2024 College Football GW15 Picks

We are moving to the business end of the NCAAF season and Jan Keys is changing it up. It has been a struggle for the last few weeks but this week, he has focused in on just two matches to hopefully get back to winning ways. Check out his 2024 College Football GW15 picks below.

SEC Championship Game Preview

Texas Longhorns (11-1) vs Georgia Bulldogs (10-2)

Venue: Mercedes Benz Stadium, Atlanta, Georgia

The Texas Longhorns suffered only one defeat all season, losing 30-15 at Home to today’s Championship game rivals Georgia Bulldogs (Texas were 5 point favourites). That day, Georgia led 23-0 at half time and although Texas did come back in the 3rd quarter to make the score 23-15, another TD by Georgia in the fourth quarter secured the win. Last week, Texas (-5 points) beat Texas A&M 17-7, which was a good result.

The Georgia Bulldogs lost two matches this regular season, firstly to Alabama Crimson Tide 41-34 (Georgia -2), then later to Ole Miss Rebels (Georgia -2.5) 28-10. Both defeats were against good sides but Georgia have high standards and would’ve been pretty disappointed by those defeats.

Before the season started, Georgia were rated 4 points better than Texas but after last weekend’s poor performance by the Georgia Bulldogs (-19.5 pts) winning 44-42 against Georgia Tech, I have Texas rated 5 points better than Georgia. It is fine margins between these two teams but on current form I’m going for the Texas Longhorns to cover the spread.

2024 College Football GW15 Pick: Texas Longhorns -3 points @ 1.95

Big Ten Championship Game

Oregon Ducks (12-0) vs Penn State Nittany Lions (11-1)

Venue: Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis

The Oregon Ducks are the only team to have a 12-0 record this season but they are not rated the best team by many judges. They did have a few close wins, beating Boise State 37-34, Ohio State 32-31 and Wisconsin 16-13.

Penn State lost one match this regular season to Ohio State 20-13. They also got away with some close calls, beating USC 33-30 and Minnesota 26-25. Both teams come into this match with comfortable home wins last weekend against soft opposition.

This is a tough one to call, but I feel Penn State are just a little behind the Ducks and they were poor when losing to Ohio State, so I’m going for another favourite and backing Oregon to win and cover a 3.5 point spread.
