INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (5-7) @ NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (3-9)

Vegas Line: Indianapolis -2.5; Total Points 42.0

My Rating: Indianapolis -0.9; Total Points 42.2

This is hardly the match of the weekend with both teams just going through the motions. Indianapolis struggled last week against Detroit, losing at home 24-6. This should be an easier match up for them but the Colts could be missing WR Josh Downs and he is a big player for this team.

New England are also struggling and found Miami too good for them last week. This match is the easiest of their end of season schedule and they are underdogs for this one.

I couldn’t pick either team here with great confidence. No bet.

PITTSBURGH STEELERS (8-3) @ CINCINNATI BENGALS (4-7)

Vegas Line: Cincinnati -2.5; Total Points 47.5

My Ratings: Cincinnati -2.1; Total Points 50.3

Pittsburgh ended their five game winning streak last week with a divisional loss in Cleveland by 24-15. They still lead the AFC North but have Baltimore only a half game behind, so every game is a must win.

Cincinnati have the luxury of coming off a Bye Week and although having a 4-7 record they are better than this suggests. With their hardest fixtures behind them, they could still go on a good end of season run and I fancy them to win this.

2024 NFL Regular Season GW13 Pick: CINCINNATI BENGALS -2.5 POINTS

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS (7-4) @ ATLANTA FALCONS (6-5)

Vegas Line: L.A. Chargers -1; Total Points 48.0

My Ratings: L.A. Chargers -0.5; Total Points 45.1

The L.A. Chargers come into this match on a short week having been beaten by Baltimore on Monday night 30-23. Before that loss they had four straight wins. The Chargers will be missing their star Running Back JK Dobbins for this match. Gus Edwards will take the role of main running back but he isn’t as good as Dobbins, no matter how much the Chargers talk him up.

The Atlanta Falcons have the advantage of coming off a Bye Week after suffering two defeats. Their form has dipped in recent weeks but they still lead what is a poor division. With the extra rest day’s and Dobbins being out, Atlanta have everything in their favour. I should be tipping them, but I just don’t think they are as good as the Chargers.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (6-5) @ NEW YORK JETS (3-8)

Vegas Line: Seattle -1; Total Points 42.5

My Ratings: Seattle -0.5; Total Points 42.0

The Seattle Seahawks come into this match with with two big wins under their belt, beating Divisional rivals San Francisco and Arizona. So every match from here on in is crucial for them.

The NY Jets have had a Bye Week but it’s safe to say their season is over. QB Aaron Rodgers will be 41 on Monday and is still (sort of) going strong. He may need a good passing game in this match as it looks like the Jets will be without RB Breece Hall, who if he doesn’t make it will be a big loss.

Seattle have more to play for here and although the Jets are rested up, they will struggle to get a running game going. I’ll take Seattle to cover the spread.

2024 NFL Regular Season GW13 Pick: SEATTLE SEAHAWKS -1 POINT

HOUSTON TEXANS (7-5) @ JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (2-9)

Vegas Line: Houston -4.0; Total Points 43.5

My Ratings: Houston -3.5; Total Points 47.7

The Houston Texans’ season has hit the rails in recent weeks. They have gone from a 5-1 season to a 7-5 so they are struggling for form. Houston know they must improve on last week’s loss against Tennessee when their performance was poor.

I will try to disregard Jacksonville’s last two hapless defeats as their No.2 QB just isn’t good enough. Trevor Lawrence is back this weekend and hopefully 100% fit. You only realise how good your QB is when he is missing, and boy have they missed Lawrence.

Two teams that are out of form, no bet.

2024 NFL Regular Season GW13 Pick: NO BET

ARIZONA CARDINALS (6-5) @ MINNESOTA VIKINGS (9-2)

Vegas Line: Minnesota -3.5; Total Points 44.5

My Ratings: Minnesota -5.5; Total Points 41.5

The Arizona Cardinals remain slight favourites for the NFC West but know they will need a good run in to secure a playoff position. To score just two field goals last week would’ve been disappointing to this Cardinals team against divisional rivals Seattle but on the upside, their defense has not conceded a touchdown in three straight games and in four of their last five.

Arizona are 1-2 against NFC North teams so far, so this will be another battle against the division’s second ranked team.

Minnesota started the season 5-0 and many think they have regressed since then. I’m going to disagree as this team are still going strong and winning games. Minnesota have four home matches out of six to come and they could still easily take the number one berth off Detroit before the season is out.

I feel Minnesota will have too much for Arizona and they should win this match and cover the spread.

2024 NFL Regular Season GW13 Pick: MINNESOTA VIKINGS -3.5 POINTS

TENNESSEE TITANS (3-8) @ WASHINGTON COMMANDERS (7-5)

Vegas Line: Washington -5.5; Total Points 45

My Ratings: Washington -6.8; Total Points 48.4

Just when you think Tennessee would be easy pickings for the rest of the season, they pull out a comfortable win when 9 point underdogs vs Houston. Their total match yardage has been good all season but they give away too many points. Confidence is high at the moment and I would be wary to oppose them.

Washington were riding high a few weeks back. Now after three defeats they are struggling to make the playoffs. Losing last week when big favourites (-7.5) against Dallas is going to hurt this team badly. On paper, this match is the easiest of Washington final five games, so it’s a must win. Will they do it? I’m not so sure. No bet.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (5-6) @ CAROLINA PANTHERS (3-8)

Vegas Line: Tampa Bay -5.5; Total Points 46.5

My Ratings: Tampa Bay -3.4; Total Points 50.3

Tampa Bay ended a run of 4 defeats with an easy win against the NY Giants (without their No.1 QB), so I’m not going to go to overboard on that victory. The fixture list has turned out to be probably the toughest one in the NFL. So far, they have played Detroit, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Kansas and San Francisco, winning two of them.

Carolina played their best game of the season last week when running the Superbowl Champions close, losing 30-27 (11 point underdogs). So although they are ranked the worst team in the NFL, they have improved over their last three matches.

Too tough to call, no bet.

LOS ANGELES RAMS (5-6) @ NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (4-7)

Vegas Line: L.A. Rams -2.5; Total Points 49

My Ratings: New Orleans -0.9; Total Points 46.1

The L.A. Rams still have slender playoff hopes as they are only one game back in the Wide open NFC West. Last week they couldn’t stop Philadelphia’s running game, conceding 314 rushing yards. On their day you would expect the Rams to win this match but they aren’t playing up to the standard I expected this season.

The New Orleans Saints come into this match after a Bye Week. New Orleans’ season has been ravaged by early season injuries but many of these players are back now and their form should improve towards the end of the season. I’m sitting on the fence in this game.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (9-2) @ BALTIMORE RAVENS (8-4)

Vegas Line: Baltimore -3; Total Points 51

My Ratings: Baltimore -0.9; Total Points 50

This is the match of the weekend. Not only have Philadelphia won seven matches in a row, they have won them all quite impressively. To be fair, they have had a reasonably soft fixture list but still, this team is very good. After this match they go back to reasonably easy fixtures until the playoffs, where they will probably be seeded 2 in the NFC Conference.

This match features the best two Running Backs in the NFL, No. 1 Derrick Henry (Baltimore) vs No. 2 Saquon Barkley (Philadelphia), although Quarterbacks Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts will be calling some big shots too.

Although Baltimore have made hard work of this season and are still somehow half a game behind Pittsburgh, they are a strong contender to reach the Conference Final. I’m usually keen on tipping the Ravens but this is a cracking match up and I’ve no idea who will come out on top.

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (5-6) @ BUFFALO BILLS (9-2)

Vegas Line: Buffalo -7; Total Points 44.5

My Ratings: Buffalo -8.5; Total Points 47.2

The wheels have well and truly come off the 49ers and this is as tough as it gets. QB Brock Purdy missed last week’s match and may or may not return this weekend. If he plays, he will only be 80% fit and if he doesn’t play, backup QB Brandon Allen isn’t up to a high enough level to worry the Buffalo Bills.

The Buffalo Bills have won six in a row and already have one foot in the playoffs. A win here will give them the AFC Championship with 5 rounds to spare. To make things even harder for the 49ers, Buffalo are coming off a Bye Week and before that, they beat Double Superbowl Champions Kansas City. No pressure on San Francisco then …
