2025 European Darts GP Sunday Preview
Now, it is time for James Punt’s final darts preview of the weekend. Check out his 2025 European Darts GP Sunday betting preview below.
Martin Lukeman vs. Raymond van Barneveld
Gerwyn Price losing to Barney was a big surprise, Heta losing to Lukeman not so much. RVB has won five of his last ten matches and hits a lot of mid 90 averages, but about one in five dips into the 80s. That is what will stop him winning titles.
Smash can be a top player on his day, as we saw when he carried our outright bet to the final of the Grand Slam last year. He is not in the kind of form that he was back then, however. He has won seven of his last ten matches but has hit four sub 90 averages, and more importantly, no ton plus ones.
Their H2H record is 2-1 to Lukeman and he won their last match 6-4 in February.
Barney is the 1.91 favourite, Lukeman 2.00. It is a very hard one to call and I am a no bet on this one.
2025 European Darts GP Sunday Tip: No Bet
Rob Cross vs. Gary Anderson
Cross is struggling to win matches right now, losing seven of his last ten. He hasn’t got beyond the third round stage on the Euro Tour in 2025. Anderson reached the semi-final of ET2 back in March. He has only played in four Players Championship events since then as he plays the lightest of schedules. Anderson averaged 110 in a 6-5 win over Gian van Veen yesterday. Not bad after a month off.
Their H2H record is 16-4 to Anderson. They only play once or twice a year these days and Anderson has won their last two, both, very surprisingly, have been on the Euro Tour. One was in the semi-final here in 2024 which Anderson won 7-5 and the other a 6-2 win in 2023. Both were low quality affairs.
Anderson is very motivated. If he can win the title, or maybe just be runner up, he can withdraw from the rest of the Euro Tours and still qualify for the European Championship.
2025 European Darts GP Sunday Tip: 1 point Gary Anderson to win @ 1.73 with Betfred, Betvictor
Niels Zonneveld vs. James Wade
Zonneveld is getting the hang of the Euro Tour these days and he was an easy winner against Aspinall yesterday. He is not a great talent but with a win rate of 64%, he cannot be dismissed easily. He also has a very recent win over Wade, beating him 6-2 in ET4 two weeks ago.
Wade has won five of his last ten matches and he hasn’t been playing well. He is 6-4 against Zonneveld and on the Euro Tour, it is 1-1, both ending 6-2.
2025 European Darts GP Sunday Tip: 1 point Zonneveld to win @ 2.15 with Ladbrokes
Dirk van Duijvenbode vs. Martin Schindler
Dirk finally got a stage win over a very under par MVG last night. It was a 6-3 win but as Dirk said, Michael just didn’t show up, averaging a lowly 89. He now faces the Mighty Atom, Martin Schindler who is a Euro Tour specialist.
Dirk has won seven of his last ten matches and is desperate to win one of these titles, of which Schindler now has three. Schindler has won nine of his last ten matches, all of them on the Euro Tour. He hasn’t played any earth shattering stuff, but he can just dig out wins. He has played twenty Euro Tour matches in 2025 and won sixteen.
Their H2H record is 4-3 to Schindler. They have only met once on the Euro Tour and Schindler won that 6-4 last year. Schindler is the 2.10 outsider, which is strange, Dirk the 1.80 favourite, but that is because he is more fan friendly, just not in Germany, which where this is being played.
2025 European Darts GP Sunday Tip: 1 point Martin Schindler to win @ 2.10 with SpreadEx
Cameron Menzies vs. Peter Wright
Menzies proved to be a hoodoo once again for Stephen Bunting, winning 6-2. He has won seven of his last ten matches but had four sub 90 averages in there. His 2025 win rate is up to 75% and that is better than anyone in this tournament.
Peter Wright can only dream of having a 75% win rate these days. He averaged 105 in a 6-4 win over Leon Weber. He has lost five of his last ten matches, but the last time he was hitting ton plus averages, he reached the final of PC11, which he lost to…. Cameron Menzies.
This is Snakebite territory. He has won here twice, and been runner up twice Their H2H record is 3-2 to Menzies and on the Euro Tour, Menzies is 2-1. Menzies beat Wright 8-3 in the PC11 final despite Snakebite averaging 103.
Wright is the 1.91 favourite with Menzies 2.00.
2025 European Darts GP Sunday Tip: 1 point Cameron Menzies to win @ 2.00 with SpreadEx
Andrew Gilding vs. Danny Noppert
Gilding edged past Jonny Clayton last night in a scrappy match. He has won six of his last ten matches but he has not gone beyond the third round on the Euro Tour this year. Danny Noppert has not got beyond the third round on the Euro Tour since late May 2024, eleven events ago.
Noppert has won seven of his last ten matches but not altogether impressively. He only managed an 89 average in his 6-5 win over Nijman yesterday.
Their H2H record is 8-4 to Noppert, so he can handle Gilding’s idiosyncrasies. Noppert has won their last five matches including a 6-5 win in ET7 last year, which was the last time Noppert won a third round match on the Euro Tour! It’s a sign from God.
2025 European Darts GP Sunday Tip: 1 point Danny Noppert to win @ 1.73 win SpreadEx, Hills
Luke Woodhouse vs. Ross Smith
Smudger didn’t have to get out of first gear to beat Chisnall 6-3 yesterday. It was a poor match, but an easy win. Smith is a Euro Tour specialist these days and will be looking to reach his fourth quarter final of the year on the Euro Tour. He has won eight of his last ten matches but he hasn’t been in devastating form scoring wise.
Woodhouse raised his game to beat Chris Dobey 6-4. He was massively helped by Dobey being rubbish on the doubles. He has won six of his last ten matches but he hasn’t been shooting the lights out either, hitting six sub 91 averages.
If Smith can find his scoring boots, the ones he had in round 1, this could be brief. Their H2H record is 5-4 to Smith and on the Euro Tour 2-0 to Smith, both played last year. Those two matches produced sixteen 180s from eighteen legs, mostly from Smith, and that is key to his game. He only hit one yesterday and he will need to do better, and likely he will.
Smith is the 1.52 favourite, Woodhouse 2.87. There might be some value in Woodhouse’s odds but I will go for an overs on the 180s.
2025 European Darts GP Sunday Tip: 1 point over 5.5 180s @ 2.10 with SpreadEx
Luke Humphries vs. Michael Smith
Smith managed to damage the board at the end of his match with Daniel Klose. It was a lower scoring affair and Klose should have won it having been 5-2 up, but Smith battled back to nick it. He then threw a dart at the board from about three feet away and it knocked the numbers ring clean off the board. I assume he will get a fine for that as it was dangerous with the ref standing right next to the board.
It was also a sign that Smith is on the edge. Extremely wound up and frustrated. It was just an 88 average and needless to say he will need to play a lot better today id he is to avoid a drubbing.
Humphries beat Conor Scutt 6-1 and averaged 98.80, just another day at the office for him. Humphries will want to get a Euro Tour under his belt so that he can miss more events. He has won just five of his last ten matches but most have been at PL level. He has hit five ton plus averages and just two sub 98s.
Their H2H record is 12-9 to Humphries including a 6-5 win in ET2 this year. Humphries was scoring great in that match, hit seven maximums, but his doubling was right off at 25%. Missing doubles has been the theme this weekend so maybe it will happen again, otherwise Humphries could enjoy a much bigger margin of victory.
Humphries is the 1.34 favourite, Smith 3.60. It is not a betting match for me. No bet.
