2026 Poland Darts Open R1 Preview
James Punt has already posted an outright betting preview for the opening Euro Tour event of the season, read that here. Check out James’ 2026 Poland Darts Open R1 preview below.
Cameron Menzies vs. Ritchie Edhouse
We haven’t seen much of Menzies since his meltdown at Ally Pally. He did his hand some damage and wouldn’t have been throwing darts for a while Since he returned to play, his form has been very poor. Played six, lost five, and had one plus 90 average and two sub-80s.
Edhouse played some good stuff at PC3 and PC4 earlier this week, with four 98+ averages and a win over Humphries in one match. His record vs. Menzies is 2-2 but given their relative recent form, Edhouse looks very easy to back.
2026 Poland Darts Open R1 Tip: 2 points Ritchie Edhouse to win @ 1.83 with Boylesports
William O’Connor vs. Andreas Harrysson
Harrysson has a 100% record from his previous four Euro Tour appearances, and he has taken a few big scalps, such as Van Veen, Barney and Michael Smith.
O’Connor has lost six of his last ten matches and hit five sub 90 averages. He lost his first five first round matches on the Euro Tour in 2025, so maybe he isn’t an early season specialist.
2026 Poland Darts Open R1 Tip: 1 point Andreas Harrysson to win @ 2.63 with BET365
Ryan Joyce vs. Boris Krcmar
In the same vein as above, Big Boris has a good record in his first round Euro Tour matches (played 11, won 9) and he too has taken some big scalps. It is harder to know what kind of form he is in as his last steel tip action was at Q school, but he is no mug player.
Joyce is a player who has hot streaks when he is top class, but more often than not, he is a bit ordinary. His recent form sees six defeats from his last ten matches with eight sub 91 averages and six sub-90s. He is not in form and worth opposing.
2026 Poland Darts Open R1 Tip: 1 point Boris Krcmar to win @ 2.38 with BET365
Andrew Gilding vs. Jeffrey de Graaf
Both players have won six of their last ten matches and both are playing some good stuff, and some not so good. De Graaf has played reasonably consistently in his last six, while Gilding has been less consistent, but has had better highs. De Graaf if 2-1 vs. Gilding and is nearly worth a bet, but odds of 2.10 are not quite big enough to be value. No Bet.
2026 Poland Darts Open R1 Tip: No Bet
Dave Chisnall vs. Daryl Pilgrim
Chisnall has been a Euro Tour specialist in days gone by, winning seven titles and three as recently as 2024. He injured his back in late 2024 and has been struggling ever since.
Occasionally, he finds a sweet spot but it is a long time since he looked like his old self. His recent form sees seven wins from his last ten, and that represents an uptick in win rate, but his scoring is still light with eight sub 92 averages. That may be enough to be see off Pilgrim, however.
Pilgrim is a player who I see playing and think, ‘he’s good’, and then he loses. He got his tour card at Q school and since then has played seven and won ten. He reached the quarter final of PC3 on Monday and beat Van Veen, Pietreczko and Ratajski, despite not scoring well.
Chisnall has played a million Euro Tour matches, Pilgrim has played in four and won two first round matches. Chizzy is the 1.80 favourite, Pilgrim 2.20. Pilgrim is almost worth a chance, but just not quite. No bet.
