Slovakia vs Ukraine Match Preview

Group E looks a bit topsy turvy with both favourites beaten in the opening two games. Slovakia had a great result beating group favourites Belgium and again go into this match as underdogs.

The Slovaks rode their luck a bit against the Belgians with two VAR goal decisions going in their favour, but the match stats in general were quite good for Slovakia. They now have every chance of making the Last 16.

Ukraine got surprisingly hammered by Romania and now have an uphill task of qualifying. They have to play Belgium in their final group match and that won’t be easy.

This is a MUST WIN match for Ukraine a draw will probably not be good enough. The big question is, are they good enough to get their Euros back on track?  My Ratings have Ukraine by 0.40. This is a tricky one to call as Ukraine must go full steam ahead, whereas Slovakia will be happy to wait for a Ukraine mistake.

The last meeting between these two nations was in 2018 and Slovakia won that match 4-1. The value lies with them on this occasion.

Poland vs Austria Match Preview

This may not be the “Group of Death” but try telling Poland that. They lost to the Netherlands and they now have “in form” Austria, then France to play.

Poland’s positives going into this match are that they had more shots on target than the Dutch and that they played the early game on Sunday, whereas Austria played at 8pm on Monday night. They didn’t play too bad against the Dutch, but this is another very tough match.

Austria played well against the French, having an impressive 51% possession, and lost to a freak own goal. Punters were not put off by their loss to the French and they remain 85.0 to win the Euros.

There is a lot to like about this Austrian team and if they can get out of this tough group, they have every chance of being a live outsider to lift the trophy.

Whoever loses this match is out of the tournament, and even a win doesn’t guarantee making the last 16 of the competition. Facing final games against France and Holland respectively is not an easy task.

Tipping in this match is fairly easy as I see Austria as a quality side and I fancy them to get the job done.

Netherlands vs France Match Preview

The betting line has moved due to the news that France’s Star Player Kylian Mbappe has a broken nose and may, or may not, play in this match. If he plays, he will wear a mask. If he doesn’t play, then we may not see him until the knockout stages of the tournament.

The Netherlands come into this match knowing they have a fair crack at the French. They have had an extra day’s rest and recovery compared to France. The Dutch know they have a tough match against Austria in their final match so for them, it is vitally important to take at least a point.

France come into this with their star player having a broken hooter and after having a tough Monday night match. Their preparation has been far from perfect. There is still plenty of class in this French team besides Mbappe and they play open football, so that should make for a good end to end match.

A draw would suit both teams and if they’re drawing with 10 minutes to go, then both teams will be happy to take a point and move on.
