2026 Winmau World Masters Sunday Preview
James Punt fired in four winners from six bets on Saturday. His 2026 Winmau World Masters Sunday preview is below.
2026 Winmau World Masters Sunday
It was a reasonable day at the office yesterday with 1.88 points profit and we are up a modest 2.31 points. We are now into the quarter final stage and our two ante-post selections, Littler and Van Veen, are still standing.
Chris Dobey vs. Gerwyn Price
Price beat his mate Jonny Clayton 4-3 yesterday to improve on an already impressive H2H record with the Ferret. This afternoon, he faces another player who he loves playing, Chris Dobey. Their H2H record is 22-5 to Price. They played eleven times in 2025, most of them Premier League matches, and Price was 7-4 and in ranking Majors, Price is 3-1.
Dobey very nearly ‘did a Dobey’ yesterday, going 3-1 up but losing the next two sets to Heta, before winning the deciding set. Price, on the other hand, came back from being 0-2 down against Clayton to win 4-3.
Gerwyn Price is the 1.67 favourite and he gets the nod to beat Dobey once again.
2026 Winmau World Masters Sunday Tip: 1 point Gerwyn Price to win @ 1.67 with Boylesports, Betfred
Luke Littler vs. Josh Rock
Littler beat Ross Smith 4-1, despite Smith averaging 102.14. That was dwarfed by Littler’s 108.88. He was just at a different level. Littler has won twenty-seven of his last twenty-eight matches and it is getting a bit boring to be honest.
Josh Rock started his match with Rob Cross a bit slowly and was missing doubles, which had the alarm bells ringing, but he found his A game in set three and won 4-1, averaging 101.66 with checkout rate of 44%, but he still missed ten.
If he is to give Littler a match he will need to be close to perfect when he gets a chance. Rock has won seven of his last ten matches and is playing well on the whole, but rarely at the same sort of level as Littler.
They last met in the quarter final of the Grand Slam, which Littler won16-12. Their overall H2H record extends to just three matches, and yes, Littler has won all three. They have all be significant matches.
The first was in this year’s World Matchplay semi-final which Littler won 17-14. The next was an 8-7 win in the final of the Flanders Darts Trophy on the Euro tour, and most recently it was that 16-12 win in the Grand Slam.
Rock has played well against Littler, averaged 101.87 across the three matches, and lost all three. At least he has done his best.
Those three matches saw no less than sixty-seven 180s at a rate of 0.90 per leg, so hopefully we will be treated to some fireworks this afternoon.
Littler is the 1.33 favourite, Rock 4.00. We are on Littler outright for the tournament, but I will have a play on the 180 market.
2026 Winmau World Masters Sunday Tip: 1 point over 12.5 180s @ 2.30 with Boylesports
Gian van Veen vs. James Wade
Wade just got the better of Gary Anderson yesterday, winning 4-3, and getting a bit of help from Anderson it must be said. It was a solid 96.71 average from Wade and he came back from 0-2 down. A typical grinding win from Wade.
Van Veen averaged 95.36 in a 4-2 win over Aspinall, thanks to him being very good on the doubles (56%), and Aspinall being poor (19%). Van Veen is the best double hitter in the business, a title once owned by Wade.
Their H2H record is 9-3 to Wade and he has won their last three in a row. They played no less than four quarter finals in 2025 and Wade won three. That was before Van Veen won his first Major and reached the final of the World Championship, but clearly, he struggles with Wade.
Van Veen is the 1.33 favourite, Wade 3.75. Given their H2H record, the value lies with Wade. He has been out played by Van Veen in many matches and still won. I am happy to take some cover and have a small bet on Wade, in case he kills our bet on Van Veen to make the final.
2026 Winmau World Masters Sunday Tip: 0.5 point James Wade to win @ 3.75 with Skybet
Luke Humphries vs. Danny Noppert
Luke Humphries hit a nine-dart leg in his 4-3 win over Luke Woodhouse. Both players averaged over a ton, with 105 for Humphries. He hit ten 180s but was pushed very hard by Woodhouse.
Danny Noppert smashed Stephen Bunting 4-0 and made his point about Bunting getting a PL pick rather than him quite well I thought.
Humphries is averaging 104.5 so far this weekend and he is in top form. Noppert is playing well, but he starts to get tight at the business end of tournaments, usually in semi-finals, but he is up against it here.
Their H2H record is 9-4 to Humphries. They have played in two quarter finals, Humphries winning both, and they have played in five semi-finals and Humphries won four, including the last four in a row and he had a 5-2 win over Noppert in this tournament last year.
Humphries is the 1.44 favourite, Noppert 3.20. I can’t back Noppert in a match with the word ‘final’ in the title.
2026 Winmau World Masters Sunday Tip: 1 point Luke Humphries to win -1.5 sets @ 1.80 generally available
That is all from me this weekend. The Premier League Preview will posted in the mid-week and the opening matches on Thursday.
