2025 Dutch Darts Championship R2 Tips
James Punt bounced back to form with three lovely winners on Friday evening. You can check out his 2025 Dutch Darts Championship R2 preview and tips below.
Damon Heta vs. Jeffrey Sparidaans
Hopefully Heta can win this so as we do not have to hear Sparidaans’ walk on music again. However, this is no penalty kick for Heta.
Sparidaans has won eight of his last ten matches. OK, four of them were in the local qualifier, but he hit 95 and 99 averages in two of them. He has a decent A game and is a former tour card holder. He has only played four Euro Tour matches, but he has now won two.
Damon Heta has lost six of his last ten matches and he is far from banker material. He has lost his opening match three times already in 2025.
Heta fav
Heta is the 1.29 favourite, Sparidaans 4.50. The crowd will be on Heta’s back and his confidence is not high. His opening matches have had a strange pattern to them. He has won one 6-0, lost one 0-6. Won one 6-2, lost one 2-6 and won one 6-5 and lost one 5-6. It is hard to extract much out of that, but he has had a lot of short matches in Europe.
I was looking at the +2.50 handicap for Sparidaans, but that is just 2.05. He would need to win four legs to land the bet, so why not just have a punt on a Dutch win.

Dave Chisnall vs. Ritchie Edhouse
Edhouse won an ill-tempered match with Kim Huybrechts yesterday. It was a come from behind win, with Edhouse 0-3 down but he managed to turn it around in a match that ended with the crowd trying to put both players off. Edhouse ended up goading the crowd and I don’t think that was wise. I suspect that he will have a target on his back today. Edhouse has lost eight of his last ten matches and he only averaged 81 yesterday.
Chizzy made the final of PC15 at the start of last week, his best run for some time. He then hit three sub 90 averages on the Tuesday, Is he back, or not?
Back or not, he should beat Edhouse. He is 13-5 against him and beat him 6-5 on the Euro Tour earlier this season. That was a match Edhouse should have won as Chisnall was poor, but he still edged it. Chizzy has won five of his six second round matches on the Euro Tour in 2025 and covered the handicap in all five.
2025 Dutch Darts Championship R2 Tip: 1 point Dave Chisnall to win -1.5 legs @ 1.73 with Boylesports
Michael Smith vs. Ryan Joyce
An interesting match. Smith is a man under pressure. Things are going away from him and he is desperately trying to win enough money to make the big events. Pressure can make things tough. Bully Boy has lost five of his last ten matches but he has played some good stuff, but also some poor stuff. Four sub 91 averages, and those are the matches where he is vulnerable.
Ryan Joyce was poor in his 6-5 win over Jeffrey de Zwaan yesterday and should have lost. It was only an 85 average and he missed six darts to land our bet. Joyce admitted that he was nervous, because, like Smith, he needs money to qualify of the big majors.
Joyce is just inside the Matchplay cut off, Smith is £6500 outside it. Joyce is more comfortable for the Grand Prix, but Smith is currently last on the Pro Tour qualifying list. Joyce is comfortable in the European Tout OOM, but Smith is 28th of the 32 qualifiers for the European Championships.
Joyce has won six of his last ten matches, and like Smith, his performances have been a real mixed bag.
Their H2H record is 5-3 to Smith and it was Smith who won 6-5 in ET1 earlier this season. Smith is the 1.77 favourite, Joyce 2.20. I expect Joyce to be the less nervous of the two, now that he has a win under his belt.

Jonny Clayton vs. Max Hopp
Venue specialist Clayton has lost his last five opening matches on the Euro Tour in 2025. Will a return to a venue where he has won a lot of matches help him get one over the line? He has won seven of his last ten matches and won PC14 last month. Since then he has only played three times, all Euro Tour matches, and lost all three. That is hard form to work out.
Max Hopp didn’t have to do much to beat an under the weather Luke Woodhouse 6-3 yesterday. He only averaged 87.43 which is very much in line with his seasonal average. Hopp has won six of his last ten matches but his A game is rarely spotted.
Clayton is the 1.30 favourite, Hopp 4.00. Their H2H record is 8-1 to Clayton and he has handed out three wide margin beatings to Hopp over the years on the Euro Tour, the last a 6-1 win in 2022.

Martin Schindler vs. Martin Lukeman
Smash did the business for us yesterday, beating Lukas Wenig 6-2 and putting in a good performance. He has won six of his last ten matches and yesterday’s win has put him 33rd on the European Championship OOM. He has to qualify for these events and has to take advantage when he does get in (via the reserve list this weekend). His motivation is high and a win here would be a real bonus.
Schindler tops the European Championship OOM, so he has no worries about needing the money. He has won seven of his last ten matches and sixteen of his twenty one Euro Tour matches in 2025.
Their H2H record is 5-2 to Schindler and he is the 1.57 favourite with Lukeman 2.55. There is some value in Schindler’s price, but Lukeman is a dangerous opponent. No bet.
2025 Dutch Darts Championship R2 Tip: No Bet
Danny Noppert vs. Mario Vandenbogaerde
Super Mario played very well when beating Zonneveld 6-4 yesterday. He averaged 99.76, hit three maximums and checked out at 60%. He has won seven of his last ten matches but yesterday’s display was at the top end of his performance scale and will be hard to repeat.
Danny Noppert was having a very dry spell on the Euro Tour, losing seven consecutive matches, but he picked up a 6-5 win in ET5, then lost in round three. In ET6 he won in round two, again 6-5, and lost in round three. Noppert just hasn’t got to grips with the Euro Tour recently. The Freeze has won eight of his last ten matches but not with a lot of consistency.
Their H2H record is 1-1. Both matches were brief affairs with scorelines of 6-1 and 6-2. Noppert is the 1.36 favourite, Vandenbogaerde 3.45. On home ground, and the crowd here are not very nice, Noppert has a big advantage and should win, probably with something in hand.
2025 Dutch Darts Championship R2 Tip: 1 point Noppert to win -2.5 legs @ 2.15 with Ladbrokes
Ryan Searle vs. Ryan Meikle
The Barber beat a very poor Joe Cullen 6-1 yesterday, but he didn’t have to do a lot as Cullen just didn’t know what a double was. Meikle has won five of his last ten matches but his scoring is all over the place and he is very inconsistent.
Ryan Searle has won five of his last ten matches, half seeing sub 91 averages. On the Euro Tour he has won just three matches and just one second round match from four played.
Their H2H record is 2-2 but Searle beat Meikle 6-3 earlier this month.
Searle is the 1.36 favourite, Meikle 3.30. Both players are dodgy, so it is a no bet or something on the outsider. No bet.
2025 Dutch Darts Championship R2 Tip: No Bet
Chris Dobey vs. Daryl Gurney
Superchin beat Maik Kuivenhoven 6-4 yesterday. It was no more than an OK performance, let down by poor doubling. He has won five of his last ten matches and won his two second round matches in 2025.
Chris Dobey will be looking forward to a slightly less hectic schedule now that his PL participation is over. He has won just four of his last ten matches, but most of those were in the PL and against very tough opponents.
His Euro Tour form in 2025 is played seven and lost five. He has won just one second round match, but a win here would put him a lot closer to the top 32 on the European Championship OOM.
Their H2H record is 6-5 to Dobey and he has won their last four in a row.
Dobey is the 1.50 favourite, Gurney 2.75. It is hard to get excited about either player’s chances. Dobey is not a great Euro Tour player, never has been, but Gurney is not the player he was. No bet.
