NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (4-8) @ NEW YORK GIANTS (2-10)

Vegas Line: New Orleans -5; Total Points 41.0

My Rating: New Orleans -4.3; Total Points 41.1

The season is long gone for the Giants and New Orleans’ playoff chances hang on a thread because their NFC South Division is poor and still up for grabs. New Orleans haven’t been playing too badly these last few weeks with recent wins over Atlanta and Cleveland. This is a must win match for the Saints.

The Giants are a mess. They have released No.1 QB Daniel Jones, tried and failed with No.2 QB Tommy DeVito and are now on No.3 QB Drew Lock, who admittedly had a good game last week against Dallas. Injuries are also mounting up for this hapless team and the end of season can’t come soon enough.

CLEVELAND BROWNS (3-9) @ PITTSBURGH STEELERS (9-3)

Vegas Line: Pittsburgh -7; Total Points 44.0

My Ratings: Pittsburgh -9.4; Total Points 48.3

Cleveland haven’t won a regular season match in Pittsburgh in twenty outings. So much for a divisional ‘rivalry’.

Cleveland’s offence has improved since the injury to No.1 QB Deshaun Watson with No.2 QB Jameis Winston proving to be a bigger asset to the team. On Monday night Cleveland were defeated by Denver 41-32, with their wide receiver Jerry Jeudy landing impressive figures of 9 catches for 235 yards. Long may this continue.

Pittsburgh are under no illusions; this is a must win match for them with their next three games being away to Philadelphia and Baltimore then at home to Kansas. QB Russell Wilson is still putting in big numbers and another hot offensive display is expected here. However, we’ll leave this one alone. No bet.

ATLANTA FALCONS (6-6) @ MINNESOTA VIKINGS (10-2)

Vegas Line: Minnesota -5.5; Total Points 46.0

My Ratings: Minnesota -6.8; Total Points 44.6

Interesting yardage numbers for both these franchises last weekend. Minnesota won their match with fewer yards, and Atlanta lost their match with more yards.

Atlanta come into this match on a three game losing streak, although last week was an improved performance from the week before. Atlanta QB Kirk Cousins returns to Minnesota where he spent five seasons, and that should be a positive for the Falcons.

Minnesota don’t look like a 10-2 team at the moment but continue to scrape wins, beating Chicago in overtime and then getting a narrow, late win over Arizona to keep them going. They struggled with their rushing game last week and it doesn’t look like improving this week. The Falcons are worth taking with a 5.5 point head start.

LAS VEGAS RAIDERS (2-10) @ TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (6-6)

Vegas Line: Tampa Bay -7; Total Points 47.0

My Ratings: Tampa Bay -6.8; Total Points 50.1

Las Vegas come into this match full of confidence, even on an eight match losing streak. A great Thanksgiving performance in Kansas shows the team is full of optimism, losing 19-17 when 13 point underdogs.

Tampa Bay still have a great chance of winning the NFC South Division and making the playoffs. They have a soft run in and if they are any good, they should reach the post-season by default. However, I’m not sure I would back Tampa to win by more than seven points as they simply aren’t that good.

CAROLINA PANTHERS (3-9) @ PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (10-2)

Vegas Line: Philadelphia -13; Total Points 46.0

My Ratings: Philadelphia -17.4; Total Points 46.7

Carolina are allegedly the worst team in the NFL but have covered the line in their last 4 matches. They have improved immensely recently and are given a very generous start here.

Philadelphia are in the zone right now and along with Buffalo and Detroit, they are blowing hot. They have four of their five games at home before the playoffs. I believe they can cover the spread if they play full on, it’s just that they don’t need to push themselves. They’ll be happy with any sort of a win and with that in mind, we’ll swerve this one. No bet.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (2-10) @ TENNESSEE TITANS (3-9)

Vegas Line: Tennessee -3.5; Total Points 40.0

My Ratings: Tennessee -1.3; Total Points 48.3

I look at these two team’s results and see lots of similarities and I wouldn’t be surprised by whoever wins this match. I wouldn’t take Tennessee the wrong side of 3 points. My personal ratings make the bookies’ Total Points line too short, so I would back over points in this one.

2024 NFL REGULAR SEASON GW14 TIP: TOTAL POINTS OVER 40

NEW YORK JETS (3-9) @ MIAMI DOLPHINS (5-7)

Vegas Line: Miami -6.5; Total Points 44.5

My Ratings: Miami -6.8; Total Points 43.3

For the last two seasons the bookmakers have supported the New York Jets. They keep coming up with ‘they’re a good team, they are just unlucky.’ If the bookies lines were correct, they would be on a 9-3 season instead of a 3-9. It’s time for the Jets to think about next season as QB Aaron Rodgers’ days are numbered.

Miami lost their big Thanksgiving day outing to Green Bay and know that losing here is not an option. Miami have had longer recovery time compared to The Jets and I feel they will keep up their home form and blow the visitors away.

2024 NFL REGULAR SEASON GW14 TIP: MIAMI DOLPHINS -6.5 POINTS

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (7-5) @ ARIZONA CARDINALS (6-6)

Vegas Line: Arizona -2.5; Total Points 44.5

My Ratings: Arizona -3.8; Total Points 41.7

Seattle sits top of the NFC West and are on a three game win streak. They have a tough final five games and they all look close matches on paper. A couple of weeks ago Seattle shut out Arizona in a 16-6 victory with the Seahawks stopping their rushing game.

For Arizona losing to Seattle hurt. They then lost 23-22 to a good Vikings team last weekend so I’m feeling their pain.

This is a must win match for the Cardinals as a loss would put them 2.5 games behind the Seahawks, but a win here and a soft run in could see them aiming high. Who are the better team? I believe Arizona are and with home field advantage and everything on the line, I expect Arizona to win.

BUFFALO BILLS (10-2) @ LOS ANGELES RAMS (6-6)

Vegas Line: Buffalo -4.5; Total Points 49.0

My Ratings: Buffalo -6; Total Points 46.2

Buffalo have blown away last season’s Superbowl finalists in their last two matches. The Bills remain half a win behind Kansas for the Number One seed but know this match, and Detroit next week, will make or break their top spot ambitions.

The Rams know it’s all to play for in their topsy turvy Division. They’re a good side but recent home losses to Miami and Philadelphia do show they’re limited. I wanted to tip the Rams but I’m not convinced it would be the right choice.

2024 NFL REGULAR SEASON GW14 TIP: No Bet

CHICAGO BEARS (4-8) @ SAN FRANCISCO 49ers (5-7)

Vegas Line: San Francisco -3.5; Total Points 44.0

My Ratings: San Francisco -3; Total Points 43.9

The Chicago Bears must feel unlucky this year at finding themselves in a Division with three very good teams. On Thanksgiving they went to Detroit as 10 point underdogs and lost 23-20 with a fine performance. Previous Divisional losses to Green Bay (20-19) and Minnesota (30-27) just show how good the Bears are, and it would be foolish to rule them out for next season.

San Francisco have had a season to forget. When all their players are healthy, they are a very good side. They still have a slim chance of making the playoffs but in their hearts, they know they are off the pace. Losing 35-10 to Buffalo just isn’t good enough.

Brock Purdy wasn’t fully fit and maybe should’ve rested an extra week. To make matters worse for the 49ers, star RB Christian McCaffrey is out for the season and his back up RB Jordan Mason is also injured. Tough times indeed for the 49ers.

2024 NFL REGULAR SEASON GW14 TIP: CHICAGO BEARS +3.5 POINTS

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS (8-4) @ KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (11-1)

Vegas Line:  Kansas City -3.5; Total Points 42.5

My Ratings:  Kansas City -3; Total Points 42.2

The L.A. Chargers are somehow 8-4 for the season, I’m just not sure they are that good. They won in Atlanta last weekend 17-13 but it was an unmerited win. They are still in good shape for the playoffs so they have it all to play for. KC beat LA 17-10 in Week 4 but Kansas were in good form then.

Kansas City seem to have dropped off a bit in recent weeks and although they keep winning, narrow victories against Carolina and Las Vegas aren’t brilliant. On the upside for Chiefs fans, Kansas have had a couple extra rest days. I’m not a big KC fan but I think they have far too much for the Chargers on Sunday night.
