2025 European Darts Trophy Friday Tips
Check out James Punt’s 2025 European Darts Trophy Friday tips below. His outright preview is here.
Daryl Gurney vs. Nico Springer
Superchin has a seasonal win rate of 50% and has lost five of his last ten matches. His seasonal average has fallen below 92, which is not great. In half of his last sixteen matches Gurney has had a checkout rate of less than 33%.
Nico Springer is a good player but still relatively inexperienced. His seasonal average is now 95.37, up from 88.50 at the end of 2024. He is improving fast. Springer has won six of his last ten matches and earlier this week he had wins over MVG and Michael Smith, amongst others. They are not the players they once were, but still good scalps to take confidence wise.
Springer has played in just six previous Euro Tour events and won three first round matches.
Springer is the 1.85 favourite, Gurney 2.10. I had hoped we may have got a better price for Springer as Gurney is a big name player, but the market is wise to his lack of form. No bet.
2025 European Darts Trophy Friday tip: No Bet
Ricardo Pietreczko vs. Daniel Klose
An all-German line up with the tour card holding Pikachu up against a qualifier. Pietreczko is not in great form. His seasonal average is 89.06, his win rate just 39% and he has lost seven of his last ten matches. He is opposable.
Klose has been a tour card holder and has reached a Players Championship final. He plays on the Challenge tour these days and has a seasonal average of 87.60, so not far off Pietreczko. He has played five previous Euro Tour events before but only won one match.
These two have met twice before both in 2023. Pietreczko beat Klose in a Euro Tour event, winning 6-4. Klose got his revenge a month later in a Players Championship match. Both matches were over 9.5 legs.
Pietreczko is the 1.67 favourite, Klose 2.37. I can’t have a player is such poor form being a 1.67 favourite. Klose is no world beater but surely he can give Pietreczko something to think about at the very least.

Ryan Joyce vs. Joe Cullen
Joyce is a player I like to follow when he is in good form, but having lost six of his last ten matches, he isn’t in good from. He also doesn’t travel well. He lost his first round match in Belgium 5-6 to Michael Smith. Joyce played in seven Euro Tour events in 2024 and won just two first round matches and one second round match when he was seeded.
Joe Cullen is a tournament winner in 2025 and has won multiple Euro Tour titles, the last in 2022. His recent form sees seven wins from his last ten matches, but it is the last three that he has lost.
He travelled to Germany for the two Players Championship events earlier in the week and lost both first round matches. There was a 1-6 loss to Ian White, and 3-6 loss to Darren Beveridge. He has gone from tournament winning form two weeks ago to very modest form.
Their H2H form is 6-3 to Joe Cullen. They have not played since 2023 and it was Joyce who won their last two. Seven of their nine matches went over 9.5 legs, including a 6-4 win for Cullen in a Euro Tour event in 2023.
2025 European Darts Trophy Friday tip: 1 point over 9.5 legs @ 1.91 with Ladbrokes
Ryan Searle vs. Laurin Welk
Heavy Metal is the 1.09 favourite to beat the local qualifier. Welk plays on the Challenge tour where he averages 77.26. It is a good draw for Searle.
Searle made a Euro Tour final last year, another semi-final and no less than six quarter finals. He was a seeded player last year, but the new qualifying criteria means he has to start in the first round in 2025. He isn’t very happy with that change.
He won his first round match 6-2 in Belgium a couple of weeks ago and he can probably better that tonight. Searle was a quarter finalist on Tuesday and averaged 102 across his five matches.
2025 European Darts Trophy Friday tip: Ryan Searle to win -3.5 legs @ 1.80 with Ladbrokes, Betvictor
Raymond van Barneveld vs. Ricky Evans
Barney has lost five of his last ten matches and while he occasionally hits the high notes, he is more likely to throw in a low 90s or sub 90 average.
Ricky Evans has had to deal with the sudden death of his sister a few weeks ago. Something like that is going to knock him for six and he can’t be expected to be at the top of his game. Like Barney, he has lost five of his last ten matches and much like Barney he is throwing all sorts of averages.
Their H2H record is 4-2 to RVB but they have not played since 2023. I can’t see either player dominating the game and of their four best of eleven leg matches, three have been over 9.5 legs.

Mike de Decker vs. Martin Lukeman
Smash did us a big favour by reaching the final of the Grand Slam last year, and he is a good player to follow when in form. He has won six of his last ten matches but is playing with no consistency. His seasonal average has dropped a couple of points in 2025.
De Decker was runner up on home soil in Belgium two weeks ago. He followed that up with a semi-final in PC5 and another semi-final earlier this week in PC7. He is winning plenty of matches but not smashing in any big averages. Winning matches is the name of the game, and if he hits his A game, he will win more titles. This weekend would be nice.
De Decker is the 1.57 favourite despite Lukeman being 4-2 up in the H2H record. De Decker has won their last two meetings, the last one a 6-1 win last October. We are on him outright and that is enough interest for me.

Martin Schindler vs. Adam Hunt
Schindler won PC8 on Tuesday in a very underwhelming fashion. He averaged just 91 across his seven match wins. It happens from time to time and it was a tournament notable for the absence of all the Premier League players. It will have given his confidence a boost, but even he said he didn’t play well.
Adam Hunt is averaging 89 in 2025. He has lost seven of his last ten matches and he is playing a German, in Germany. Tough gig. Schindy is also 6-0 against The Hunter, all pretty comprehensive wins. All five best of eleven leg matches were under 9.5 legs.
2025 European Darts Trophy Friday tip: 1 point Martin Schindler to win -1.5 legs @ 1.73 with Betvictor
Gian van Veen vs. Conor Scutt
Two highly rated players. Van Veen won his first senior title ten days ago. He beat Luke Humphries 8-3 in the final. The day before he was runner up to Joe Cullen, losing 7-8 and missing match darts. He beat Luke Littler 7-6 in the semi-final. Gian was beating top players and one of his victims was Conor Scutt, who he beat 6-5 on the way to winning PC6. It was a mixed bag from Van Veen earlier this week, winning just three matches on Monday and Tuesday, but he did hit two 104 averages.
Scutt has lost six of his last ten matches and even his 102.70 was not enough to beat Van Veen.
Their H2H record is 2-1 to Van Veen and all three have been close affairs.
