2025 Baltic Sea Darts Saturday Evening Preview & Tips
James Punt’s 2025 Baltic Sea Darts Saturday Evening preview and tips are below. After a tough start we finished with a couple of winners this afternoon, hopefully there is more to come.
Afternoon Reflections
It was a bad day at the office today, losing 2.92 points and it will be hard to play catch up tonight as we have a lot of very uncompetitive matches to get through. Tomorrow is another day and it is also an early start, with the first session starting at 11.00am and the second at 5.00pm UK time. For some reason an hour earlier than normal. Just the one bottle of wine for me tonight then.
Gerwyn Price vs. William O’Connor
O’Connor’s late call up will net him £2500, unless he wins this match and moves forward, but I doubt that is going to happen. He only managed an average of 84.79 in his 6-5 win over Tytus Kanik. He has won five of his last ten matches but not shown anything that should trouble Price.
The Iceman has won eight of his last ten matches and is in very nearly his best form. The only difference between the prime Price and the 2025 Price is a few hundred thousand in the bank. He is comfortable and has lost a bit of his competitiveness. Would the 2018-2021 Price have lost a Players Championship to Bradly Brooks back in the day? I doubt it, but that is what happened on Wednesday. That said, his last four events have produced form figures of SF/W/SF/RU.
Their H2H record is 8-1 to Price and he has won their last eight. It is really just a question of the margin of victory. Price is the 1.30 favourite, O’Connor 3.75. Price has covered a -2.5 handicap in three of their last four best of eleven leg matches.
2025 Baltic Sea Darts Saturday Tip: 1 point Price to win -2.5 legs @ 2.05 with Ladbrokes
Rob Cross vs. Andy Baetens
Baetens overcame a disappointing RVB 6-4 last night. It was a poor game and Baetens was just a little better. His win rate is just 40% in 2025. He has won seven of his last ten matches, but only one with anything that should trouble Cross.
Rob Cross took time out before heading to New York for the US Darts Masters and he lost 0-6 to Danny Lauby. Since then, he has played eleven and won eight.
Cross is the 1.34 favourite, Baetens 3.50. Baetens is hard to fancy but the odds on Cross are not of much interest.
2025 Baltic Sea Darts Saturday Tip: No Bet
Stephen Bunting vs. Nico Springer
Springer kicked off with a 6-2 win over Kevin Troppmann in a low-quality match. Springer has won five of his last ten matches but hit four sub 90 averages and a sub-80. He is a better player than that, but just not right now.
Bunting is in top form and has been for quite some time, Premier League excepted. He has won eight of his last ten matches with a low average of 96.35 and hitting six ton plus averages.
Bunting is the 1.40 favourite, Springer 3.00. We are on Bunting outright and that is enough interest in this match for me.
2025 Baltic Sea Darts Saturday Tip: No Bet
Luke Humphries vs. Mickey Mansell
They are putting all the uncompetitive matches up in this session.
Humphries is the 1.17 favourite, Mansell 6.50. It is hard to make any case for Mansell other than in his last ten matches he has hit three 97+ averages. Something like that might give Humphries something to think about. There is also the fact that Mansell has beaten Humphries three times. Those were their first three matches but since 2022, Humphries is 5-0. No bet.
2025 Baltic Sea Darts Saturday Tip: No Bet
Josh Rock vs. Justin Hood
Another very short-priced favourite in the shape of Josh Rock who is the 1.18 fav with Justin Hood a 5.00 shot.
Hood beat Joe Cullen 6-3. He averaged 98.50 on his Euro Tour debut and he will be more relaxed here, with nothing to lose. Hood won his tour card in 2024 and needs to finish in the top 64 on the PDC OOM to keep it at the end of the year. He is currently 99th and he needs to win another £65K or so.
Hood has won five of his last ten matches and last night’s performance was his A-game. He will need it again to live with Rock and that is Hood’s problem, no consistency.
They have met twice before and Rock won both. There was a 10-5 win in the UK Open and a 6-2 win in April.
We are on Rock outright and I am happy to leave it at that. No bet.
2025 Baltic Sea Darts Saturday Tip: No Bet
Martin Schindler vs. Jermaine Wattimena
Wattimena was very good in his 6-1 win over Callan Rydz yesterday. It was a 103 average and he has won seven of his last ten matches.
Schindler has home crowd advantage, which will help. He has lost six of his last ten matches so he may need the help. Schindler has won six of his seven ET second round matches (he got a bye in one and lost his last one in ET8). He is something of a Euro Tour specialist and always hard to beat on these stages.
Their H2H record is 7-3 to Schindler but they have not played since 2023. Both players have improved since then, maybe Wattimena the most. Wattimena was 51st at the end of 2023 and he is currently 30th. The Dutchman has only won two second round matches on this year’s Euro Tour.
Wattimena is the 1.91 favourite, Schindler 2.00. You can make a case for either player and I can’t see any great value here.
2025 Baltic Sea Darts Saturday Tip: No Bet
Nathan Aspinall vs. Ricardo Pietreczko
Pikachu has won seven of his last ten matches, but he hasn’t been that impressive. Four sub 90 averages and a high of 94.93 is not going to frighten Aspinall. The crowd will do its best to put Aspinall off, and sometimes he does rise to the bait.
Aspinall is having a good season, especially on the Euro Tour. He is top of the order of merit after winning two titles and being runner up in another. His recent form sees seven wins from his last ten matches and he has taken some big scalps recently. He beat Luke Littler twice, Damon Heta twice, Chris Dobey, Wessel Nijman, MVG and Bunting to name a few.
Their H2H record is 3-1 to Aspinall and he has won their two matches in 2025 6-3, including in ET8 last month, which he went on to win.
Aspinall is the 1.44 favourite, Pietreczko 3.00.
2025 Baltic Sea Darts Saturday Tip: 0.5 point Aspinall to win 6-3 @ 5.50 generally available
2025 Baltic Sea Darts Saturday Tip: 1 point Aspinall to win -1.5 legs @ 1.75 with Ladbrokes
Chris Dobey vs. Dirk van Duijvenbode
Saving the best for last? Hopefully.
Dobey has won six of his last ten matches and hit four ton plus averages, but he has a few low 90s as well. He has hit thirty-seven 180s in those ten at a rate of 0.45 per leg.
Dirk got off to a good start here, beating Ryan Meikle 6-2 and averaging 105. He has only won five of his last ten matches, but he is scoring well. One of his defeats was a 7-8 loss to Dobey in the final of PC17 last month.
Their overall H2H record is 8-6 to Dobey and in 2025 it is 2-1 to Dirk. On the Euro Tour it is 2-0 to Dirk.
We have to think about 180s when these two are paired. Dobey is ranked 6th for 180s per leg, Dirk 2nd. In their last match they hit fifteen in fifteen legs and in the match before that, nine in ten legs.
They have also had a match with no maximums last year and in the one Euro Tour match in 2025 there were just four from eleven legs. However, they have both been banging them in for fun recently. In their last ten matches, they have a combined rate of 0.86 per leg. Dirk opened his account with five last night’s 6-2 win. Their three matches in 2025 have produced twenty eight maximums from thirty six legs.
I would expect something around 0.70 to 0.80 per leg tonight and seven or more 180s is not an unreasonable expectation.
