Saturday Ayr Racing Tips and Preview ITV4 Races
Tips and Preview of All ITV4 Live Races At Ayr
Things didn’t go to plan for us at the Curragh last weekend and it was a struggle. None of my selections managed to reach the money, though at least Soul Search managed to run a decent race. The Ayr Gold Cup is the big race of the day this Saturday and it is live on ITV4. With a Group 3 and another couple of handicaps on the card, it should be a good day of racing . Saturday Ayr Racing Tips: 2.00 Handicap (Class 2)
The first live ITV4 race at Ayr on Saturday is an 8f handicap and 11 will go to post. Kynren is the 11/4 favourite for the Barron/McDonald combination. He has run 4 cracking races in defeat in valuable handicaps his season and his turn is surely close. He handles all sorts of ground but he remains 16lb above his last winning mark. It is hard to argue that he is a well handicapped horse and he could find one too good again.
The one I like at a nice each way price is Club Wexford for Roger Fell and Ben Curtis. This former Jim Bolger trained son of Lawman loves it at Ayr. He is 2/2 here on good ground , off 82 for Curtis and 88 for Ben Sanderson. Club Wexford is now rated 93, but the form of his last win at Ayr suggests that he can still be competitive off his current mark. He beat Nicholas T by almost 1L and he won his next two on the bounce. Fell is 10/58 at Ayr, with a further 17 top 4 finishes and he had one touched off here on Friday. At odds of 10/1, Club Wexford is the each way pick.

Ayr Preview Saturday: 2.40 – Ayr Silver Cup (Class 2)
25 will go to post in the Silver Cup, the consolation race for those who missed the cut for the big one. In the Bronze Cup on Friday the first 4 home were drawn 9, 13, 7 and 12. That suggests that it might pay to concentrate on those with a low draw in this race. Flying Pursuit is well handicapped and has a lovely starting position in stall 6. However, he needs it soft to show his best.
A 3yo in Snazzy Jazzy won this last year and Red Balloons could go well for the younger generation this time. This son of Kyllachy will love the ground and he has a great draw in stall 8. His last two runs over 6f on gd/fm resulted in an easy win at York off 87 and a 4L 3rd in a Group 3. Both his career wins have come on good to firm and with the breeze and the hot sun drying the ground, he should get his optimal conditions. At odds of 28/1 with 6 places available, Red Balloons is the each way pick.

Saturday Ayr Racing Tips: 3.15 – Firth Of Clyde (Group 3)
This 6f Group 3 for Juvenile fillies has attracted a field of 10. It looks a wide open contest and Orlaith is the favourite at around 7/2. This filly has the best form in the race and won a Listed heat at Newbury last time (5f gd/sft). By Fastnet Rock, quicker conditions should pose no problems and with a rating of 100 she sets the standard. Piece of Paradise is 13/2 but she is unlikely to run after winning here on Friday.
Al Rasmah may only have one run under her belt, but it was an eye-catchingly good one. She scored at Chester on debut and she did it the hard way. A shade slowly away she couldn’t make use of her good draw. However, when she picked up down the outside a furlong out, she put the race to bed impressively. It looked like she had a lot more left in the tank and Tony Hamilton keeps the ride. At odds of 8/1, Al Rasmah could be a filly with a big future and she is worth/ backing each way.

Ayr Racing Preview: 3.35 – Ayr Gold Cup (Class 2)
The Ayr Gold Cup is the biggest flat race of the season held at the track. A maximum of 25 are due to go to post and I like the chances of one at a huge price. Barbill can be backed at 33/1 and at those odds, he must be worth a flutter. The 3yo son of Zebedee ran a lovely race in a Group 3 behind Waldfpad at Newbury two starts back. He was beaten a similar distance (3L) back in handicap company last time at Ascot (6f gd). However, the run that makes him of interest here was his last outing on proper fast ground.
Barbill ran a cracker behind Pass The Vino at Newbury (6f gd/fm), finishing 1.5L off the winner in 5th. He was only 3l behind Sergei Prokofiev in a G3 at Newbury last season too (5f gd/fm) and while he has won on soft, arguably his best performances have come on good or better. Nathan Evans is 1/11 when riding for Channon with a further 6 top 4 finishes. Channon does well on his raids to this track too (46/334) with a 14% winning strike rate. From a good draw in stall 6 Barbill is the each way NAP of the day at odds of 33/1.
