2026 PL Darts Night 6 Preview

Tonight we head to Nottingham for the latest instalment of Premier League Darts action. James Punt’s 2026 PL Darts Night 6 preview and tips are below.

Night 5 Reflections

Night 5 produced a whopping profit of +0.17 points, which means we are -1.05 down for the tournament to date. Ah, the joys of the Premier League.

This Thursday the darting circus travels to Nottingham for Night 6. Jonny Clayton, the only player to score points in all five nights so far, heads the table with 14 points. We have had five different Night winners so far, and Josh Rock remains pointless at the bottom of the table.

Josh Rock vs. Stephen Bunting

A bottom of the table clash to start the night. Bunting won Night 4 in Belfast to pick up five points, but lost in the quarter final last week, meaning that he has played 7 and won 3 matches. Bunting has the third highest average in the league.

Rock reached the semi-final of the UK Open at the weekend, which will have given his confidence a boost. The fact that he also beat Stephen Bunting along the way (10-7) will have done him no harm either.

Rock’s problem in the PL has been very poor doubling. His checkout rate is just 26%. At this level, that is going to get found out very quickly. He managed 47% in the UK Open and if he can take inspiration from those performances, he should be able to get some points on the league table.

Relieved Bullet

Stephen Bunting will have been relieved to get his nightly win in Belfast, but his 5-6 loss to Price in last week’s quarter final will remind him that one Night win, a PL campaign does not make.

Their H2H record is 5-2 to Bunting, but Rock got a win over Bunting on Saturday. That means Rock has won their last two matches.

Rock is the 1.80 favourite, with Bunting 2.10. I have to take Rock to back up his win of a few nights ago. Hopefully he hits the doubles early on, because if he doesn’t, he can forget about making the play-offs.

Jonny Clayton vs. Michael van Gerwen

Jonny Clayton’s love affair with the PL continues. Once again, he sits on top of the pile, by a five point margin. In three of the last four years, 24 points was enough to get you into the play-offs, so he is looking good to make the O2 in May.

Clayton reached the quarter final at last weekend’s UK Open, falling again to Gerwyn Price. He has won six of his last ten matches and while he doesn’t have the firepower of some of these players, he is a very good finisher. In the last 12 months he is ranked 5th for checkout rate at 43%, and in the PL it is 46%, the best in the league. He doesn’t get enough credit for his finishing.

MVG Scoring Well

MVG has lost five of his last ten matches but he is scoring well enough. He just lacks that confidence in himself, and his opponents no longer fear him. He is sitting in 5th place in the table and since having to pull out off Night 3, he has lost his last two quarter finals.

Their H2H record is 24-19 to MVG. In the PL under the current format, it is 6-5 to Clayton with seven matches being under 9.5 legs and four over 9.5. This will be their first match in 2026.

Clayton is the 1.95 favourite, MVG 2.00. I have Clayton a little shorter, but there is no great value in this match. No bet.

2026 PL Darts Night 6 Tip: No Bet

Luke Humphries vs. Jonny Clayton

Their H2H record is interesting. Van Veen has become something of a bogeyman for Humphries. They have played twelve times and Van Veen has won seven. More to the point, he has won six of their last seven, including a 6-5 win in their first PL meeting of the season.

Van Veen has won six of his last ten matches and I would say he is not playing at his best. That said, his worst average in his last ten was a 92.65. The rest have all been 95+. He is just hitting quite a lot of mid 90 averages. He is not playing like he was when reaching the final of the World Championship, and he may just be getting a bit jaded.

Low On Confidence

Luke Humphries has also won six of his last ten matches and he is playing a bit better than Van Veen, but he has lost some confidence. Half his matches have seen checkout rates of less than 33%. Those are the matches he is losing.

There is not a lot between them stats wise, but their checkout rate does show a decent advantage to Van Veen. In the Pl it is 43 – 34 to Van Veen. In the last 12 months it is 46-41 to Van Veen.

Luke Humphries is the 1.73 favourite, with Van Veen 2.20. Given their H2H record, and Humphries outer ring weakness. I give the nod to Van Veen to win again.

Gerwyn Price vs. Luke Littler

The H2H record here is also worth paying attention to. Price used to give Littler problems, Price won seven of their first eleven matches and I thought Littler had found a nemesis. But no, Littler has won ten of their last eleven matches. There have been close matches and ones that Price should have won. That suggests that Price is now expecting to lose, and he is probably right.

Littler won the UK Open on Sunday and has won nine of his last ten matches. Price has won seven of his last ten matches and is playing very well, he just finds winning stage titles difficult these days, probably because Littler tends to win them.

Littler Odds On

Littler is the 1.44 favourite, Price 3.15. It is a big match for both players. Littler won the Night last week, but he only sits third in the table, behind Price on leg difference. They met in last week’s semi-final and Littler averaged 111.05 in a 6-3 win.

I expect Littler to win, but by what kind of margin? My gut feeling is a close match, but it was 6-3 just last week and Price averaged 97.34 in that and was 75% on his doubles. He needs Littler to play relatively poorly, but Littler has won his first PL night and backed that up by defending his UK Open title on Sunday. He will be feeling confident.
