2026 PL Darts Finals Night Preview & Tips – JP
2026 PL Darts Finals Night
James Punt is back in action for one more night of Premier League Darts action and it is fair to say, he’s glad it is nearly over! His 2026 PL Darts Finals Night previews and tips are below.
PL Reflections
Its nearly over, just three matches before the 2026 Premier League is finally laid to rest. Good riddance. Night 16 was a total wipeout, -3.50 points lost to make the league stage tally -17.30 points. All is not quite lost, however. As usual, the ante post selections are not looking too shabby, but could yet come up short.
We have already bagged Jonny Clayton to make the semi-finals for a 3.50 profit. We have 3 points on Littler to win @ 1.80 (now best priced 1.95) and 1 point on Littler to play Humpries in the final @ 4.00. Only the 0.5 point bet on MVG to finish last has already lost.
The Semi-Finals
Luke Littler vs. Gerwyn Price
Littler has made the final of the two PLs he has already played in. Price has only ever made one final appearance, losing to MVG in 2023.
Their H2H record is telling, 19-8 to Littler, but more to the point, Littler has won their last eight in a row and in the 2026 PL, is 6-0 up. Littler has won fifteen of their last sixteen matches, and Price’s only win was in the very meaningless Bahrain Darts Masters in January.
These two met at this stage last year and Littler won 10-7 (the most common SF scoreline in the last nine years is 10-7, which has happened six times from the eighteen matches).
Price has lost five of his last ten matches and is hard to understand. He is a bit down on darts, suffering with a health problem and lacking in consistency, but not totally in the mire.
Iceman Issues
Price was due to play the UK Open Pool Championship earlier this week but pulled out of his first match at very late notice. He also pulled out of last week’s International Darts Open at very late notice, and after the draw had been made. Is this down to his mystery health issues? Or just to allow himself more time to practice for the playoffs?
Price played Littler twice last month, losing 3-6 and 1-6. It is hard to see anything but a win for Littler. It is also hard to see Price even getting the seven legs he managed against Littler last year.
Littler is the 1.40 favourite and Price 3.10, and it is the Welshman whose odds are coming in. I have no idea why, but it is a bit strange.

Jonny Clayton vs. Luke Humphries
Cool Hand has played in two PL semi-finals and won both. Last year he beat Nathan Aspinall 10-7, and in 2024 he beat MVG 10-5.
His recent form has picked up just in time for the playoffs. Having struggled with his doubles for much of the campaign, Humphries reached the finals of the last three league nights, winning one. He has won twelve of his last thirteen matches overall and hit fourteen ton plus averages in his last fifteen matches. That is absolute top form.
100% Record
Jonny Clayton kept up his 100% record of making the playoffs, making a mockery of his odds to do so again at the start of the tournament.
He comes to the play offs in mixed form. He has lost five of his last ten and while he has hit three ton plus averages, he also hit a couple of sub 90s. Clayton is in decent form but not his best, and well shy of what Humphries has been delivering lately.
Clayton has played in three PL SFs, beating MVG 10-8 in 2021, losing 4-10 to Joe Cullen in 2022 and 2-10 to Gerwyn Price in 2023.
Their H2H record is 10-7 to Jonny Clayton and 3-2 in 2026. In this year’s PL it is 3-1 to Clayton, but he hasn’t faced Humphries since he got his doubling sorted out, and Humphries has been a very different beast since then.
Humphries is the 1.40 favourite, Clayton 3.25.
I can’t see past Humphries given his recent form.
2026 PL Darts Finals Night Tip: 1 point Luke Humphries to win -2.5 legs @ 1.95 with Betfred
2026 PL Darts Finals Night Tip: 0.5 point Luke Humphries to win 10-5 @ 10.00 generally available
Outright Winner
We are heavily invested in in Littler to win at 1.80, but the form player coming into the playoffs looks to be Luke Humphries. He is still a player who can beat Littler in a straight fight, as he did in last year’s final. He has also beaten Littler twice in the last two weeks, 6-3 and 6-1.
They played eight times in this year’s PL and Littler won five. Five of their matches required a deciding leg. In last year’s final, Humphries won 11-8, and in 2024, Littler won 11-7.
Luke Littler is the 1.95 favourite to win the title, Humphries 3.40. Given his recent form, it would be stupid not to take some cover with Humphries at the odds.

Unfortunately, we can’t get a price on total legs for the final as it stands now, but I’d be looking for over 17.5 legs if the odds were right.
Both players are big 180 hitters and over the course of the PL they have hit the maximum at a combined rate of 0.71 per leg. Again, there are no odds available ante post, but there are a couple of firms betting to the total 180s for all three matches combined.
In the last nine years, the most was 40 in 2018, the lowest 21 in 2019. The last two years, which both featured Littler and Humphries is the best guide and they had 30 and 38.
Livescorebet are going 1.84 for over 33.5 180s on the night. It might come in, but value it is not.
