Andrew Gilding vs. Gabriel Clemens

Both players have been losing a few too many matches lately. Gilding has lost four of his last five, Clemens five of his last seven.

It is their H2H record which is interesting. They have played seven times and Clemens has won six, and he has won the last six in a row. He has won the last four 6-5 and the one match Gilding won was of course 6-5. They have not met since 2022 so the form is old, but it is enough for me to have a bet on overs and a tickle on a correct score.

Martin Schindler vs. Callan Rydz

Schindy did us proud last weekend and he was close to getting picked again this week, but his H2H record vs. MVG was off putting. Before he gets to test himself against Van Gerwen, he has to beat Callan Rydz.

Schindler has won eight of his last ten and is four from four in Euro Tour first round matches. Overall on the Euro Tour in 2025, he has played eighteen matches and won twelve. He has won three of the last fifteen Euro Tour events and can be considered a Euro Tour specialist. Schindler is ranked first on the Euro Tour OOM. It is a good CV.

Mercurial

Callan Rydz is a mercurial player. He can be very good and he has won three ranking titles. He has made two Euro Tour semi-finals but has lost fifteen first round matches from twenty six played, including both his matches this year. His recent form is not good, losing six of his last ten. It is not all bad, but there has been more poor darts than good darts.

Their H2H record is a very comprehensive 12-1 to Schindler.

Schindler is the 1.67 favourite and Rydz 2.38. I would have thought Schindler would be shorter given their recent form and H2H record. When losing on the Euro Tour, Rydz has only lost 5-6 once, his other twenty five defeats have been by at least a two leg margin.

William O’Connor vs. Dirk van Duijvenbode

O’Connor has been playing some great darts in 2025, but has he gone off the boil? He has lost four of his last five matches. He did average 107 in the match he won, but the rest were all sub 93. O’Connor has struggled on the Euro Tour and has won just one of his last six matches.

Dirk van Duijvenbode is also something of a Euro Tour underachiever. He made two finals in 2023 the last of which was the European Darts Matchplay in July 2023, his best results since have been three quarter finals from nineteen played. He did make one last weekend and averaged 105.5 across his four matches.

Dirk has won four of his five first round matches and his worst first round average in 2025 is 97.07. It is not getting going in these events that is the problem, it is getting results later on. He has won seven of his last ten matches and hit seven ton plus averages.

Their H2H record is 5-3 to Van Duijvenbode and in four of his five wins, he has covered a -1.5 handicap. I expect that he can do so again.
