2026 Swiss Darts Trophy R2 Preview

James fired in another two winners last night, including a correct score touch at 5.25. Check out his 2026 Swiss Darts Trophy R2 preview and tips below.

R1 Reflections

The first day’s play yielded a +1.93 point profit from the match bets, but we lost a point on our outright selections. Our outsider selection, Niels Zonneveld lost 4-6 to Bradley Brooks. Normally hitting a ton plus average and six 180s would be enough to win a Euro Tour first round match, but sadly not.

Krzysztof Ratajski vs. Stefan Bellmont

Belly was the only home player to make it through the first round, beating Andrew Gilding 6-3 in a very poor match. That was only his third Euro Tour match won, and he has very probably peaked as far as this weekend goes. Having said that, Ratajski is in poor form, losing seven of his last ten matches, but all things are relative and he has still been averaging in the low to mid 90’s.

These two have met twice, Ratajski winning both, 6-1 earlier this year and 6-5 in 2024. He is the 1.40 favourite, Bellmont 3.25. The Swiss number 1 has played two second round matches on the Euro Tour, losing 5-6 and 2-6.

2026 Swiss Darts Trophy R2 Tip: 0.5 point Ratajski to win 6-3 @ 6.00 with Betfair, Skybet

Wessel Nijman vs. Karel Sedlacek

It was a very good performance from Sedláček in round one. He averaged 100.20, hit six 180s and was 67% on the doubles. That was enough to beat Bialecki 6-4 and it was a very good match. It means that Evil Charlie has now won nine of his last ten matches, and it keeps his hopes alive of making the European Championships. But he needs more.

Nijman has won six of his last ten matches and his scoring is usually at a higher level than Sedlacek’s. Nijman has only lost two second round matches in 2026.

Their H2H record is a surprising 5-3 to Sedlacek. He beat Nijman 6-0 in their last match which was in July. Sedlacek won their only Euro Tour match 6-5 last year, so he will not have any fear of playing the Dutch youngster.

Nijman is the 1.50 favourite, Sedlacek 2.80. I am going to get behind the highly motivated and in-form Czech. If he wins, I will have two bottles of Budvar to celebrate. If he doesn’t, I will have two bottles to commiserate.

2026 Swiss Darts Trophy R2 Tip: 1 point Karel Sedlacek to win @ 2.80 with Betfred

Luke Woodhouse vs. Rob Cross

Woodhouse has lost five of his last ten matches and while he is still playing some great darts, he might be getting a bit frustrated. He beat Littler at the Grand Prix and then went down tamely to Aspinall. Losses to the likes of Edhouse and Heta have been disappointing.

He is a Euro Tour winner in 2026 and this weekend he has got a leg up into seeded status. Woody has played twelve second round matches and won six. One of his defeats was a 5-6 loss to Rob Cross in ET11.

Superb Form

Cross was superb in a 6-3 win over Super Mario in the first round. Both players averaged over a ton (105.95 for Cross). Cross has won five of his last ten matches, which reflects some inconsistency in his form. He has played five second round matches in 2026 and won the lot.

Their H2H record is 6-5 to Woodhouse. In 2026 it is 1-1, on the Euro Tour 3-1 to Cross.

Cross is the 1.91 favourite, Woodhouse 2.10. The odds look about right. I fancy Cross to do it but it could be a close one, just as it was the last time they met.

2026 Swiss Darts Trophy R2 Tip: 1 point over 9.5 legs @ 2.10 with Boylesports

Martin Schindler vs. Tom Bissell

Bissell won a poor quality match against Joe Cullen yesterday. It was a 6-5 win with both players averaging under 85. He has won four of his last six matches and yesterday was only his second Euro Tour win.

Schindler has also lost six of his last ten matches and on the Euro Tour, he has lost his last five second round matches and his form has deserted him.

These two have met twice and Bissell has won both (on the floor), and both 6-3. After getting a rare win, he may be able to relax and play a bit better. Schindler is lacking confidence and could be vulnerable.

2026 Swiss Darts Trophy R2 Tip: 1 point Tom Bissell to win @ 2.20 with Betfred

Ryan Searle vs. Cristo Reyes

Reyes was 1-3 down against Menzies in round 1, but he got a second wind, just as the Scotsman went off the boil. Reyes won 6-4 and averaged 98.03. He was clearly very happy to end his long losing run on the Euro Tour and make a significant step to making the finals.

Ryan Searle has lost six of his last ten matches and on the Euro Tour, he has also lost six of his last ten matches. Searle has won seven of his twelve second round matches, but one defeat was a 2-6 loss to Reyes.

Their H2H record is 2-2 and both Reyes wins were by 6-2 margins. For this match Searle is the 1.80 favourite, Reyes 2.10.

2026 Swiss Darts Trophy R2 Tip: 0.5 point Reyes to win 6-2 @ 12.00 with Betfred

Ross Smith vs. William O’Connor

O’Connor has become very used to winning his first-round matches on the Euro Tour. He is also quite used to losing his second matches. He has played ten in 2026, and lost seven, including a 2-6 loss to Smith in ET11.

O’Connor has won six of his last ten matches and he is playing well enough, quite consistently in the low to mid-nineties. He has qualified for the European Championships and these European excursions are just about winning prize money.

Ross Smith tops the Euro Tour O.O.M., has reached four finals, winning two. Smith has won eight of his last ten matches and is in great form.

The H2H form between the two is 12-4 to Smith. In 2026 it is 2-1 to Smith and three of their last four matches have ended 6-2, two for Smith and one for O’Connor.

Smith is the 1.44 favourite, O’Connor 2.90. Smith has covered a -1.5 handicap in four of his last five matches with O’Connor.

2026 Swiss Darts Trophy R2 Tip: 1 point Smith to win -1.5 legs @ 1.85 with Unibet
2026 Swiss Darts Trophy R2 Tip: 0.5 point Smith to win 6-2 @ 7.50 with BET365

Chris Dobey vs. Bradley Brooks

Sadly, for our outright selection Niels Zonneveld, Bradley Brooks decided to unleash his A game in the opener yesterday. Both players hit a ton average and hit thirteen 180s between them, but Zonneveld missed a couple of crucial doubles. In a high-quality match, he got found out for it.

Brooks is a very good player, but a founding member of the underachievers club. Of course, the President of that club is Chris Dobey.

Youth Champ

Brooks was World Youth Champion in 2020, and most of the players that win that, go on to great things, but Brooks has remained a fringe player. Occasionally he pops up and has a good run, and he won a Players Championship title last year at 301.00.

His recent form sees five wins from his last ten matches, and yesterday’s performance was his best for a few weeks. His Euro Tour form is sparse. He has played ten second round matches on the Euro Tour over the last six years, and lost them all, including three this season.

Chris Dobey has won seven of his last ten matches and has played some great stuff, on the floor. On the Euro Tour Dobey has played twelve second round matches and won seven (lost five of his last eight).

Their H2H record is 8-4 to Dobey. Brooks won their last match 6-3 in July. They have played out four matches that went to a deciding leg, but the other eight, and last four, have all been very one sided affairs.

2026 Swiss Darts Trophy R2 Tip: 1 point under 9.5 legs @ 1.80 with Hills

Jermaine Wattimena vs. Michael Smith

Michael Smith looked to be pain free in his 6-4 win over Robert Owen. It wasn’t a great match, but a welcome win. He has only played two second round matches in 2026 and won both 6-5. Smith has won five of his last ten matches and so long as he is fit, he can play better than yesterday.

Wattimena has won seven of his last ten matches and is playing some very good darts, and with a good deal of consistency. He has won nine of his thirteen second round matches in 2026, four of them 6-3.

Their H2H record is 11-8 to Michael Smith, but they haven’t played since 2024. Since then, Wattimena has slowed down a little and become a better player, while Smith has been sidelined by illness and injury.

Wattimena is the 1.53 favourite, Smith 2.75. I will have a small bet on the correct score.

2026 Swiss Darts Trophy R2 Tip: 0.5 point Wattimena to win 6-3 @ 6.00 generally available
