2025 Swiss Darts Trophy Sunday Preview

James Punt’s 2025 Swiss Darts Trophy Sunday betting preview is below. It was a tough evening yesterday but hopefully we can finish with a flourish.

Luke Humphries vs. Ryan Searle

Humphries got an easy ride last night. Callan Rydz just didn’t turn up. It was a 100 average from Luke and he is going to be hard to beat.

Ryan Searle had a much harder task when beating Zonneveld 6-3. Both players averaged over a ton but Searle was more clinical.

Their H2H record makes for depressing reading for Searle fans. It is 13-8 for Humphries but their last three matches have seen scorelines of 6-2, 10-0 and 6-0. Humphries has won seven of their last eight matches and he is the 1.37 favourite.

Searle has the capability to beat anyone but clearly, he struggles against Humphries. The World number 1 is in good form and he should win this one. Sadly, there is no value in his odds, nor in the side markets. No bet.

2025 Swiss Darts Trophy Sunday Tip: No Bet

Jermaine Wattimena vs. Luke Woodhouse

Both players put in excellent displays yesterday. Wattimena averaged 107 in a 6-1 win over Josh Rock. Yes, Rock didn’t turn up but even if he did, he would have likely lost. Maybe it is a thing he has with playing Rock. Their last match saw him averaging 107 as well and those two performances were his best for months.

Woodhouse set a new tournament record with his 110 average when beating Chisnall 6-2. Chizzy actually played well but Woodhouse had his best ever performance. It will be hard for either player to replicate their performances from yesterday.

Their H2H record is 5-2 to Woodhouse. Their last match was in 2023 and both players are better now that in 2023. In their seven matches, Wattimena averaged less than 90 in five of them.

The market has Wattimena as the 1.73 favourite and Woodhouse 2.30. I am not sure why. They look very evenly matched to me and it is Woodhouse who has prevailed more often than not.

2025 Swiss Darts Trophy Sunday Tip: 1 point Luke Woodhouse to win @ 2.30 with SpreadEx

Jonny Clayton vs. Martin Schindler

Schindler got his title defence off to a good start with a 6-2 win over Pietreczko, who it must be said, was very poor. Clayton beat Aspinall 6-4 and averaged 105.33. It was a very good performance against an in-form opponent who played well.

These two met just four weeks ago in the semi-final of PC25 and Clayton won that 8-7. Overall, it is 8-6 to Clayton, but on the Euro Tour it is 4-0 to Schindler. The German does get a lot of home advantage, but he is something of a Euro Tour specialist. We are in Switzerland, but there is a big German contingent in the crowd, and he is the defending champion.

Clayton is the 1.67 favourite and again, I am not sure why. It looks like a coin toss to me and even a good case to make Schindler a marginal favourite.

2025 Swiss Darts Trophy Sunday Tip: 1 point Martin Schindler to win @ 2.50 with BET365

Chris Dobey vs. Cor Dekker

Dobey is in line for back to back Euro Tour quarter finals. He averaged 101.43 in a 6-4 win over Suljovic. It was a good match and a good performance.

Cor Dekker beat a very poor Peter Wright and Dekker only averaged 80.88. He was very nervous and had great difficulty in getting over the line to a player averaging 78. Maybe he will be more relaxed today, expecting to get stuffed, and he very probably will.

Dobey is the 1.25 favourite and while that is a short price, it is realistic.

These two have met twice this year and both won once. Dobey was the better player in both, but somehow managed to lose 4-6 in a match where he had an eleven point higher average. Dobey really should win this and do so with a wide margin of victory.

2025 Swiss Darts Trophy Sunday Tip: 2 points Chris Dobey to win -2.5 legs @ 1.85 with Boylesports

Stephen Bunting vs. Krzysztof Ratajski

Ratajski has played his way into the Grand Prix, and provisionally into the European Championship. He will be feeling good. He hasn’t played anything special this weekend but has got the job done. He has won six of his last ten matches and is playing solid stuff, but nothing special.

Bunting has also won six of his last ten matches and last night’s 6-3 win over Landman saw a 99.18 average and ended a three match losing streak. He is 4-1 in his third round matches in 2025 on the Euro Tour.

Their H2H record is 4-4 and 1-1 on the Euro Tour.

Bunting is the 1.45 favourite, Ratajski 3.00. I would give a relaxed Ratajski a better chance and I expect that he will give Bunting a match at the very least.

2025 Swiss Darts Trophy Sunday Tip: 1 point over 9.5 legs @ 2.10 with Hills, Betfair

Raymond van Barneveld vs. Ritchie Edhouse

Edhouse really has to take advantage of his good fortune. Getting a bye into the third round leaves him £500 quid behind Ratajski in the battle for last place on the European Championship qualifying list. Neither has qualified for the final event in three week’s time, so this is it, the last chance salon.

Barney has moved into 29th place in the European Championship race, but ne needs a win here to qualify for the Grand Prix. There is a lot riding on this match for both players.

Their H2H record is 4-0 to Barney. They last met in March this year and that was a 6-5 win for the Dutchman. They met on the Euro Tour last year and that was 6-3 to Barney.

Van Barneveld is the 1.91 favourite, Edhouse 2.10. Barney has played in three third round matches on the 2025 Euro Tour and lost all three. He doesn’t have much in the way of stamina these days. He lost two of them 5-6 and this has the look of a close match.

2025 Swiss Darts Trophy Sunday Tip: 1 point over 9.5 legs @ 2.20 with Boylesports

Ryan Joyce vs. Gian Van Veen

The Dutchman has the heavy burden of my cash on his back. He played great to beat Van Duijvenbode 6-0 yesterday, and maybe this is his weekend. He had never beaten Dirk before and he will have been very pleased to get that win.

Joyce averaged 89.28 in a 6-5 win over a subdued James Wade. He isn’t scoring well enough to live with Van Veen. The Dutchman is the 1.33 favourite and hopefully he justifies the odds.

2025 Swiss Darts Trophy Sunday Tip: No Bet

Rob Cross vs. Danny Noppert

Noppert continued his good run of form by averaging 104 in his 6-5 win over William O’Connor least night. Cross beat Veenstra 6-2 with a decent display. Noppert usually does his losing in matches with ‘final’ in the title.

Their H2H record is 6-4 to Cross, but I fancy Noppert to get the better of Cross, who has lost all six of his third-round matches in 2025.

2025 Swiss Darts Trophy Sunday Tip: 1 point Noppert to win @ 2.00 generally available.
