NFL Week 10 Predictions and Betting Tips
NFL Week 10 Predictions and Preview
The Giants got the W for us last week against the Raiders. Their defense was top notch again and they did just about enough on offense to deserve a 7 point victory. Dave Stevos’ has another couple of bets for you this week. Check out his NFL Week 10 Predictions and preview below.
Sunday 6.00pm: Atlanta Falcons (4-4) @ Dallas Cowboys (6-2)
America’s team are more often than not under-priced and this week they are 8 point favorites to make home advantage count against Matt Ryan and the Falcons. The visitors are 4.26 on the moneyline with Pinnacle and that looks a very generous price. The Cowboys were well beaten by the Broncos last weekend (30-16) and they only had 4 points to spare previously against the Vikings. They failed to score in the first three quarters in that Broncos loss and they failed to gain short yardage on 4th down when deep in Broncos territory more than once.
Matt Ryan had a huge game against the Saints last time. The veteran QB threw for 343 yards, two TDs and he had no interceptions. He even managed to rush for a TD! Teddy Bridgewater had some big passing plays against the Cowboys in GW9 so you would think that Ryan will fancy his chances of having another big day today. The Cowboys are in the bottom 10 when it comes to yards conceded per pass (7.8) and that bodes well for the Falcons.
Patterson Key
Cordarrelle Patterson could hold the key to victory. The Falcons’ utility man can rush and receive and he racked up 136 yards against the Saints. Only 10 of those came on the ground though and if the Falcons are going to win this they need to be more effective rushing the football. The Cowboys really struggled to stop the run against Denver and if Patterson can perform like he did when rushing for 54 and 60 yards in the wins against the Jets and Dolphins, the Falcons could pull off an upset.
The Cowboys have conceded 20+ points in 6 of their 9 games this season. They have a better balance offensively than the Falcons but they went 0/4 on 4th downs against the Broncos and that will hardly do much good for their confidence levels. The way the Broncos rushed against them suggests that the Cowboys defense has a soft centre and hopefully the Falcons can take full advantage. Back the Falcons on the moneyline at odds of 4.26 with Pinnacle.

Sunday 9.25pm: Seattle Seahawks (3-5) @ Green Bay Packers (7-2)
The Seahawks have failed to win in Green Bay since 1999. Since then they have lost nine times at the Packers and they have won just 5 of 15 against them overall. Last season, the Packers prevailed 28-23 but I think the Seahawks could be worth backing against them today at 2.50 on the moneyline with Pinnacle. As we move into the second half of the season, things are getting serious for Pete Carroll’s team. The Seahawks are still in with a shout of a Wild Card spot but they can ill afford to lose many more matches.
The Packers’ signature win this season came on the road against the Arizona Cardinals. It was a good display but the Cardinals didn’t produce their best and they could have won it late on. Green Bay lost Aaron Rodgers to Covid in GW9 and they fell to just their second defeat of the season. Rodgers is available for selection tonight but he has not practised all week and that is hardly ideal. Russell Wilson has been sidelined with a finger injury but he is also back on Sunday. He has been out since Week 5 and three of the Seahawks’ five losses came when he was absent.
Who Wants It More?
This match may well come down to who wants it (or needs it) more. There isn’t a huge amount between these teams defensively. In fact, the Packers are allowing 4.6 yards per carry against the rush in comparison to 4.2 for the Seahawks. The Packers have been better against the pass and they’ll need to be tonight because even without Wilson, the Seahawks have been picking up 8.6 yards per pass attempt, the 3rd best in the NFL.
If the Seahawks lose this match it’ll be a huge uphill battle for them to make the play-offs. The Packers are in a much stronger position and a defeat wouldn’t do as much damage to their play-off prospects. Seahawks’ running back Chris Carson remains sidelined but with Wilson back pulling the strings, they are worth backing at odds of 2.50 with Pinnacle on the moneyline.
