Bay 20-16. Last week, the Lions went to Dallas and destroyed them 47-9 and they are probably the hottest team in the NFL right now. QB Jared Goff is 54/66 (82%) completions over the last 3 matches, this is amazing.
This should be a great match, I also feel 51 Total Points maybe a tad too high but I’ll leave this one alone.
NO SELECTION
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (3-2) @ NEW YORK GIANTS (2-4)
Vegas Line: Philadelphia -3; Total Points 42
My Ratings: Philadelphia -1.5; Total Points 40.8
Coming into this season, the pundits were saying forget about the disastrous end of last season, this Eagles team are much better than that and indeed the season started brightly, beating Green Bay in Brazil. However, since then this Philadelphia team haven’t been good. Thrashed in Week 4 in Tampa 33-16 and last week’s lacklustre win over Cleveland doesn’t give anyone much confidence.
The New York Giants may have been unlucky in a few matches this season and will say they have been unlucky, but they aren’t a good side either and also offer little confidence to backers. This match could go either way and I just don’t have a strong opinion.
NO SELECTION
LAS VEGAS RAIDERS (2-4) @ LOS ANGELES RAMS (1-4)
Vegas Line: L.A. Rams -7; Total Points 43.5
My Ratings: L.A. Rams -8.5; Total Points 46.6
It is safe to say Las Vegas are a terrible team and one with little confidence. Having changed their QB before last week’s match, they were hoping for a change of fortune but Las Vegas don’t have a rushing game, making it harder for the QB.
The L.A. Rams are coming off a Bye week and will be disappointed with how the season has started. They have had a tough run of fixtures and played okay in 4 out of 5 matches this season. Today they know that this is their easiest game of the season so far and a chance to rack up a big win. I doubt if covering a 7 point spread will be a problem for the Rams
2024 NFL Regular Season GW7 Tip: L.A. Rams -7
CAROLINA PANTHERS (1-5) @ WASHINGTON COMMANDERS (4-2)
Vegas Line: Washington -8; Total Points 52
My Ratings: Washington -14; Total Points 49.1
There are a couple of contenders to take Carolina’s position as the worst team in the League but the Panthers are holding firm. Carolina’s biggest problem is they concede too many points, an average of 33.8 per match.
Washington have been one of the surprise packages of the season with QB Jayden Daniels lifting this team with his passing and rushing. Although they got edged out in Baltimore last week, their numbers were very impressive. This team has come a long way in a short space of time. I not a fan of tipping teams giving away 8 points but this looks like a blow away match up.
2024 NFL Regular Season GW7 Tip: WASHINGTON COMMANDERS -8
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (5-0) @ SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (3-3)
Vegas Line: San Francisco -1; Total Points 47.5
My Ratings: San Francisco -1; Total Points 44.7
Last season’s Superbowl finalists have been a mixed bag so far this season.
The Kansas City Chiefs remain unbeaten with a 5-0 record, not bad from the World Champions. The Chiefs are coming off an important bye week as they prepare for this big game. The Chiefs seem not to have missed receiver stars Rice & Pachero too much and are a team that knows how to win ball games.
The 49ers have made a shaky start to the season with 3 defeats already. The 49ers main worry is whether RB Jordan Mason is fit to start. I’m sure the 49ers will feel that they have every chance to win this match, but I’m going to sit this one out as it’s too close to call
NO SELECTION
NEW YORK JETS (2-4) @ PITTSBURGH STEELERS (4-2)
Vegas Line: N.Y. Jets -1.5; Total Points 38
My Ratings: Pittsburgh -3; Total Points 37.8
The N.Y. Jets are coming off a short week but will feel unlucky they lost their Monday Night Match with Buffalo. The Jets, who sacked their coach after losing to Minnesota in London, have decided to bring in wide receiver Davante Adams from Las Vegas, which can only be seen as a positive.
Pittsburgh comfortably won last weekend 32-12 in Vegas so you would think everything is rosy but it seems not. Rumours coming out of Pittsburgh is that QB Justin Fields will be dropped and replaced by Russell Wilson. It’s fair to say Fields’ yardage figures haven’t been great these last 2 matches.
My ratings favour the Steelers but with Adams joining the Jets and Pittsburgh changing Quarterbacks, I think I will leave this game alone.
