2025 PDC WC Tuesday Preview & Tips

Unfortunately, James Punt came up dry on Monday night. Zonneveld and Menzies both failed to fire but hopefully, we can get back on the winning trail this afternoon. You can check out his 2025 PDC WC Tuesday preview and tips below.

James Hurrell vs. Jim Long

Hurrell has lost six of his last ten matches, but he has been putting some big averages together with five of those matches seeing 97+ averages, and only one sub 90. This will be his Ally Pally debut, so he may be especially nervous.

Hurrell has averaged 94.33 over the last three months, above his seasonal average of 91.20. His last match was a 5-6 loss to Danny Noppert in the UK Open and he averaged 97.84 in that, so his form is good scoring wise, but not match win wise.

Jim Long is the CDC pro tour qualifier, and the Canadian is making his second World Championship appearance. He last played in the 2019 championship when he beat Mickey Mansell, before losing 2-3 to Benito van de Pas in the second round, so he has some match experience at Ally Pally.

Lower Level

Long has won nine of his last ten matches, but he is playing at a lower level than Hurrell. He did beat Michael Smith 6-2 in a World Series match in the summer, before losing 2-6 to MVG. Long has only averaged 84.53 in the last three months, so there has been a significant scoring difference between the two most recently, but can Hurrell relax and play his game, or will he be a little overwhelmed?

Hurrell is the 1.57 favourite, Long 2.30. So long as he doesn’t get too nervous, Hurrell has the game to win this with a bit in hand, but there is the risk that he gets stage fright on debut. He was 1.67 yesterday, but he has been backed into 1.57 and any value has been squeezed out. No bet.

2025 PDC WC Tuesday Tip: No bet

Kevin Doets vs. Noa-Lyn van Leuven

Doets is a highly rated player who hasn’t quite exploded into the darting scene, but he has made steady progress. His seasonal win rate is just 55% and most recently, he has lost seven of his last ten matches so he is not going to be overly confident. Doets made his debut here last year and beat Stowe Buntz 3-0 in the first round. before giving Michael Smith a real scare, losing 2-3 in the second round.

Noa-Lyn played in the Grand Slam, where she played OK, up to her seasonal average of 82.42 (84.01 in the last 3 months) but lost all three matches. She was up against it, facing MVG, Gary Anderson and Ryan Joyce. Like Doets, Noa-Lyn has lost seven of her last ten matches. This will be her Ally Pally debut.

Doets is the 1.20 favourite and just 2.60 to win 3-0. He should win 3-0 but the value isn’t great. No bet.

2025 PDC WC Tuesday Tip: No Bet

Ryan Joyce vs. Darius Labanauskas

This looks a bit more interesting. Darius ‘Lucky D’ Labanauskas is a former World Championship quarter finalist and he has only lost one first round match in his five previous appearances. He plies his trade on the Challenge Tour and Nordic Baltic tours after losing his tour card. He has won six of his last ten matches, and he hit 110.51, and 104.92 averages in his last five matches, albeit in a first to five leg format. Clearly, he hasn’t lost it.

Ryan Joyce is a player to follow when he is in form. He tends to be very underrated but he is an accomplished player. He reached the quarter finals at the recent Players Championship finals, and he made it through the group stage at the Grand Slam before that, beating MVG to do so.

Joyce was a semi-finalist in the World Grand Prix in October and made a Players Championship quarter final shortly after that. All good stuff. He is very experienced and, like Labanauskas, he is a former quarter finalist here and has won four of his six first round matches. He is not a particularly heavy scorer but he is a good finisher.

Their H2H record is 3-1 to Labanauskas.

Joyce is the 1.33 favourite, which is a bit dismissive about Labanauskas. I would expect him to make his mark on the game, but picking the winner looks tricky. Over 3.5 sets is just 1.50 and it is hard to see much in the way of value here.

2025 PDC WC Tuesday Tip: No Bet

Mike de Decker vs. Luke Woodhouse

It was a good performance by Woodhouse yesterday, beating Ilagan 3-0 and losing just two legs. He was guilty of taking his foot of the gas once he realised he wasn’t really in a match, he will need to be fully engaged today.

Mike De Decker has improved hand over fist since he picked up his first Players Championship title in August. That boost in confidence allowed him to realise the potential that was there, and it took him to his first ranking Major title at the Grand Prix in October. Most recently, he has won six of his last ten matches and he is playing consistently for the bulk of the time. He is not unbeatable by any means, but he is hard to beat.

Consistency

Woodhouse has won six of his last ten matches and is also playing with commendable consistency. His level is a step down from De Decker’s, but he is playing well enough to win legs and take advantage of any slip ups by De Decker.

Their H2H record is 1-1, with Woodhouse winning their only match in 2024. That was a 6-3 win on the Euro Tour in June, before De Decker took off. The Belgian has lost at this stage for the last three years, but he is a more confident player these days. Woodhouse did make the third round on his debut in 2020, beating Michael Smith 3-1 in the second round, so he knows he can do it.

Mike de Decker is the 1.34 favourite, with Woodhouse 3.40. De Decker is the better player, but is he that much better? I expect Woodhouse to give De Decker something to think about. We might even get a good game of darts, and there have not been many of them so far. Only one of the twelve games played so far went to a deciding set.

2025 PDC WC Tuesday Tip: 1 point Luke Woodhouse to win +1.5 sets @ 2.10 with Betfair
