2026 PDC WC Day 6 Preview

James Punt kept things ticking over nicely on Day 5. You can check out his 2026 PDC WC Day 6 preview below.

Afternoon Session

Alan Soutar vs. Teemu Harju

Soots is a bit of an Ally Pally veteran these days. The Scotsman has played here three times and reached the fourth round twice, but he lost in the first-round last year. He isn’t playing as well as he was when he reached the fourth round in 2022 and 2023. Soutar has lost six of his last ten matches and is lacking consistency.

Teemu Harju won the Baltic Nordic Championship to earn his place here. He beat Cor Dekker and Johan Engstrom, amongst others, to win the title. He played in two Euro Tour events in 2025, losing 4-6 to Ryan Joyce in one, and 0-6 to Dirk van Duijvenbode in the other. He doesn’t seem to have the fire power to trouble Soutar’s ‘usual’ standard, but if Soutar turs up with his B game, it may be closer, but I’d still expect Soutar to win.

Soutar is the 1.33 favourite, Harju 3.75. It is another first round match with very little interest betting wise. No bet.

2026 PDC WC Day 6 Tip: No Bet

Nick Kenny vs. Justin Hood

This is a more evenly matched affair. Kenny has lost six of his last ten matches and has hit six sub-90 averages. He does have a decent A game in him, but we just don’t see it very often.

Kenny has played in three previous World Championships, winning his first round match twice. He has played a total of six matches on the Ally Pally stage, winning three, but only hitting one 90+ average. He tries his best but is vulnerable to a strong performance from an opponent.

Justin Hood is making his Ally Pally debut. He won his tour card in January and hasn’t made much of an impression on the Pro Tour, sitting at 83rd on the PDC OOM. He has taken the odd big scalp and puts in the odd big average but his recent form saw seven defeats in his last ten matches.

Hood has only played in two TV events, winning a couple of matches in the UK Open and most recently he beat Damon Heta in the Players Championship and took Andrew Gilding to a deciding leg.

Their H2H extends to just one match in 2020 which Kenny won 5-3.

The market has Justin Hood as the 1.67 favourite and Kenny 2.38. I can’t see why. It looks like a coin toss to me and perhaps the fact that Kenny has played here before, and won matches, might be the difference.

2026 PDC WC Day 6 Tip: 1 point Nick Kenny to win @ 2.38 with SpreadEx

Scott Williams vs. Paolo Nebrida

Nebrida caused a surprise here last year when he beat Ross Smith in the second round. This will be Nebrida’s fourth visit to Ally Pally. He finished seventh in this year’s Asian tour, winning two titles including AT27. He became the first Philippine to win a World Series match when he beat Rob Cross in the Bahrain Masters back in January. Nebrida is an experienced player and this is not his first rodeo.

Scott Williams had a bit of a Dartitis scare in October but he is not making a big thing of it and he looked to be fine when beating Ian White 6-2 at the Players Championship. He did get thumped by Josh Rock in round two but that had nothing to do with Dartitis, just that Rock played a blinder.

Williams is not in good form, he has lost seven of his last ten matches. He does like the TV stages, and this one in particular. He has played eleven matches on this stage and won eight.

Two players with positive mental associations of the event. The ‘home player’ is struggling for form but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him find his A game back on his favourite stage. If he does, he wins.

Williams is the 1.33 favourite, Nebrida 3.50. There isn’t any great value in Williams’ odds. Nebrida is no mug and might get something out of the match. He has never lost to nil here and his first two defeats were 2-3.

Chris Dobey vs. Xiaochen Zong

Time for my annual rant about why a nation of 1.424 billion people can’t produce a half decent darts player. In ten attempts, no Chinese player has ever won a match at Ally Pally and only once has one of their players not lost to nil.

This year Zong returns for his fifth visit to Ally Pally. At least he won’t be needing a hotel room for long. Zong is the Chinese player that has won two sets here. That was in a 2-3 loss to Kyle Anderson in 2019.

Zong has been quite consistent in his performances, averaging 87, 83, 85 and 84. More of that and he goes home with another 0-3 defeat under his belt. He can play better than he has done previously here, but that might be the problem, he is not a big stage player in the same way as many of the Asian Tour players are.

Chris Dobey has reached two quarter finals and a semi-final here in the last three years, so he has no problem turning it on at Ally Pally. He will not get his preferred pace of play, Zong is slow, and I don’t expect a classic Dobey performance, but I do expect a 3-0 result. That result is just 1.25, however, and this is not a betting match.

Evening Session

Ricardo Pietreczko vs. Jose de Sousa

Jose de Sousa has dropped out of the top 75 on the PDC OOM. He needs to win about three matches here to save his tour card.

The Special One rolled back the years to come through the tour card holders qualifier in fine style averaging 96.67. He can still hit some big averages but he has little confidence and no consistency. His record here is OK. De Sousa has played in seven World Championships and won three first round matches, two of them in deciding legs. Even in his prime he made hard work of it.

Weak Scoring

Pietreczko is playing in his third World Championship and he has reached the third and fourth rounds respectively. His recent form see five defeats in his last ten matches and his scoring has been very weak.

He relies on his doubling to get him out of trouble, but if that part of his game is off, he is out. Pietreczko has won both his previous first-round matches here to nil, but he played Mikuru Suzuki and Xiaochen Zong. Has he been lucky with the draw again?

These two have met four times and Pietreczko has won their last three, 6-5, 6-4 and their only match in 2025, 6-4.

Pietreczko is the 1.73 favourite, De Sousa 2.20. The Portuguese Man ‘O Scores has only played four TV matches in the last two years and he won just once.

2026 PDC WC Day 6 Tip: 1 point Pietreczko to win -1.5 sets @ 2.40 with Betfred

Danny Noppert vs. Jurjen van der Velde

We got to see 23 year old Van der Velde playing the big boys at the recent Grand Slam of Darts, and he pulled off a surprise to get through the group stage, before playing very well against Luke Humphries, but losing 3-10.

He was lucky to be in a group with a very out of form Martin Lukeman and Damon Heta who was playing with no confidence. He lost his other group match 1-5 to Dobey, and I suspect something similar against Noppert. Ven der Velde played Nathan Aspinall in the fifth round of the UK Open earlier this year, and lost that 2-10. He just may not be ready to be playing the very best players yet.

Danny Noppert does not have a great record at Ally Pally. He has never gone beyond the third round from seven visits to the Palace on the Hill. Noppert comes here in stonking form, winning seven of his last ten matches and hitting six ton plus averages, including his last six in a row.

Noppert has won five of his seven opening round matches but lost his last two. He has played some pretty weak opponents in past years yet only won one match to nil. I suspect he is going to be nervous, given his record here, and the expectations on his shoulders.

2026 PDC WC Day 6 Tip: 0.5 point Danny Noppert to win 3-1 @ 3.40 with Betfred

Gerwyn Price vs. Adam Gawlas

Price comes here in top form, winning eight of his last ten matches. His only problem recently has been playing anyone called Luke. He lost the Grand Slam semi-final to Humphries and the semi-final of the Players Championship finals to Littler. Price has won his last six opening matches here, and the last two both to nil. Previously, he had made a bit of a meal of his openers.

Gawlas was a bright young thing of darts a few years ago, was a UK Open semi-finalist in 2023, but he lost his tour card at the end of last year. He now plays on the Development Tour (he is still only 23!) finishing 11th on that OOM in 2025. He qualified for one Euro Tour event in 2025 but lost 2-6 to Gian van Veen. Gawlas won the Czech qualifier to earn his place here.

These two have played on TV before, in the 2021 European Championship. Price won that 10-3.

Price is the 1.04 favourite, Gawlas 17.00 and it is not a betting match.

2026 PDC WC Day 6 Tip: no bet

Niko Springer vs. Joe Comito

Springer has played in five TV Majors in his debut season on the Pro Tour and won five matches, most notably beating Anderson and MVG in the Grand Slam. He has lost six of his last ten matches and he had to withdraw from the Players Championship finals due to illness. Not ideal preparation for his second trip to Ally Pally. He lost 1-3 to Scott Williams last year.

Joe Comito also made his debut last year and missed a good chance to make round two when he lost 2-3 to Thibault Tricole. He played Gerwyn Price in a World Series event, losing 3-6.

Springer is the better player and the 1.11 favourite. He is a bit short at those odds, but it would be a surprise if he didn’t win. No bet.
