2025 PDC WC Tuesday Evening Preview
James Punt hit the bullseye with his only tip for this afternoon’s session. Check out his 2025 PDC WC Tuesday Evening preview and tips below.
Jeffrey de Graaf vs. Rashad Sweeting
A good draw for De Graaf, who will face Gary Anderson in the second round. The adopted Swedish player has averaged 92.53 in the last three months and has won six of his last ten matches. He is a consistent player, with eight of his last ten games seeing averages in the mid or high 90s.
Rashad Sweeting is the first player from The Bahamas to play in a world championship. He qualified via the South American and Caribbean order of merit. He has never played on TV before and averaged 76.13 over the last three months. This will be a real thrill for him, but ultimately pointless.
He is the 15.00 outsider, and De Graaf is now just 1.44 to win 3-0, in from 1.57 yesterday, which actually looked on the generous side. This is not really a darts match.
2025 PDC WC Tuesday Evening Tip: No Bet
Ricardo Pietreczko vs. Zong Xiaochen
We have had nine Chinese players play at Ally Pally and they have yet to win a match, and between them, they have only ever won two sets, both by Zong against Kyle Anderson, six years ago.
Zong made his third appearance at Ally Pally last year and averaged a respectable 85 against Micky Mansell, but still lost 0-3 and won just three legs. Getting drawn to play a Chinese qualifier has been a free pass into the next round and it is very likely to be the case here.
Pikachu can be a bit of a prick at times, but he is a decent player and will have plenty of support from the large number of German fans who make the pilgrimage to Alexandra Palace every year. He has won five of his last ten matches but his consistency is shocking. In his last ten he has hit a ton plus average and a 77, with everything in between. His B game will be good enough, but his C game? That would be interesting.
Zong has won seven of his last ten matches on the Asian Tour and has averaged 82.38 in the last three months, compared to 90.69 for Pietreczko. Zhou is the only Chinese player to win a set here and he is the best player in a nation of 1.4 billion people, so he cannot be dismissed out of hand, but he is hard to fancy.
Pietreczko is the 1.13 favourite and this is another no bet match.
2025 PDC WC Tuesday Evening Tip: No bet
Ryan Meikle vs. Fallon Sherrock
A potentially tricky one for The Barber. The crowd will be on Sherrock’s side and it will feel a bit lonely for Miekle.
Meikle has won five of his last ten matches but lost four of his last five. In his defence, he has faced some top rank opponents like Noppert, Schindler, Michael Smith and Dirk van Duijvenbode. He beat Gary Anderson 6-5 in the Players Championship finals. He is playing ok, a bit too inconsistent at times, but we should expect a low to mid 90 average. Meikle has played in four World Championships and reached the second round in the last two years.
Fallon Sherrock is still dining out on her run to the third round here in 2020. In her next three appearances at Ally Pally, she has lost in the first round. She took two sets off Steve Beaton in 2022, and one set against Evans and Wattimena in the last two years.
In her six matches here, Sherrock has won two, and never been whitewashed in defeat. That suggests she should get something on the scoreboard, but so long as Meikle plays to his recent form, he wins. Miekle has averaged 92.94 over the last three months, Sherrock 77.95.
2025 PDC WC Tuesday Evening Tip: 0.5 point Ryan Meikle to win 3-1 @ 3.40 with Fitzdares
Peter Wright vs. Wesley Plaisier
Two time World Champion, Peter Wright, is in dire form. He has lost eight of his last ten matches, one of them to Plaisier. His last five averages have all been sub 90s. Wright will have a been at home, preparing for this, but he cannot be feeling in anyway confident.
Snakebite has won eleven of his opening matches in the World Championship. He lost 0-3 to Jim Williams last year, and his game is in worse shape now. He has averaged 91.18 over the last three months and his checkout rate has fallen to 34.58%.
Poor Plaisier
Wesley Plaisier was very poor against Ryusei Azemoto yesterday. He eventually won it 3-2 but he only averaged 82.56. He put it all down to nerves. Plaisier tried to speed his game up to settle down and it just made things worse, but in the end he prevailed.
He says he expects to be much more relaxed now that he has played that first round match. It was his second low 80 average in a row, having lost 1-6 to Ross Smith at the Players Championship finals. Plaisier has not been in great form of late, averaging 91.03 over the last three months, very much at the same level as an out of form Wright.
Their H2H record is 1-0 to Plaisier. That was a 6-4 win in the final players championship event of the season back in October.
Peter Wright is the 1.73 favourite, Plaisier 2.20. Seeing Wright as a favourite is a rare thing these days. Plaisier can be a lot better than he showed yesterday and he will need to be, even against an out of form Wright. The Dutchman should be more relaxed after getting that first round match out of the way, and he just about gets the nod.
