Night 6 Premier League Darts Tips
The PDC Premier League returns to TV screens tonight and it promises to be another exciting evening of darts. Night 5 went very well for followers of James Punt’s free tips. He landed three winning bets at odds of 1.73, 7.00 and 2.62. Can he do the same again tonight? Check out his Night 6 Premier League Darts tips and preview below.
Night 6 Premier League: Rob Cross vs. Gary Anderson
There is very little between these two so far. Both have won two, lost two and drawn one. Anderson is scoring slightly better but nothing significant, while Cross is slightly better on the doubles and Anderson is 22-16 up in maximum’s hit. Both players are on five points and Cross is ahead in the table thanks to having a better leg difference, by just one.
They have only met three times in the PL and it is 2-1 to Gary Anderson. Two of those three matches went to a deciding leg and this match does have the look of a close one.
Their career H2H record is very much in Gary Anderson’s favour at 10-2 although Cross won their only match in 2021. Anderson is the 2.10 favourite, Cross 3.20 and the draw at 4.33.
This isn’t yet a must win match of either player, but a defeat will keep one of them in or very close to the relegation zone, so the nerves will be there.
Anderson is taken to win in a decider.

Jose de Sousa vs. James Wade
A match up between the leagues second highest scorer, and the second lowest. Needless to say, it is De Sousa who is averaging just over 100 and Wade at 92.2. When it comes to hitting doubles however, Wade is checking out at 45% and De Sousa at 36%. De Sousa is hitting a lot of 180’s, despite going for treble 19 much of his first three matches, hitting a league leading 26 compared to just 10 for Wade.
The Special One is in the relegation zone with four points but a win here and he will join the midfield pack and will still be very much in it. De Sousa took a while to get going but in his last three matches, he is averaging 104.5, compared to 93.0 for Wade in his last three.
This looks like a match where De Sousa should get to a finish first more often. It is a matter of whether he takes enough of those chances. He lacks consistency in that part of his game and his poor counting does not help. If he gives Wade too many sniffs of a chance, he will get burned.
Wade Edges The H2H
These two have only met three times, with Wade winning two but it was De Sousa who won their only televised match, the final of the Grand Slam last November 16-12.
Jose de Sousa is the 2.30 favourite, Wade at 2.75 and the draw at 4.33.
The Special One was really hitting his stride before the break (more than half his 180’s scored came in his last two matches) and if he can find that form again, it is hard to see how James Wade can overcome the likely scoring differential. De Sousa has spent the break homing with Damon Heta and Dimitri van den Bergh. Practicing with those two guys should keep his game sharp.

Night 6 Premier League: Jonny Clayton vs. Dimitri van den Bergh
Two of the debutants who are first and second in the league. The Ferret is the only player to have won three matches and he tops the table by one point. Clayton is averaging 100.9, Dimitri 99.3, the checkout rates are 38.4% and 36.7% respectively. In the 180’s department, it is 23-21 in favour of Van den Bergh.
Their H2H record is 3-1 to Dimitri and their last match was a 10-3 win for Van den Bergh in last November’s Grand Slam.
Jonny Clayton is the 2.25 favourite, Van den Bergh 2.80 and the draw 4.33.
Jonny Clayton is the form player of 2021, but Van den Bergh is on the comeback from injury and his form has definitely picked up in this PL. Their previous TV matches have not been close, but it would be no surprise to see this one, between the top 2 players in the league to end as a draw.

Glen Durrant vs. Michael van Gerwen
MVG has only beaten Duzza once in five previous meetings but they have not met since Durrant lost his form last Autumn. Such is his loss of form, even worse in the PL so far, that it is hard to see any relevance in that past form.
Durrant is bottom of the table with zero points. Five defeats from five matches. He is averaging just 87.3, 24% checkout rate and he has hit just three maximums. Van Gerwen on the other hand is averaging 99, checking out at 43% and has hit nine maximums.
These are the two lowest 180 hitting players in the league.
Michael van Gerwen is the 1.17 favourite tonight, Durrant 12.00 and the draw at 9.00. It is very hard to see how Glen will get anything out of this match unless he has rediscovered his form during the short break from the first group of matches. MVG might not have quite the same level of confidence as he used to, but his game is still strong, and he will be aware of his poor record vs. Duzza. Only one current tour card holder (Maik Kuivenhoven) has a better record against MVG than Durrant and I suspect Van Gerwen will want a 0-7 win. Leg difference could be important in what is a very tight league so far.
Glen Durrant has only been whitewashed once so far but he has yet to win more than three legs in any one match.
Night 6 Premier League Tips: 2 points MVG to win -3.5 legs @ 1.65 with Ladbrokes
Nathan Aspinall vs. Peter Wright
Both players have very similar records so far and are tied on six points. Their H2H record is 5-4 to Aspinall but in the PL it is 2-1 to Wright.
Nathan Aspinall is coming back into form and putting in some good performances while Wright generally plays to a very high level and is hard to beat, but occasionally has a day off.
Peter Wright is the 1.80 favourite, Aspinall 3.75 and the draw 4.75.
Both players have drawn two of their five matches so far and that has to be considered. However, only two of their previous nine matches have gone to a deciding leg.
Peter Wright deserves favouritism, but 1.80? That seems to underestimate Aspinall who’s game looks in better nick than it has for a while. He has gone back to his old darts and averaged 105 in his last match, a 6-6 draw with MVG.
The value would seem to be with Aspinall.
