2024 NFL Regular Season GW12

MINNESOTA VIKINGS (8-2) @ CHICAGO BEARS (4-6)

Vegas Line: Minnesota -3.5; Total Points 39.0

My Rating: Minnesota -5.1; Total Points 39.0

Minnesota come into this match just one win behind the Superbowl favourites Detroit. The Vikings had a messy win at Tennessee last weekend and this will be their third road match in a row. This will be a much harder match than their previous two and they will need to improve on last week’s display.

Chicago actually played well last week after a few poor displays. Rookie QB Caleb Williams had one of his best performances of the season and hopefully he will build on that. I can see this as being a close game with both teams feeling they can win this match up.

2024 NFL Regular Season GW12 Tip: CHICAGO BEARS + 3.5 POINTS

DETROIT LIONS (9-1) @ INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (5-6)

Vegas Line: Detroit Lions -7.5; Total Points 49.5

My Ratings: Detroit Lions -8.5; Total Points 48.2

The trailblazing Detroit Lions have become Superbowl favourite after last weekend’s emphatic 52-6 win against Jacksonville. Total Yards 645 – 170 was a massive performance. The Lions have destroyed Dallas and Tennessee as well this season. I’m really not sure how the Colts’ defense will be able to stop the Lions’ offense.

Indianapolis are back with Anthony Richardson at Quarterback and he produced good numbers last week against the Jets. When he has started as QB he has covered 7.5 points in all 6 matches this season. It is hard to see the Colts winning this match but I’m also not too sure they will get blown away. Hard to call.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (3-8) @ MIAMI DOLPHINS (4-6)

Vegas Line: Miami -7.5; Total Points 46.5

My Ratings: Miami -8.5; Total Points 41.4

New England seem to have found a good Rookie QB in Derrick Maye This team are slowly improving but they won’t be making this year’s playoffs and are just trying to get themselves some good results for a better run next season.

Miami are a different team when QB Tagovalioa is calling the shots. Since his return 4 games ago the Dolphins have played with loads of confidence. They still need to keep winning matches to make the playoffs, defeat in this match would be unacceptable and it would be season over. Big match for the Dolphins but the 7.5 line makes it hard to pick them. I’ll have to take the Patriots.

2024 NFL Regular Season GW12 Tip: NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS +7.5 POINTS

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (4-6) @ NEW YORK GIANTS (2-8)

Vegas Line: Tampa Bay -5.5; Total Points 41.5

My Ratings: Tampa Bay -6; Total Points 42.5

Both teams are coming off a much needed bye week. Tampa Bay have had a difficult run of matches that has seen their season go from (4-2) to (4-6), but they have a good run of matches now and they’ll be hoping they can finish with a 10-7 season.

Just when you thought the Giants couldn’t get any worse, they decide to replace their No.1 QB with their No.3 QB. Tommy DeVito has had two weeks practice to get some action together in a team that lost to Carolina in Germany two weeks ago.

I never like it when teams change their QB, especially one who seems inferior. Back the Buccs.

2024 NFL Regular Season GW12 Tip: TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS -5.5 POINTS

DALLAS COWBOYS (3-7) @ WASHINGTON COMMANDERS (7-4)

Vegas Line: Washington -10.5; Total Points 45

My Ratings: Washington -9.4; Total Points 47.8

After I gave QB Cooper Rush a roasting before last week’s game, his pass numbers against Houston were quite good. Unfortunately for Dallas, he was sacked five times and they still lack a rushing game. This is a divisional match up and I think Dallas getting a double digit start becomes a tempting play.

Washington are still playoff bound and should tick off another win here. Last time out they were fairly beaten by divisional rivals Philadelphia and they will be pleased to get back to winning ways, although I believe the line is a tough one to beat.

2024 NFL Regular Season GW12 Tip: DALLAS COWBOYS +10.5 POINTS

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (9-1) @ CAROLINA PANTHERS (3-7)

Vegas Line: Kansas City -11; Total Points 43

My Ratings: Kansas City -10.2; Total Points 45.1

As strange as it may sound, I believe Kansas City will feel good about finally losing to end their long winning streak and it ended against a good team in Buffalo. The Chiefs still managed to outscore the Bills in yardage, which is something positive to take out of that match.

Carolina come into this match with a winning streak of two, eat your heart out KC! The Panthers are still probably the worst team in the NFL and will be lucky if they can just stay in the game. KC don’t often blow teams away but Carolina are a few grades below your average team. In their last meeting in 2020 there was 64 points in the match, so backing over points could be tempting but I’ll swerve this one.

TENNESSEE TITANS (2-8) @ HOUSTON TEXANS (7-4)

Vegas Line: Houston -9; Total Points 41

My Ratings: Houston -11.5; Total Points 43.9

The Tennessee Titans come into this match up with just  pride to play for. Although their yardage numbers have been good all season, they still haven’t worked out how to score points and I’m sure Houston won’t be giving QB Will Levis and his team many opportunities.

The Houston Texans got their season back on track in Dallas on Monday Night with a comfortable 34-10 win. QB C.J. Stroud controlled the match, mixing it up with good passing numbers for Collins and Dell and another solid 100+ yard performance for Rusher Joe Mixon.

The line may seem a bit high but I can’t see the Titans scoring more than 14 points and this Houston offense looks fairly capable of racking up points so I’m going for an easy Texans win.

2024 NFL Regular Season GW12 Tip: HOUSTON TEXANS -9 POINTS

DENVER BRONCOS (6-5) @ LAS VEGAS RAIDERS (2-8)

Vegas Line: Denver -5; Total Points 40.5

My Ratings: Denver -3.8; Total Points 43.8

Not much was expected of Denver before the season started and a positive record would have been an above average season. These last two weeks have proved that Denver are coming along nicely with good team performances. Rookie QB Bo Nix was QB of the week last week after the 38-6 thrashing of Atlanta.

Las Vegas are on a six game losing streak and although QB Gardner Minshew’s team are hitting okay yardage numbers, so are their opponents. Las Vegas come into this match with a long injury list and I can’t see them beating an on fire Broncos team.

2024 NFL Regular Season GW12 Tip: DENVER BRONCOS -5 POINTS

SAN FRANCISCO 49ers (5-5) @ GREEN BAY PACKERS (7-3)

Vegas Line: Green Bay -3; Total Points 47

My Ratings: Green Bay -3.4; Total Points 46.3

San Francisco are currently even money to make the playoffs. It’s a price I would swerve as they have a testing few matches ahead and they aren’t playing well. This is a big game for the 49ers, especially as they have to travel to Buffalo next week.

Obviously, the 49ers on their day can beat anyone as they have plenty of good players but it just hasn’t really happened for them this season. Last weekend’s Home defeat when -6.5 favourites just sums up where the 49ers are right now.

Green Bay are unfortunate that they are in the NFC North as they have two hot teams Detroit and Minnesota above them. This last month the Packers have been making heavy weather of matches and just scraped home last week in Chicago 20-19. With away matches against their Divisional rivals to come they know this is a must win match to stay in with a chance of a playoff berth.

A tricky match to call but a great one to watch. No bet.

ARIZONA CARDINALS (6-4) @ SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (5-5)

Vegas Line: Seattle -1; Total Points 48

My Ratings: Arizona -1; Total Points 45.4

I’m not sure Arizona wanted the bye week to come after taking their winning streak to 4 on the trot and going two matches without conceding a Touchdown (and three in a row at home). All four of their recent wins were against mid table teams, so the Cardinals have had no soft games. The NFC West is an exciting Division to follow with all 4 teams still capable of coming out on top.

Seattle threw their hat into the Divisional race last week with a surprise but deserved win in San Francisco. They now play Arizona twice in three weeks as the season stays interesting for both these clubs.

A big game for both teams and in my opinion both have a 50-50 chance of winning.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (8-2) @ LOS ANGELES RAMS (5-5)

Vegas Line: Philadelphia -3; Total Points 49.5

My Ratings: Philadelphia -3.8; Total Points 44.2

Philadelphia are No.2 in the NFC Conference and are looking like a team that is getting their game together at the right time. Winning the big NFC East match up with Washington puts them in a good position. The Eagles come into this match after a ten day rest.

The L.A. Rams have won four of their last five matches but are still yet to reach the heights of this team’s full potential. Last week they beat New England 28-22 which is a solid performance but not Wow! At this point of the season every game is a must win for the Rams but they are up against a team that are better than them at the moment and I fear for them here.
