2024 NFL Thursday & Friday Night Football

Here we GO! It seems like there’s been no football for an eternity but the NFL is finally back this weekend. Our gridiron guru Jan Keys got off to a fantastic start by going 6-2 with his College Football picks last week and he is looking to cause the bookmakers even more heartache this weekend. First up, we will look at this week’s two early matches, get Jan’s 2024 NFL Thursday & Friday picks below.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS VS BALTIMORE RAVENS 

Date & Time (UK): Friday 6th September 1:20am (UK).

Venue: Arrowhead Stadium.

We have a great seasonal opener with the Superbowl Champions, the Chiefs, against my top rated team, The Ravens. Mahomes vs Jackson on a Thursday night, what a way to start the ball rolling!

Even though this is the opening game of the season, it could still be a really important match for determining who might get home advantage in the playoffs. The Chiefs have an easier run of matches on paper this season and are favourites to take the Number One seed. This encounter is worth 1.5 wins in the Head to Head for the AFC.

I will look at the match total points market for our selection. When the teams met in the AFC Championship game last season the Total Points Line was 44 and KC won the match 17-10. Today the line is 46 points, and I think this could finish with a similarly low scoreline so I’m going to side with UNDER 46 POINTS as our opening bet for the 2024 NFL regular season.

Chiefs vs Ravens Pick: Under 46 points @ 1.80

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES VS GREEN BAY PACKERS

Date and Time (UK): Saturday 7th September 1:15am (UK).

Venue: Sao Paulo, Brazil. (Neutral Venue)

Another great match to get the new season underway.  The NFL takes itself to South America for the first time with a match in Sao Paulo and the Brazilian fans will get to see the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Green Bay Packers.

Last season, The Eagles won 10 of their first 11 matches and then it all went wrong for them. They limped into the playoffs after going 1-6 for their last seven games of the season. Their form and my rating for them them tumbled quickly.

On the other hand, The Packers improved as the season progressed and even won their Wild Card playoff against the Cowboys in Dallas 48-32, before just getting edged out by the 49ers.

The Vegas line here is Philadelphia -2.5 points, which is a bit surprising based on the end of last season’s form. My end of season ratings have Green Bay 4 points ahead, so my second selection of the 2024 NFL season will be GREEN BAY PACKERS +2.5 points.
