2025 Swiss Darts Trophy Friday Preview

James Punt’s 2025 Swiss Darts Trophy Friday betting preview is below. He landed two winners this afternoon, hopefully there’s more to come.

Chris Landman vs. Denis Schnetzer

Landman is another off the reserve list and he has drawn a local qualifier, Denis Schnetzer. The Swiss player averaged 71.73 across his four qualifiers.

Landman has a win rate of just 38% in 2025 and has lost six of his last ten matches. On the Euro Tour in 2025 he has played in one event, beating Andrew Gilding 6-5 in the first round before losing 1-6 to Ross Smith. He lost his only other Euro Tour match 5-6 to Mike de Decker last year.

Landman isn’t any great shakes but he should win this. However, the Swiss qualifiers did win two matches last year and Landman makes no appeal at 1.14. No bet.

2025 Swiss Darts Trophy Friday Tip: No Bet

Wessel Nijman vs. Ritchie Edhouse

Nijman has won six of his last ten matches but lost his last three. He has won ten of his twelve first round matches but was very poor when going down 2-6 to Darren Beveridge last weekend. He is not the finished article and his weakness is that he has too many poor performances, but his A game is top class.

Edhouse is very unlikely to qualify for the Grand Prix, but he was in last place for the European Championship qualifying list. Ratajski’s win earlier has moved him into the qualification slots, so Edhouse now needs to add some more ranking money to the pot to make sure he gets there. Edhouse has lost six of his last ten matches and this will be a hard match for him.

Their H2H record is 1-0 to Edhouse, a Players Championship match back in April. That was good quality match, there is no guarantee this will be.

Nijman is the 1.44 favourite, Edhouse 3.00. The odds look about right to me. No bet.

2025 Swiss Darts Trophy Friday Tip: No Bet

Raymond van Barneveld vs. Ansh Sood

Barney can’t complain about this draw. He faces one of the local qualifiers who averaged 74.39 in his four matches. He plays a bit of Development Tour darts and this is his Euro Tour debut.

Barney has been playing some good stuff occasionally, hitting a couple of ton plus averages in his last four. Barney has won seven of his twelve first round matches on the Euro Tour in 2025.

He is just inside the qualifiers for the European Championship, and just outside for the Grand Prix. Ratajski’s win this afternoon has pushed him down to 31st place in the European Championship qualifiers’ list. It is a must win and it is a should win.

RVB is the 1.06 favourite and this is not really a betting match.

2025 Swiss Darts Trophy Friday Tip: No Bet

Richard Veenstra vs. Niko Springer

Veenstra took advantage of a late call up last weekend, beating Cam Crabtree in the first round, but that was as far as it went. He has won seven of his last ten matches, but you cannot be sure what kind of performance he will put in. Veenstra has only won two of his eight Euro Tour matches in 2025.

Niko Springer was last weekend’s winner, his first Euro Tour title. He is the rising star of German darts. He was runner up in the Austrian Darts Open and followed that up with a 6-1 win over Van Duijvenbode in the following weekends first round. Springer has lost just one of his last ten matches and will be feeling very good.

Their H2H record is 1-1. Veenstra won a match in 2021, Springer got a 6-4 win a couple of months ago.

Springer is the 1.45 favourite, Veenstra 2.88. I will go for the German on the handicap.

2025 Swiss Darts Trophy Friday Tip: 1 point Niko Springer to win -1.5 legs @ 1.73 with Betfred, Ladbrokes, Hills

Jermaine Wattimena vs. Stefan Bellmont

The best Swiss player, Stefan Bellmont, is a veteran of eight Euro Tours and while it took him seven first round matches until he got a win, he has now won back to back first round matches, albeit they were in 2023.

Bellmont plays a lot of darts, on the Challenge Tour, the Pro Tour and the Swiss pro tour. He has taken some big scalps this season, including Price, Rock and Aspinall, but his recent form stinks. He has lost sixteen of his last twenty matches, and nine of his last ten at senior level.

Wattimena won PC 23 two months ago and since then he has played fifteen matches and lost eight. He has just been too inconsistent and it is hard to say which version of Wattimena will turn up.

Wattimena is the 1.28 favourite, Bellmont 4.50. They have met once, in the World Championship no less, and Wattimena won that 3-0.

I was prepared to back Bellmont, but not while he is in such poor form. No bet.

2025 Swiss Darts Trophy Friday Tip: No Bet

Dirk van Duijvenbode vs. Jitse van der Wal

An all-Dutch affair and perhaps with the chance of a surprise winner? Jitse van der Wal only has a seasonal win rate of 38%. He has won six of his last ten matches, but he is all over the place consistency wise.

Dirk van Duijvenbode still seems to be fuming since losing the final of PC17 in June. He has lost sixteen of his last thirty matches and on the Euro Tour, he has won nine of his twelve first round matches, but he did lose to Tom Bissel in last weekend’s first round.

This will be their fifth math, with Dirk winning three of their first four. Their last two both required a deciding leg and this could be a grind unless Dirk finds his scoring boots.

Dirk is the 1.30 favourite, Jitse van der Wal 4.50.

2025 Swiss Darts Trophy Friday Tip: 1 point over 9.5 legs @ 2.50 with BET365

Nathan Aspinall vs. Andreas Toft Jørgensen

The Asp has been getting some really easy first round matches on the Euro Tour and this is another. Andreas Toft Jørgensen is the Nordic Baltic qualifier and is averaging 80.66 in 2025. He is making his Euro Tour debut.

Aspinall has won his last two first round matches 6-0 and he is playing well without getting as many wins as his play may deserve.

Aspinall is the 1.07 favourite but this is more about the margin of victory.

2025 Swiss Darts Trophy Friday Tip: 1 point Aspinall to win -3.5 legs @ 1.70 with Ladbrokes

Daryl Gurney vs. William O’Connor

A huge match for O’Connor. After Ratajski’s win this afternoon, O’Connor now needs to reach the quarter final if he is to qualify for the World Grand Prix. To make the European Championship he needs to win around £7k between this and ET14.

Gurney really only needs to win this to make sure of his place at the Grand Prix and he is safely in the European Championship.

O’Connor has won nine of his last ten matches, Gurney five. O’Connor has only won two of his seven first round matches on the Euro Tour this year, the last two.

Their H2H record is 10-2 to Gurney, but O’Connor did win their last match 6-3 just four weeks ago.

Gurney is the 1.91 favourite, O’Connor 2.00. O’Connor is the player under pressure and it is how he copes with that pressure that will decide the match. Superchin is beatable but is the more relaxed. O’Connor is in better form, but Gurney can kick off at any time. This is too tricky for me. No bet.
