2026 Winmau World Masters Saturday Preview
James Punt fired in three winners on Friday, including correct score touches at 3.75 and 3.60. His 2026 Winmau World Masters Saturday preview is below.
2026 Winmau World Masters Saturday
Last night was better. It was a +1.68 point profit to take us back into the black by a tiny 0.43 points. Today we have the eight second round matches, split across two sessions, and the format is best of seven sets.
Afternoon Session
Damon Heta vs. Chris Dobey
A bit of a Dodgepot Derby to open proceedings. Two players who have not been in great form doesn’t make for a tasty betting opportunity.
Their H2H record is strange. Heta leads 7-2 but after winning seven in a row, Heta has lost his last two against Dobey. Both were in 2025 and both easy wins for Dobey.
Dobey is the 1.50 favourite, Heta 2.80. Fair enough if you saw Heta’s reaction to beating MVG 3-1. He was shaking his head as he knew he had played poorly, MVG was even worse. It is not often you seen MVG getting easily beaten by somebody averaging 86.46.
Dobey beat Wattimena 3-0. He played well, averaging 99.36, but Wattimena was very poor.
If you want to back Dobey at 1.50, you may need medical advice, but backing Heta would just confirm your insanity. No bet.
2026 Winmau World Masters Saturday Tip: No Bet
Gary Anderson vs. James Wade
Wade is in a bit of a huff as he didn’t get picked for the Premier League. Really? He really isn’t box office material and his social media profile is not what is required to get you a pick these days.
Wade played well to beat Madars Razma 3-2. He averaged 102.56 and usually that would get a bigger margin of victory than 3-2, but that is set play for you. It was Wade’s highest average since mid-October so it is probably expecting too much to think he will repeat that level of performance today.
Gary Anderson beat Niels Zonneveld, also 3-2 and also with a ton plus average, with a 101.21. That is the sort of form he was showing at the end of 2025, so he looks the more likely to carry on at that level.
Their H2H record is 40-20 to Anderson and he has won their last seven in a row. It was 3-0 in 2025 with wins of 6-1, 6-4 and 7-1.
Anderson is the 1.56 favourite, Wade 2.80.
2026 Winmau World Masters Saturday Tip: 1 point Gary Anderson to win -1.5 sets @ 2.00 with Hills
Gian van Veen vs. Nathan Aspinall
Van Veen had a comfortable 3-1 win over Ryan Joyce in round one, while Aspinall was in top form in his 3-1 win over Shane McGuirk. The Asp averaged 105.80 in that one.
Aspinall is in decent form, winning seven of his last ten matches, but one of his defeats was to Van Veen in the Bahrain Masters semi-final. Van Veen is the better player, he has won seven of his last ten matches and two of his defeats were to Littler.
Their H2H record is 3-2 to Aspinall. He is the 2.75 outsider, with Van Veen 1.53. We have backed Van Veen to reach the final and that is enough interest in this match for me. It is a tricky one for Van Veen and his odds are a bit cramped at just 1.53. No bet.
2026 Winmau World Masters Saturday Tip: No Bet
Jonny Clayton vs. Gerwyn Price
The Ferret produced a great display in his 3-1 win over Wessel Nijman, his highest average since early October 2025. I suspected he would be well prepared with the Premier League starting next week, and he was.
Gerwyn Price was even better in his 3-0 win over James Hurrell, averaging 108.51, his best average since early September.
Their H2H record is 26-11 to Price, he has won their last eight in a row and thirteen of their last fourteen.
Price is the 1.65 favourite, Clayton 2.50. Generous odds for Price when looking at their H2H record. However, Clayton is looking like he means business this weekend. Price has handed Clayton some heavy defats in the last few years and while I suspect Clayton will be right up for this one, Price just loves beating his little pal.
2026 Winmau World Masters Saturday Tip: 1 point Gerwyn Price to win @ 1.65 with Livescorebet
Evening Session
Rob Cross vs. Josh Rock
It was a small victory for the Taxman when Cross beat Ryan Searle 3-1 last night. He didn’t play that well, averaging just 91.13, but Searle was missing too many doubles and his poor record in Milton Keynes continues. Cross has won five of his last ten matches and hasn’t been playing well for some time.
Josh Rock was OK in his 3-1 win over Connor Scutt last night. It was a regulation 95.57 average but both players were poor on the doubles, Rock missing seventeen, and it is the weak spot in his game. He will need to take his chances more efficiently if he is to make much progress this weekend.
Rock has won seven of his last ten matches and is a better player than Cross these days, but he is not quite as good as he is made out to be.
Their H2H record is 5-4 to Cross and he averaged 109 in their last match, a 6-5 win for Cross back in July 2025.
Rock is the 1.47 favourite, Cross 2.90. That is a fair reflection of their form over the last few months. If Rock can hit more of his doubles, he should win this with a decent margin of victory.
2026 Winmau World Masters Saturday Tip: 1 point Rock to win -1.5 sets @ 1.88 with Livescorebet
Stephen Bunting vs. Danny Noppert
Both players played well last night. Noppert averaged 99.30 in his 3-1 win over Daryl Gurney. The Northern Irishman missed a lot of doubles and Noppert was a little flattered by the result, but he did his bit well enough.
Stepehen Bunting beat Jeffrey de Graaf 3-1 but the Dutch born Swede was poor, averaging just 89.61and it was easy for Bunting in the end.
Noppert has played the better darts over the last few months and hit six ton plus averages in his last ten matches. He just missed out on another last night.
Their H2H record is 8-6 to Noppert and he was 3-1 in 2025.
Noppert is the 1.92 favourite, Bunting 2.10. This has the look of a close one and I’ll take Noppert to edge it.
2026 Winmau World Masters Saturday Tip: 0.5 point Danny Noppert to win 4-3 @ 6.00 with Betfair, Skybet
Luke Littler vs. Ross Smith
Littler survived a match dart against him in his 3-2 win over Mike de Decker. The Belgian went two sets to nil up and missed a double to win the match, but the game then turned on its head and Littler found his form and turned it around. Like anyone else, he is vulnerable in short formats, so this longer one should help him, if he needs it.
Ross Smith beat tour newbie Jimmy van Schie 3-1. That means that none of the players who came through the qualifiers made it into round two. Smudger played OK, averaging 94.13, but it was a bit of a struggle and the scoreline flattered him a bit. The Dutchman missed two darts to take it to a deciding set.
Smith just has to go into this with zero expectations, try and nail the treble 20 and hope for the best. Their H2H record is 5-1 to Littler, so at least Smith knows he can beat Littler, but there has been little in his form of the last few months to think that he can do it again.
Their last four matches have all been on TV and produced forty six 180s in fifty eight legs. Both are big maximum hitters and if Smith can extend the match by winning a few legs and maybe a set, I can see plenty of 180s in this game.
2026 Winmau World Masters Saturday Tip: 1 point over 10.5 180s @ 2.05 with Livescorebet
Luke Humphries vs. Luke Woodhouse
The other two Lukes are going H2H for the thirteenth time, with Humphries winning nine of their previous twelve, and the last six in a row, going back to 2023. Woodhouse last beat Humphries in 2021.
They have only met once on TV, in the 2023 Grand Prix, which Humphries won 3-0. Woodhouse is a better player now and their last two matches required a deciding leg.
Humphries is the 1.25 favourite, Woodhouse 4.50. Humphries looks a bit short, especially considering Woodhouse averaged 108.64 in his 3-0 win over Martin Schindler last night.
Humphries had 104.13 average but still dropped a set to Chisnall. I doubt Woodhouse will be able to repeat his feat of last night, but he may give Humphries something to think about.
