2025 Belgian Darts Open Saturday Night Preview
It all went Pete Tong for James Punt this afternoon. It has been a very difficult couple of days so far but hopefully, we can bounce back this evening. Check out his 2025 Belgian Darts Open Saturday Night preview below.
Afternoon Thoughts
Well this is the tournament from hell betting wise. They happen, but it would be nice if one or two of the selections could actually turn up. Hopefully they do this evening.
James Wade vs. Raymond van Barneveld
This will be their fifty fourth meeting and it is 25-24 to Wade, with four PL draws. Wade won both their matches in 2024. Five of their last six ended with a 6-3 scoreline. In 2023 and 2024 they met three times on the Euro Tour with Wade winning two.
Wade is the better player these days. He was the runner up in the UK Open last weekend and has won 73% of his matches this year.
2025 Belgian Darts Open Saturday Night Tip: 0.5 point James Wade to win 6-3 @ 6.40 with Livescorebet
Peter Wright vs. Matt Campbell
Matt Campbell had put his darts away and was getting ready to hit the airport but Cameron Menzies missed three match darts and the Canadian took his chance and stole the match. It was a very good match, the fannying about at the end excepted, and Campbell averaged 96.75. That was significantly better than his seasonal average of 92.40. He has won six of his last ten matches but his scoring is all over the place.
Peter Wright has lost half of his matches in 2025. He played really well against Luke Littler in the UK Open last weekend, averaging 101 and taking it to a deciding leg. Wright has hit two ton plus averages in his last three matches, with an 80.82 sandwiched in between.
That just about sums his game up. His last ten matches have seen four ton plus averages, and four sub 90. He is best left alone betting wise. No bet.
2025 Belgian Darts Open Saturday Night Tip: No bet
Gerwyn Price vs. Gian van Veen
Van Veen was OK in his 6-4 win over James Hurrell yesterday. His seasonal average is now 98.64. That is elite level. He has only won six of his last ten matches and he needs to get more wins with the standard he plays at.
Gerwyn Price is averaging 97.13 in 2025, so very close to Van Veen, and both have won 67% of the their 2025 matches. Price was appalling in his 3-6 loss to MVG on Thursday night. He missed fourteen doubles.
That was his third match in his last six to see checkout rates of under 33%. His game was plagued by poor doubling in 2024 and he seemed to have got over that, but maybe the wound has been re-opened?
Price Dominates H2H
Their H2H record is 6-0 to Price and he has handed out some real drubbings to the young Dutchman. Two 6-1s, a 5-1, and an 8-1. Van Veen has taken just three legs off Price in their last three matches.
On current form, Van Veen makes plenty of appeal, and if Price has problems on the outer ring, then Gian has a great chance to break his duck vs. The Iceman, but his heart must have sunk when he saw who he was drawn to play in round two.
Price is the 1.80 favourite, which is a great price for a player with a 6-0 H2H record. Van Veen is 2.10 and given how he is playing, fully justified, but against his nemesis? This is far too tricky a puzzle for me to solve. No bet.
2025 Belgian Darts Open Saturday Night Tip: No Bet
Dimitri van den Bergh vs. Martin Schindler
Schindler hit a 170 checkout in an otherwise scrappy performance in his opener. He was 1-3 down but found a burst of form to hit three legs of 14 darts or less. That knocked the stuffing out of Jim Long and it was a 6-3 win. Schindler has won six of his last ten matches but is lacking in consistency.
The crowd will be rooting for Dimitri, but he is still struggling for form. His seasonal average is just 91.00 but he has won six of his last ten matches. Those ten matches saw two ton plus averages, one of them 113.97, but five sub 90 averages and in his last match at the UK Open last weekend, he managed to average 70.90.
His last five games have seen four sub 90 averages so the chances are that we will see something similar. Van den Bergh lost in the first round here last year.
Their H2H record is 10-3 to Dimitri. And they have met twice on the Euro Tour with one win each and both ending 6-4.
Schindler is the 1.88 favourite, Van den Bergh 2.10. The money is coming for the German.
2025 Belgian Darts Open Saturday Night Tip: 1 point Martin Schindler to win @ 1.88 with Livescorebet

Luke Humphries vs. Mike de Decker
The home fans are likely to be disappointed here as well. De Decker has lost 50% of his matches in 2025 and he struggled to beat Euro Tour debutant Thomas Lovely 6-5 last night. It was just a 86.33 average, his fourth sub 90 in his last ten. He has played some good stuff but he is currently not playing as well as he was in 2024.
Humphries lost his quarter final match in the PL on Thursday and he has now lost two matches in a row. Crisis! A losing 102 average against Wade in the UK Open, and a 98.60 on Thursday. He’s gone to pot. Not really….seven ton plus averages in his last ten and he is still playing great stuff.
Their H2H record is 11-5 to Humphries and he beat the Belgian 6-4 in PC1 last month.
Humphries is the 1.29 favourite and it is not a match of any great interest, other than we are on Luke to win the title.
2025 Belgian Darts Open Saturday Night Tip: No Bet
Luke Littler vs. Ryan Searle
Ryan Searle has won nine of his last ten matches and is playing a lot of good darts. His 0-10 loss to Luke Humphries last week was the obvious blot on his copy book. He averaged 98.16 last night, his first decent display on a stage in 2025.
Luke Littler has also won nine of his last ten matches, and his only defeat was also to Luke Humphries. His seasonal average is just over 102 and even the in-form Searle is up against it here.
Their H2H record is 2-0 to Littler. Their first was in a Players Championship final, which Littler won 8-7. That is Searle’s natural habitat. The other was on the Euro Tour and Littler won that 6-2. The stage is his natural habitat.
Missed His Chance
Searle could give Littler a game, but he failed to do so in that Euro Tour match where Littler only averaged 90.99. Heavy Metal was just 12% on the doubles that day, and he may never get a better chance to beat Littler than he did then.
Littler is the 1.29 favourite and Searle, who is being backed, is 4.00. I am hard pushed to see a Searle win, but given that he is in good form, and had so many good runs in Europe last year, we may get a close enough match.
2025 Belgian Darts Open Saturday Night Tip: 1 point Ryan Searle to win +2.5 legs @ 2.00 with Betfred, Skybet, Betfair
Michael van Gerwen vs. Boris Krcmar
MVG is very much on the oppose list. He has lost six of his last ten matches and is struggling for confidence.
Krcmar played well in his 6-3 win over Josh Rock. Rock has been in great form and averaged 99.69 in defeat. Big Boris can do things like that.
Their H2H record is 6-1 to MVG but I am happy to take him on, even with a non-tour card player.
2025 Belgian Darts Open Saturday Night Tip: 1 point Boris Krcmar to win @ 4.25 with Livescorebet
Chris Dobey vs. Dirk van Duijvenbode
Dirk managed to get one over the line, beating Darius Labanauskas 6-4. It wasn’t that impressive. Labanauskas only averaged 89.62 and he missed three darts to take it to a deciding leg, and Dirk hates deciders. He can score with the best of them, but he doesn’t play well under pressure.
Chris Dobey has lost four of his last five matches and will be feeling a bit sore. His PL campaign is not going well and he is now losing outside of that event as well. He has a good chance to arrest that slide here.
Their H2H record is 7-4 to Dobey.
Both players have been involved a lot of close matches recently, and maybe both are finding getting over the line difficult.
