2025 PDC WC Evening Session Preview

Callan Rydz landed our win and most 180s bet but a Pikachu meltdown meant our over 180s bet in that game went awry. We go again, check out James Punt’s 2025 PDC WC Evening Session preview and tips below.

Stephen Bunting vs. Luke Woodhouse

Woodhouse has taken down Damon Heta and Mike De Decker in the last two rounds, so he should not be underestimated. He is having a good season so him having a good tournament should be no great surprise. He hasn’t shot the lights out, but he has got the wins and if he wins this, he moves into the top 32 and that brings many benefits, like an entry into the 205 Masters for starters. It would be a fitting way to end his best ever season.

Luke reached the semi-final at the European Championship and he is beginning to believe that he does belong at this level. Woodhouse has won six of his last ten matches and is playing with a reasonable degree of consistency, but he does lack the firepower that Bunting processes.

Ton Plus Average

Bunting has also won six of his last ten matches and he has hit one of only six ton plus averages in the tournament going into the fourth round. He has hit a ton plus average in four of his last seven matches and that is the difference between the two. Bunting is more likely to be the heavier scorer.

Bunting does have a reputation for being a bit of a bottler at the business end of the big events. Is the fourth round far enough to get his ring twitching? I don’t think so.

He has played five fourth round matches here and won three. The two he lost were both against MVG, and both were 0-4 defeats. MVG is a bogeyman for Bunting. He has lost two quarter finals and a semi-final and I think quarter final time is when he will start to get tight.

Bunting Dominates H2H

Their H2H record is a very dominant 10-1 to Bunting. Woodhouse’s only win was back in 2019. They have never met on TV before and only once on stage. That was on the Euro Tour last year and 6-3 for Bunting.

While Woodhouse is having a good season, but that H2H record will be in both their minds. Bunting hates playing MVG, Woodhouse hates playing Bunting. He has lost to Bunting more times than any player he has faced.

Woodhouse is a better player these days, but he will not be looking forward to facing Bunting. If Bunting gets off to a good start, it could be over very quickly. Bunting is the 1.35 favourite, Woodhouse 3.50.

2025 PDC WC Evening Session Tip: 0.5 point Bunting to win 4-1 @ 4.50 with Livescorebet

Michael van Gerwen vs. Jeffrey de Graaf

MVG has played OK in his opening two matches. He beat James Hurrell 3-0 and Brendan Dolan 4-2. No fireworks yet and Dolan did let him off the hook a few times with missed doubles at the wrong time. It has not been vintage MVG, but he hasn’t needed to be any better.

MVG has won five of his last ten matches and that is not convincing form. That sums his season up, unconvincing.

Jeffrey de Graaf has had a strange tournament. He was pressured by the Bahamian, Rashad Sweeting, in the first round, nearly going 0-2 down. He beat Gary Anderson 3-0 in the second round, and then was lucky enough to get an Asian qualifier in the third round, winning that 4-1.

He has won eight of his last ten matches and playing with a good deal of consistency. He is not a heavy scorer, but he has been hitting a lot mid 90 averages and that is competitive.

Their H2H record is 2-0 to MVG, a 6-3 win this year and 6-2 way back in 2016. De Graaf is now Swedish citizen but was brought up in the Netherlands. A lot of the Dutch youngsters still see MVG as a darting heavyweight in a way that most other players no longer do. They can get a little intimidated before a dart is thrown.

Van Gerwen is the 1.20 favourite with De Graaf 4.75. I wouldn’t be going so short on MVG. De Graaf can make a mark on this game, so long as he doesn’t show MVG too much respect.

2025 PDC WC Evening Session Tip: 1 point Jeffrey de Graaf to win +2.5 sets @ 1.91 with Livescorebet

Luke Littler vs. Ryan Joyce

Ryan Joyce has played some very good darts to reach the fourth round, for the second time at Ally Pally. He is used to having good runs in the Majors this season and being the underdog suits him just fine. He beat the ton plus averaging Ryan Searle in the match of the tournament in the last round. Joyce showed skill and bottle to get that over the line. He shouldn’t be taken lightly, but he will.

Luke Littler hasn’t been at his best so far but has still averaged 99.34 across his two matches. That is his B game. Littler has won fourteen of his last fifteen matches and hit eighteen ton plus averages in his last twenty.

Doubles Key

Joyce is about 5.5 points down in terms of the three dart averages in 2024, but he is 44% on the doubles, compared to 41% for Littler. It was the doubles which caused Littler to have a few problems against Ian White in the last round. White was even worse and didn’t take his chances. The 4-1 scoreline was a little flattering. If there is any way that Joyce can hurt Littler, it will be on the outer ring.

Littler won his first round match 3-0 last year, but dropped one set in the second, third, and fourth rounds, and the semi-final. He has dropped a set in round two and round three so far this year. I can see Joyce being good enough to get himself on the scoreboard, but so long as Littler doesn’t really struggle on the doubles, his superior firepower should be the determining factor.

2025 PDC WC Evening Session Tip: 0.5 point Luke Littler to win 4-1 @ 3.50 with Betfred, Fitzdares
