Croatia vs Albania Match Preview

Croatia made a terrible start to the tournament and were 3-0 down by half time. The scoreline may have flattered the Spanish a little as Croatia had more shots and an impressive 53% possession.

The Croats will be hoping to bounce back from this first defeat but know they have a must win match. A draw wouldn’t be a good result for them so they will go out with an attacking display.

Albania had a dream start against Italy by scoring in the first minute (23 seconds!). Italy were level after 11 minutes and had their noses in front after 16 minutes. Albania struggled to make an impression with only 35% Possession.

My Ratings have Croatia as 1.30 favourites and it’s hard not to see them winning this match. Croatia are a couple of grades ahead of Albania and I think they should take a pretty comfortable victory.

Germany vs Hungary Match Preview

Germany produced a masterclass on Friday night. 5 goals from 5 different scorers, 10 shots on target to Scotland’s 0. They played their hard press game and gave their opponents little chance to settle. It’s hard to see them struggling against an inferior Hungary side. My ratings make Germany 1.75 favourites, which is bang on the Asian Line.

Hungary’s first match was a ‘must not lose’ match against Switzerland. Sadly for them, they lost the match 3-1 leaving them with an uphill task to qualify for the last 16. They know that they must get at least a point against the hosts or they are as good as out of the competition.

I’m finding it hard to come up with a selection for this match as the odds seem bang on, but I do think the Germans can get the win.

Scotland vs Switzerland Match Preview

Friday night was a horror story for the Scots. They lost 5-1 to the host nation and had no shots in the match, on or off target, and no Corners either. An own goal by Rudiger was the only highlight Scotland can look back on.

They also had a player red carded just on half time for a ludicrous tackle in the penalty area. Scotland know they can still qualify for the Last 16 if they can get at least a point (or three) here and a win over Hungary.

Switzerland will be more than happy after collecting a much needed 3 points in their opener against Hungary. It puts them in a good position for making the knockout stages.

Before the tournament, I thought there was very little between Switzerland, Scotland and Hungary. Although Switzerland did well and Scotland got smashed, I’m going to go with the logic that the line has moved too far against Scotland.
