2025 WM Darts Final Preview

Now, it is time for the decider. We landed two more winners last night, hopefully we are in for a grandstand finish. Come on Wadey! Check out James Punt’s 2025 WM Darts Final preview and tips are below.

Luke Littler vs. James Wade

I have a horrible feeling that this match is going to be a bit of a damp squib. We have our 67.00 shot into the final and he is the 5.50 outsider, with Littler a strong 1.17 favourite.

The problem is that Wade expended so much energy in beating Jonny Clayton last night that he is going to find it very hard to get back up for this. He was exhausted and 24 hours is not a lot of time to rest up and recharge the batteries. Luke Littler had a tough match aswell, but even though he is clearly not an athlete, he is a lot younger, with a lot more energy reserves to draw upon.

Littler Leads H2H

These two have played each other five times and Littler has won four, the last four. They have played three times on TV, littler winning 10-7, 4-0 (sets) and 11-2. All pretty comprehensive wins.

Wade’s tournament average is 101.27 which is very good, and he has been very consistent. He will win legs, if he can keep that standard up, but what has he got left to give?

Luke Littler’s tournament average is 105.90 and he too has been very consistent. Perhaps the fact that he played so little competitive darts in recent weeks, was a bit of a masterstroke. He came into the event fresh and with plenty in the tank.

Looking at the last ten Matchplay finals, half have been over 29.5 legs, half under. With Littler having racked up a few comprehensive wins over Wade, and Wade looking like he had expended a lot of mental energy last night, I have to think that Wade may struggle to carry on playing like he has been doing. If he did, an overs bet would be a good bet, but I am going to back unders.

2025 WM Darts Final Tip: 1 point under 29.5 legs @ 2.00 with Hills, Betfair

It has been a decent tournament betting wise and there have been some great darts played, but the finals are often a bit of an anticlimax. You never know, maybe Littler had a dodgy kebab last night and Wade will give him a spanking! We can but dream.
