2024 Saturday Dutch Darts Masters Tips
Not a great first round betting wise, nor darts wise. There was little to entertain the crowd but we go again tonight to find the winner. These matches will be a first to six leg format and not a first to eight as I said in my preview. The semi-final and final will be first to eight, check out our 2024 Saturday Dutch Darts Masters tips below.
Luke Littler vs. Luke Humphries
We will be seeing plenty of these two playing each other in coming months. Humphries beat Littler in the World Championship Final but this is just a first to six sprint. Littler had the better of Humphries in the World Championship final, but Cool Hand had the stamina to win five sets on the bounce and win 7-4.
In this short format it looks far more comfortable for Littler, but Humphries will want to get another win over the player everyone is talking about. You could be forgiven for thinking that it was Littler who had won the World Championship, such has been the media coverage he has received. I suspect that has not gone unnoticed by Humphries.
Best In The World
It is fair to say that these are the two best players in the world right now. Humphries has won twenty one of his last twenty two matches, Littler twelve of his last thirteen. Both had easy wins against weak opposition last night, but both will need to bring their A-games tonight.
Humphries is the 1.80 fav with Littler 2.00. I can’t argue with those odds. It looks like a coin toss to me, so any value lies with Littler but I’m sitting this one out. No bet.
2024 Saturday Dutch Darts Masters Tip: No Bet
Gerwyn Price vs. Kevin Doets
The two best players from round one. Price hit his first ton plus average since the Grand Slam back in November. Price has now won six of his last ten matches but last night’s performance was much closer to the Price we have come to expect. He was 75% on the doubles and averaged 103.
Kevin Doets also played very well, averaging 98.3 in a 6-2 thrashing of the out of form Peter Wright. Doets scored very well and hit six 180s but he will need to improve his doubling as he missed fourteen and Price will punish any more of that.
Inconsistent Doets
Doets has not been the most consistent of players since he got his tour card but he does have a good A game. However, if Price continues to perform like he did last night, Doets A game may not be enough. The Dutchman only hit five ton plus averages in 2023, so last night’s 98 was very much his A-game. That suggests that he may struggle to repeat it.
These two have met twice before, both floor matches, and it is 1-1 with both games requiring a deciding leg.
Price is the 1.29 favourite with Doets 4.20. Doets scored poorly in his two previous matches with Price, averaging 83.5 and 91.3, but took Price to a deciding leg in both. Perhaps there is something Price struggles with against him? With the Crowd on his side, perhaps Doets can make Price work hard for a win.

Michael van Gerwen vs. Raymond van Barneveld
The crowd carried Barney over the line against Rob Cross. Cross was getting put off by the Barney Army, but we have come to expect that with these partisan crowds. Cross was the better scorer but his doubling really let him down, while Barney took his chances very well.
RVB has won five of his last ten matches and those matches have been marked by his consistency in averaging around 93, as he did last night. It was enough to beat Cross, who averaged 98, but it was all about the doubles.
MVG beat Van der Voort 6-1 last night and he has won seven of his last ten matches. Seven of those matches saw 98+ averages.
This will be a match where MVG is likely to outscore RVB and any chance of a win for Barney will once again be about better doubling. Van Barneveld is ranked 11th for checkout rate over the last 12 months and we know that MVG’s radar can switch off on the big doubles these days.
MVG Dominates H2H
Their H2H record is 42-20 to MVG and he has won seven of their last eight, but it was Van Barneveld who won their last match, a 6-3 win on the Euro Tour last July. They have met in eleven World Series matches and MVG has won eight.
Van Gerwen is the 1.30 favourite to win with Barney a 4.00 shot. They played twice in 2023, Barney winning 6-3 and MVG winning 6-4.
That 6-4 match saw MVG average 108 but in both, it was Barney who was markedly better on the doubles. If he keeps that up, as he did last night, he will be hard to keep off the score sheet and he should win a few legs and make a match of it.
2024 Saturday Dutch Darts Masters Tip: 0.5 point Michael van Gerwen to win 6-4 @ 6.00 generally available
Gian van Veen vs. Danny Noppert
Gian van Veen got a morale boosting 6-3 win over Michael Smith in the first round, but it was a poor match. Van Veen was just a bit better on the doubles and Smith was right off his game. The young Dutchman averaged just 90 and his form remains questionable, having lost seven of his last ten.
Danny Noppert played well in his 6-2 win over Nathan Aspinall. The Asp didn’t turn up but Noppert just got on with it and found the range on the treble 20. When he does that, he is a tough player to beat.
His form at the end of 2023 was strange. He was not playing great but winning with sub 90 averages, he seems to have misplaced his scoring boots, so last night’s performance will have pleased him.
These two have met twice before and each have won one match, both with 6-4 scorelines.
Noppert is the 1.83 favourite with Van Veen 2.00. I am a huge Van Veen fan but he hasn’t been in good form lately and wasn’t convincing last night. Noppert can win ugly and he was impressive last night.
