2025 Flanders Darts Trophy Saturday Preview

It was a reasonable day’s work yesterday. Six bets from nine won for a 3.28 point profit. Today is the day where the big guns arrive, except for Gerwyn Price, who withdrew after the tournament had started. That means Ryan Joyce gets a bye into the third round tomorrow and that there are only seven matches in this afternoon’s session. James’ 2025 Flanders Darts Trophy Saturday tips are below.

Rob Cross vs. Mensur Suljovic

Suljovic beat Andrew Gilding in a tight, low scoring match last night. He has won just four of his last ten matches and is not playing with much consistency. He only averaged 88.8 yesterday, so maybe we will see the better version today. The Gentle has only played one second round match on the Euro Tour in 2025 and lost that to Ritchie Edhouse.

Rob Cross continues to play a high standard of darts without getting a big return. He has not had much success in the Majors in 2025, was 7th in the Premier League, has won one Players Championship, won one World Series event, but failed to get beyond the third round on the 2025 Euro Tour.

Voltage has won three of his five second round ET matches and he is the 1.37 favourite to win this one. Cross has won seven of his last ten games. He played eight matches in the Players Championships earlier this week and hit four ton plus averages and just one sub-95, so he is playing well, and consistently.

H2H

Their H2H record is 11-8 to Cross but they have not played since 2013. Suljovic has slipped down the rankings in recent years while Cross has stayed at the elite level, even if he isn’t quite able to win the big ones.

They have not had any particularly close matches since 2019, which was about when Suljovic started to drop away. It is not all Rob Croos since then and Suljovic has had a 6-0 win over Cross in 2020 and a 6-1 Players Championship win in 2023.

I expect Cross to win and it is a toss-up between a bet on unders, or Cross covering a handicap. Cross is 1.53 with a -1.5 leg handicap. Under 9.5 legs is 1.67 and that makes more sense, just in case Cross has an off day.

2025 Flanders Darts Trophy Saturday tip: 1 point Under 9.5 legs @ 1.67 with Hills

Peter Wright vs. Luke Woodhouse

The market is finding it hard to split these two, with Wright the 1.91 favourite and Woodhouse 1.95.

Wright is in poor form, losing six of his last ten matches. His scoring has picked up somewhat but in his last ten he has had only two 94+averages and he is usually in the low 90s, so he at least is getting rid of the really bad stuff.

Luke Woodhouse is having another good season. He improved last year and is now 31st on the OOM, but it is very competitive at that level so he needs to pick up matches like this. He is in good form, winning seven of his last ten matches and he averaged 103 in a 6-1 first round win over Engstrom. Woodhouse is not a rock solid, heavy scorer, not that consistent, but on the whole, is playing better than Wright.

H2H

Their H2H record is 4-1 to Wright and he won their only match this year, a 6-3 win in ET5. Woodhouse did beat Wright on the Euro Tour last year but overall in Europe, Wright is 3-1 up. Woodhouse has lost five Euro Tour second round matches in 2025 and won just two. Wright has won four from eight.

I can see why the market is finding them hard to split, but I would make Woodhouse favourite, but not by much. A close match? Only one of their five has been over 9.5 legs. I can’t see any value here. No bet.

2025 Flanders Darts Trophy Saturday tip: no bet

Dave Chisnall vs. Leon Weber

Weber beat Jermaine Wattimena 6-5 yesterday, despite averaging 10 points less. Wattimena missed four darts to go 5-2 up and would have been throwing to win 6-2 and win our bet but he missed, and Weber clawed his way back into the match and Wattimena folded. It was a match Wattimena should have won, easily. Webber has won just four of his last ten matches and only averaged over 90 in one of those last ten.

Dave Chisnall is still on the oppose list, but he should be able to win this one. He has lost five of his last ten matches. Half of those saw sub 92 averages and his A-game is not getting much of a run out.

Chizzy has played nine second round matches in 2025 and won five. The problem is that he has lost his last four, but they were all to topflight players. Weber is not one of them.

2025 Flanders Darts Trophy Saturday tip: 1 point Dave Chisnall to win -2.5 legs @ 2.00 with Betfair, BET365

Josh Rock vs. Karel Sedlacek

Evil Charlie won a great game of darts against Wessel Nijman last night, checking out 81 on the bull to win 6-5. He averaged 99, Nijman 100. He now faces another very good young player in the more portly figure of Josh Rock.

Sedlacek has won seven of his last ten matches and hit six 95+ averages. He has played 20 career Euro Tour events and won five second round matches, including one this year. That was a 6-3 win over Danny Noppert in ET3 and he went on to reach the quarter final. He will not be fazed by playing Rock.

They have met four times and Rock has won three, but Sedlacek won their last match, a 6-5 win in April. Of their four matches, three have been over 9.5 legs and I expect this to be close as well.

2025 Flanders Darts Trophy Saturday tip: 1 point over 9.5 legs @ 2.37 with Ladbrokes

Damon Heta vs. Christian Kist

Heta is the 1.29 favourite despite losing seven of his last ten matches. OK, he has lost many of those to top players like Littler and Humphries, but he lost both his Players Championship matches earlier this week to Ricky Evans and Nick Kenny. My guess is that he made the most of the trip down under for the World Series and stayed for another week. He was likely a bit jet lagged on Monday and Tuesday.

These two have played twice and it is 1-1. Both were back in 2023. Kist beat Cameron Menzies 6-5 yesterday and it was a high-quality match. When Kist is fit, he can be very good. Good enough to give Heta a hard time.

2025 Flanders Darts Trophy Saturday tip: 1 point Christian Kist to win +1.5 legs @ 2.70 with Betfred

Chris Dobey vs. Krzysztof Ratajski

Dobey has won six of his last ten matches and is not playing with any great consistency. He skipped the Players Championships earlier this weekend.

Ratajski got a late call up and took advantage of that by beating Steve Lennon, who was the player who beat him in the qualifier for this event. Bummer for Scuba Steve. It was an OK performance, but nothing more.

Ratajski has won eight of his last ten matches, so he will be feeling positive, and he is playing pretty well and consistently. His record against Dobey is 1-6 and Dobey has won their last three.

Their last two Euro Tour matches have ended 6-4 to Dobey and I would expect another close one. Ratajski could nick it if Dobey is a bit rusty.

2025 Flanders Darts Trophy Saturday tip: 1 point over 9.5 legs @ 2.00 with Betfair, Ladbrokes

Danny Noppert vs. Dirk van Duijvenbode

An all-Dutch clash that has close one written all over it. They have met seventeen times and Noppert has won eleven. On the Euro Tour it is 2-1 to Noppert. Dirk won their only match in 2025, 6-4 in the Players Championships in June.

They have played twelve best of eleven leg matches and nine have needed over 9.5 legs, including the last five in a row.

2025 Flanders Darts Trophy Saturday tip: 1 point over 9.5 legs @ 2.10 with Betfair
