2025 Czech Darts Open Saturday Preview – JP
2025 Czech Darts Open Saturday Preview
James Punt continued in fine form this afternoon, firing in four winners from five bets. His 2025 Czech Darts Open Saturday preview is below.
Rob Cross vs. Krzysztof Ratajski
Cross is in decent form, winning seven of his last ten matches. He lost at this stage last weekend, a 5-6 loss to Suljovic. Cross has only played in six Euro Tours in 2025 and won three of his second-round matches, losing his last two, so that is not great.
Ratajski beat Raymond van Barneveld 6-1 yesterday, averaging 100.24, so he will be feeling good. Overall, he has won seven of his last ten matches and won two of his four second round matches on the 2025 Euro Tour.
Their H2H record is extensive with twenty previous meetings and ten wins for each. They met in ET4 earlier this year and Ratajski won that 6-4. Seven of their last nine best of eleven leg matches have seen over 9.5 legs.
2025 Czech Darts Open Saturday Tip: 1 point over 9.5 legs @ 2.10 with Betfair
Gerwyn Price vs. Nico Springer
Springer just about edged out Joe Cullen with a 6-5 win last night. It wasn’t a great match with both players averaging around 90. He will need to play better tonight. Springer has won seven of his last ten matches, but his averages have been on the low side.
Price has not played competitively since the World Series event in New Zealand three weeks ago and he had to miss last week with an infected hand, so he will not have even practiced very much. He could be a bit rusty. Before going on the jaunt Down Under Price had won ET9 and was in great form, hitting a lot of ton plus averages.
If he is even close to his form of a month ago, Price wins this with something in hand. But there is the risk that he could be a bit rusty.
Price is the 1.33 favourite, Springer 3.50. I will pass on this one.
2025 Czech Darts Open Saturday Tip: No Bet
Stephen Bunting vs. Kevin Doets
Doets lived up to the hype in his 6-4 win over Daryl Gurney yesterday. He averaged a ton to Gurney’s 98. His reward is a match against the very in-form Stephen Bunting. Doets has won six of his last ten matches and is playing well enough to give Bunting something to think about.
Bunting has won eight of his last ten matches, hit seven ton plus averages, with a low of 98. My only concern is that he has lost four second round Euro Tour matches from eight played. He can be a slow starter.
Their H2H record is 3-0 to Bunting and he is the 1.30 favourite. We are on Bunting outright and that is enough interest in this match for me.
2025 Czech Darts Open Saturday Tip: No Bet
James Wade vs. Nathan Aspinall
If there are some question marks about Price being a bit rusty, it must be a near certainty about Aspinall. He played his first match for six weeks last night and won 6-0. That was against a local qualifier and an 85 average was more than enough. Will that shake down have been enough to prepare him for an in-form James Wade?
Wade has won six of his last ten matches and gave Rock a good game in last week’s semi-final. Wade was runner up in the World Matchplay before the summer break and he is playing with a good deal of confidence.
Their H2H record is 11-11 with Wade winning their last four. Aspinall is the 1.91 favourite, Wade 2.00. I will go with Wade to be in better shape to win this one.
2025 Czech Darts Open Saturday Tip: 1 point James Wade to win @ 2.00 with Betvictor
Luke Humphries vs. Dirk van Duijvenbode
This has the potential to be good, but what version of Luke Humphries will turn up? He is another player who has not played for a few weeks. His last match was the final of the New Zealand Masters which he lost to Luke Littler.
Humphries went out in the first round of the World Matchplay and he is yet to get beyond the semi-final stage of any of the six Euro Tour events he has played in 2025. Humphries is the defending and two-time champion here, so it is an event he has enjoyed.
Ton Plus
Dirk averaged 101.43 in a 6-4 win over Cor Dekker last night. More of the same and he might get something out of Humphries. He has won six of his last ten matches but is not a model of consistency.
Their H2H record is 11-3 to Humphries and it is the Englishman who has won their last seven in a row, including a 6-1 win in ET3. That is pretty comprehensive.
Humphries just needs to frustrate Dirk and the Dutchman will do the rest. Humphries is 4-0 vs Dirk on the Euro Tour and he has beaten him in a quarter final, a semi-final and a final. Dirk will remember that final defeat in particular.
Humphries is the 1.62 favourite, with Dirk 2.50 and it is the Dutchman who is being backed. I will take the chance that Humphries has prepared well for his title defence.
2025 Czech Darts Open Saturday Tip: 1 point Luke Humphries to win -1.5 legs @ 1.95 with Betfred
Luke Littler vs. Cameron Menzies
This could be fun. Mad Menzies vs. the best player in the world. Menzies beat Ian White 6-3 and averaged 100.91. Something similar might give Littler something to think about, but it may well not be enough. The Scotsman expects to get battered but will relish the chance to play the best.
Littler is just winning everything he plays in, so long as it is a) on a stage, and b) not in Germany. Check, and check on those fronts, although it is very close to Germany.
Their H2H record is 2-1 with Menzies beating Littler in the last match. All those were played last year and all on the floor. It was a rubbish match with both players averaging sub-90. Littler is actually quite ordinary on the floor and he just uses the Players Championship events to get a bit of rust off now and then.
Littler is the 1.16 favourite, Menzies 6.00. It could be fun to watch, but the outcome could be inevitable. No bet.
2025 Czech Darts Open Saturday Tip: No bet
Michael van Gerwen vs. Mike de Decker
Van Gerwen is struggling with life and that bleeds into his performances on the oche. He has lost five of his last ten matches and while he can still hit some big numbers, he looks like he is expecting to lose at times.
MVG went down very tamely to Gian van Veen last week, averaging 89.77. He has played in just five Euro Tour events and won ET 4, but that was back in April. He has lost his last two second round matches.
Mike de Decker averaged 100.90 in his 6-3 win over Ritchie Edhouse last night. He has won five of his last ten matches but is very inconsistent. De Decker has played nine second round matches on the Euro Tour in 2025 and won just three.
H2H
Their H2H record is 6-0 to MVG but they last played in 2023 and since then, MVG has deteriorated quite a bit and De Decker has become a Major champion, but he isn’t playing like one a lot of the time.
MVG is there for the taking, but can De Decker dig in and find his A-game? That is a very hard one to answer.
MVG is the 1.73 favourite, De Decker 2.20. I can’t back an out of sorts MVG, but an inconsistent De Decker who has never beaten MVG is not of any interest at 2.20. However, it is hard to see either player running away with the game and it could be another overs match.
2025 Czech Darts Open Saturday Tip: 1 point over 9.5 legs @ 2.10 with Betfair
Josh Rock vs. William O’Connor
O’Connor held it together better than he usually does in his 6-5 win over Luke Woodhouse yesterday. It was an OK performance but nothing special. He has won eight of his last ten matches, so he will be feeling confident, but he is likely to get hit with some big bombs tonight.
Josh Rock is right up there with the very best on recent form. He has great scoring power and his confidence is growing. He is hitting ton plus averages in around half his matches and his B-game of late is around 96.
Their H2H form is a surprising 2-1 to O’Connor, including a 6-4 win back in March, but all those matches were on the floor.
Rock is the 1.33 favourite and O’Connor 3.75. We are on Rock outright, so hopefully he can get through this, and he should. No bet.
2025 Czech Darts Open Saturday Tip: No Bet
That is it from me this weekend. The Italian GP gets priority tomorrow. I will not be covering the World Series of Darts next weekend, so the next darting action will be Hungarian Darts Trophy in two weeks.
