Slovenia vs Serbia Match Preview

Slovenia will be very happy with their first game point against Denmark. Both teams now know this is a MUST WIN game, a draw isn’t good for either team. I’m of the opinion this will be a very tight game and it could go either way.

Serbia will be buoyed by their performance against England, despite losing 0-1. After the first 20 minutes Serbia settled down into a good rhythm and had every chance of getting something from the game.

Looking at the opening matches, I would expect Serbia to have 60% possession. The odds for a Serbia win are quite short and offer very little value.

Denmark vs England Match Preview

Denmark will be disappointed with their opening draw against Slovenia. It was important to take all three points but they could only take one.

They were second favourites for this group but now they need to find a win from matches against England or Serbia. Not an easy task. Defensively, Denmark look quite solid and to me that is their strength. I don’t see them causing England too many problems in attack with a front 3 of Eriksen, Hojlund and Wind.

England produced a very workmanlike performance against Serbia but they will be happy with the 3 points. I’m sure they will get better as the tournament goes on. England should now qualify for the knockout stages but they will need an upsurge in form if they are going to go all the way.

Spain vs Italy Match Preview

Spain started their Euro 2024 campaign with a convincing 3-0 winning performance over a good Croatia side. They come into this match with a big opportunity of reaching the last 16. With Albania to play, and a head to head edge over Croatia, a draw here should secure a place in the next round.

Italy know this is a hard match for them to win and like Spain, they would also take a point if offered. That would mean they only need to avoid defeat against Croatia to qualify and even a loss could still mean qualification as a best third placed team.

The last 3 matches between these two nations have seen 2 x 2-1 Victories for Spain and a 1-1 Draw in Euro 2020 with the Italians going through on penalties. As the draw would suit both teams, that has to be my tip.
