2025 GSOD Saturday Evening Preview

Now, it is time for James Punt’s 2025 GSOD Saturday evening preview. You can check out his preview for this afternoon’s session here.

Martin Schindler vs. Luke Woodhouse

Schindler doesn’t have many good memories of this event. He has played in five Grand Slams and never progressed beyond the group stage. He has played fifteen matches and won just four. His recent form sees six defeats from his last ten matches and while he has hit a couple of ton plus averages, he also hit four sub-90’s.

Woodhouse is a much-improved player over the last year or so. He is getting the most out of his game and he is now mentally stronger. His recent form sees nine wins from his last ten matches. He has reached a final on the Euro Tour and in Players Championship 34 nine days ago. It is not stellar progress, but it is progress.

Their H2H record is 5-1 to Schindler, but it was Woodhouse who won their last match 6-4 back in May.

Woodhouse will be feeling the more confident of the two players and I wouldn’t make him the outsider.

2025 GSOD Saturday evening Tip: 1 point Luke Woodhouse to win @ 2.10 generally available

Luke Littler vs. Karel Sedlacek

Littler is he overwhelming 1.18 favourite to win this. A bit short against a decent player, and a player who has won eight of his last ten matches. Sedlacek came through the tour card holder qualifier and averaged 97.53 across his four wins.

This is no mug player. He won four legs against Littler in their only previous meeting. Any value lies with the Czech.

2025 GSOD Saturday evening Tip: 1 point Karel Sedlacek to win + 2.5 legs @ 2.25 with Ladbrokes, Boylesports, Hills

Michael van Gerwen vs. Beau Greaves

The biggest draw of the evening session? It certainly is interesting.

Beau Greaves is a different person to the one that has played in two previous Grand Slams. Before she was lacking in self-belief and not comfortable on the big stage and against top male opponents. However, she has matured, is happier to play in the big events and will be a full-time tour card holder in 2026.

Greaves is just too good to play in Women’s Series and WDF events. There is no real challenge there, so the only thing to do is go to the professional level and see how it works out. I think she will do well, but it will be harder than some may think.

Money For Beau

But what can she do against MVG? The market is moving her way and Greaves is now into just 2.90 to beat the three-time Grand Slam winner. MVG has not had a good season. His win rate is just 55% but he can still play very well and usually does, but he has lost the ability to intimidate players. Everyone knows that he is beatable these days, and more importantly, so does he.

This has the look of a match that depends on the early legs. If MVG can win the first two, then he can wrap it up and justify odds of 1.40. If he can’t dominate, then it is game on. There is enough chance that MVG can have his cage rattled that I will go for a relatively close match.

2025 GSOD Saturday evening Tip: 1 point over 7.5 legs @ 1.91 with Betfred
