2025 Dutch Darts Championship Friday Tips

It was a tricky start for James Punt this afternoon but he is hoping to bounce back this evening. You can check out his 2025 Dutch Darts Championship Friday preview and tips below.

Joe Cullen vs. Ryan Meikle

Cullen has put nearly three points on his seasonal average compared to 2024. He has won six of his last ten matches and in Europe he is four from nine.

Meikle has lost 57% of his matches in 2024, and six of his last ten. Half of those saw sub 90 averages. He is very inconsistent. He has not played on the Euro Tour in 2025 but lost all three of his matches last year.

Cullen is the 1.57 favourite and he leads the H2H stats 5-4. They have not played since 2023 with 2.63 shot Meikle winning their last two.

Cullen is the logical choice, but you never quite know what you get with Meikle. He can be quite good at times. Cullen can be backed at 1.91 giving up a -1.5 leg handicap, which is tempting, but not great value. No bet.

2025 Dutch Darts Championship Friday Tip: No bet

Daryl Gurney vs. Maik Kuivenhoven

Superchin’s win rate in 2025 has fallen below 50%. He had been in the mid-sixties for the last two years, so this is a serious dip in form. He has lost five of his last ten matches. Gurney has not played for three weeks, having withdrawn form ET6 and the last two Players Championships. Maybe there is something amiss as he really can’t afford to be missing out on ranking money opportunities.

Kuivenhoven has won six of his last ten matches and half of them have been with sub 90 averages.

These two have met eight times and it is 4-4. Kuivenhoven won their last two, both last year. They last met on the Euro Tour in 2020 and Kuivenhoven won 6-5.

Gurney Hard To Gauge

Gurney is the 1.57 favourite to win, Kuivenhoven 2.50. Having not seen Gurney for a few weeks, it is hard to say how he is playing, but 2025 is not going to plan. His place in the Matchplay is precarious, he is eleven thousand outside of the cut off for the Grand Prix and he is 30th of 32 for the European Championship. Even his place in the Players Championship finals is looking iffy.

That is why I have to think something is up. Is he injured or having some problems off the oche? Whatever it is, he is now under pressure to put some runs together or his ranking is going south.

Gurney has played three first round matches in 2025 and lost two. I am going to give Kuivenhoven a chance here.

2025 Dutch Darts Championship Friday Tip: 1 point Maik Kuivenhoven to win @ 2.50 generally available

Mike de Decker vs. Mickey Mansell

De Decker is playing OK, a bit inconsistent, and he has lost five of his last ten matches. He has won five of his six first round matches on the Euro Tour in 2025 and ten of his sixteen matches overall.

Mickey Mansell was on fire at the recent Euro Tour qualifiers, winning all six of his matches with five 96+ averages. He didn’t beat much, but he played well. It ended a run of four straight defeats and he will have relieved to get that behind him. On the Euro Tour, Mansell has only played three matches in 2025 and lost two.

Their H2H record is 4-1 to De Decker, but four of their five matches have required over 9.5 legs.

2025 Dutch Darts Championship Friday Tip: 1 point over 9.5 legs @ 2.10 with Betfair, Betvictor

Cameron Menzies vs. Wesley Plaisier

Menzies has a seasonal win rate of 74% but has lost four of his last ten. He has lost the consistency he was showing earlier in the season. On the Euro Tour, Menzies has played thirteen and won eight. He has won four of his five first round matches.

Plaisier has lost five of his last ten matches with six sub 90 averages. He has not played on the Euro Tour in 2025.

These two have met three times with Menzies winning all three, the last a 6-5 win in PC4 in February which was in this very venue. Menzies went on to reach the final that day.

Menzies is the 1.57 favourite and hopefully, he can cover the handicap.

2025 Dutch Darts Championship Friday Tip: 1 point Cameron Menzies to win -1.5 legs @ 1.91 with Hills

Gian van Veen vs. Boris Krčmar

Big Boris has proven to be a thorn in the side of a few big names when he visits the Euro Tour. He has beaten MVG, Josh Rock and Dirk van Duijvenbode in his previous two visits, and rattled Humphries and Wade in 4-6 defeats. He is relishing taking his chances.

Van Veen has won seven of his last ten matches, but he has been a bit inconsistent with five sub 92 averages. He may need something closer to his A-game if Boris is in the mood. Van Veen has won all of his ET first round matches.

These two have met just once, back in a Euro Tour qualifier in 2023 and Van Veen won that 6-3.

Gian van Veen is the 1.40 favourite but I will take a chance on Big Boris to cast his Euro Tour spell once again.

2025 Dutch Darts Championship Friday Tip: 1 point Boris Krčmar to win @ 3.20 with BET365, Livescorebet

Raymond van Barneveld vs. Jerry Hendriks

Hendriks averaged 81.39 when coming through four qualifying matches yesterday. That won’t be good enough to beat the Grandfather of Dutch Darts. RVB is the 1.17 favourite, Hendriks 6.00. No bet.

2025 Dutch Darts Championship Friday Tip: No Bet

Dirk Van Duijvenbode vs. Teemu Harju

We saw a little bit of Harju in ET5 when he lost 4-6 to Ryan Joyce in the first round. The Finnish player competes on the Nordic Baltic tour and he has won eight of his last ten matches. He recently won NB Tour 7 and is third on the OOM. He has a decent A game but a seasonal average of 87.

We have backed Dirk outright and we can sit back and hope that he doesn’t slip up in a match where he is the 1.17 favourite. No bet.

2025 Dutch Darts Championship Friday Tip: No bet

Jermaine Wattimena vs. Niko Springer

An interesting clash to end the night. Wattimena will have the crowd on his side and they were very partisan in the afternoon session. The Machine Gun has won six of his last ten matches and he is playing OK but not his best. Wattimena has won four of his six first round matches in 2025, but there is nothing in those performances that would frighten Springer.

Niko Springer, the rising star of German darts, has won eight of his last ten matches and while he hasn’t beaten much, winning is a good habit to have. He is still work in progress and doesn’t look like a tournament winner waiting to happen just yet, but he is improving. He has won two of his three first round matches in 2025 averaging 95, 102 and 96 and he has always played well.

Their H2H record is 2-0 to Springer, both were Euro Tour first round matches in 2023 and 2022. Both ended 6-4.

Wattimena is the 1.91 favourite, Springer 2.06.

2025 Dutch Darts Championship Friday Tip: 1 point Springer to win @ 2.08 with Livescorebet
2025 Dutch Darts Championship Friday Tip: 0.5 point Springer to win 6-4 @ 7.50 with Livescorebet
