2025 World Grand Prix Saturday Preview
It was a clean sweep for James Punt on Friday with three winners from three bets. Check out his 2025 World Grand Prix Saturday tips below.
Luke Humphries vs. Danny Noppert
A repeat of this year’s World Masters semi-final, another sets based format, which Humphries won 5-2. That is the only time they have met in a TV major, which is a surprise, but it could be a good pointer as this is also a sets based, best of nine format. Overall, Humphries is 7-4 up against Noppert.
Both players have won eight of their last ten matches and both have been semi-finalists in this event. Noppert lost the 2022 semi-final 1-4 to Jonny Clayton. Luke Humphries has played in two Grand Prix semi-finals and won both and won both to nil. Quite the record.
Humphries Not At Best
Humphries has been the better player so far, but he hasn’t quite hit his best. He didn’t have much trouble beating Menzies last night and hopefully he is saving his best for the rest of the weekend.
Noppert has been very Noppert, steady and efficient, but his record in TV major semi-finals is poor. He has played seven and lost six, the last one being that 2-5 loss in the World Masters earlier this year.
Humphries, on the other hand, has played thirteen TV major semi-finals and won ten. He hasn’t lost one since the 2023 Matchplay, meaning he has won his last nine in a row. Impressive.
Humphries is the 1.29 favourite, Noppert 4.00. The odds look about right to me and I will restrict myself to a little correct score bet and hope that history repeats itself.

Luke Littler vs. Jonny Clayton
It was a great display from The Ferret to beat Van Duijvenbode 3-0. He won nine legs in a row to put the Dutchman in his place. He is going to need his best form to win this, but do not dismiss his chances.
Luke Littler must have a sore back this morning after dodging so many bullets in his 3-2 quarter final win over Gerwyn Price. If you backed the Welshman, bad luck, he should have won that match.
Littler was poor at times, rode his luck and it is he who will have to up his game this evening. He started the tournament with a 105 average, had a 92 in round two and just an 85 last night.
Clayton is loving the Majors in 2025 and this is fourth semi-final on the bounce. Of the last three he has won one and lost the last two, one of them to Littler, a 6-11 loss in the UK Open.
Their H2H record is 3-1 to Littler, which is not a great surprise. Littler is, like Humphries, the 1.29 favourite, with Clayton 4.00 (4.50+) on the exchange. At the odds, I am happy to take my chance on the Welshman.
