Saturday Evening Czech Darts Open Preview

James Punt went 2/3 last night at the Czech Darts Open, including a winner at 6.50. Check out his 2023 Saturday Evening Czech Darts Open betting preview and tips below.

Danny Noppert vs. Jose De Sousa

Noppert has won five of his last ten matches and he has only lost one of his seven Euro Tour second round matches. That was in the very first one back in February. He has reached one semi-final and three more quarter finals. He is a very steady player, averages 94.23 in 2023. Noppert is not one of the very heavy scorers but his consistency keeps him competitive.

Jose de Sousa is showing signs of a return to form and he averaged 98.15 in a 6-4 win over Bradley Brooks. His seasonal average is 93.18 which is well short of his 2021 average of 97.50. He has won eight of his last ten matches, one of them the final of PC10. That is great form despite not being at his best.

De Sousa Dominant

Their H2H form is 5-1 to The Special One and he has won their last five. However, their last match was back in 2021 and clearly De Sousa has slipped back since then. That said, he will be feeling confident on the back of winning plenty of matches and facing someone who he has a good record against will also help.

Danny Noppert is the 1.62 favourite with De Sousa 2.30.

I’ll take a chance that De Sousa can continue his good run of form.

2023 Saturday Evening Czech Darts Open Tip: 1 point Jose de Sousa to win @ 2.30 with Boylesports, Fitzdares

Rob Cross vs. Madars Razma

Razma overcame the home crowd to defeat the out of form Adam Gawlas 6-3 yesterday. It was a good performance, averaging 94.97. He has won five of his last ten matches and half of them have seen sub 90 averages, so his form is not great. His seasonal average is just 89.98 and he is not a model of consistency.

Rob Cross must be getting fed up hauling his arse all over Europe and going home early. He has played seven second round matches and lost three. Overall, he has played fourteen Euro Tour matches and won seven, a poor return for a player of his calibre.

He has lost six of his last ten matches and you have to go back to ET3 to find the last time he won two matches in a row, that’s nearly six weeks ago.

These two have met twice before and it is one win each. Their last match was in ET9 in 2022 and Razma won that 6-4. Razzmatazz only averaged 87.81 in that match, Cross 94.13. Cross was very poor on the doubles that day, but that part of his game has been pretty good recently.

2023 Saturday Evening Czech Darts Open Tip: 1 point Razma to win +2.5 legs @ 1.80 with Boylesports

Peter Wright vs. Brendan Dolan

Wright has lost seven of his last ten matches as his slump continues. He has taken a lot of punishment in the Premier League but he hasn’t done much better on the Euro Tour. He has played in all seven events and won a total of five matches.

Of his seven second round matches, he has won just three. He does find his A game now and again but only four of his last ten matches have seen an average above 95, six have been 90 or worse.

Brendan Dolan has won six of his last ten matches and has a 66% win rate in 2023 compared to 44% for Wright. It has to be said that Dolan doesn’t travel well. He has played in six Euro Tour events in 2023 and won three matches, including his 6-4 win over Jelle Klassen yesterday.

They have played each other 23 times with Wright winning 17, Dolan 7. They haven’t played for nearly two years and Dolan hasn’t beaten Wright since October 2019.

Wright is very opposable right now, but I’m not sure Brendan Dolan on the Euro Tour is the man to oppose him with. No bet.

2023 Saturday Evening Czech Darts Open Tip: No Bet

Michael van Gerwen vs. Mike de Decker

De Decker beat Ian White 6-4 yesterday, averaging a decent 96.30. He is a player that has been around for a while but is only starting to develop into the player he has threatened to be. His seasonal average is up to 93.76. He has won five of his last ten matches but lost four of his last six.

Michael van Gerwen has won seven of his last ten matches, won in Belgium last weekend and his worst performance was a 97 average in a 6-5 win over Martin Schindler. He did survive a match dart in that match but he deserved his title. He has played six second round matches and won five.

Their H2H record is 5-0 to MVG. Mighty Mike is the 1.26 favourite and even at 4.60, De Decker makes little appeal. No bet.

2023 Saturday Evening Czech Darts Open Tip: No Bet

Joe Cullen vs. Karel Sedláček

Evil Charlie got a 6-5 win over Jeffrey Spaidaan last night to the delight of the home crowd. This is a much harder task. That was only his fourth win in his last ten matches and ended a run of five straight defeats. Eight of his last ten matches have seen sub 90 averages.

Joe Cullen has won five of his last ten matches but he hasn’t really shone on the Euro Tour this year. He has lost four second round matches and won just six of his thirteen matches. He is the 1.36 favourite and Sedláček 3.50.

We’ve done alright backing Evil Charlie in the past, but his form isn’t good enough this time. No bet.

2023 Saturday Evening Czech Darts Open Tip: No bet

Luke Humphries vs. Ross Smith

Hopefully Humphries can join our other ante post selection in the third round tomorrow, but this is a tough match to open his campaign. Smudger averaged 99.3 in his 6-3 win against Jani Laurila last night. He hit seven 180s and when he plays like that, he is very dangerous.

Humphries has won eight of his last ten matches and reached three Euro Tour finals this year. He has beaten Smith in five of their previous seven matches. In 2023 it is 2-1 to Humphries and he beat Smith 6-3 in ET6 just two weeks ago. That was their first best of eleven leg match to feature less than ten legs.

2023 Saturday Evening Czech Darts Open Tip: 1 point over 9.5 legs @ 1.91 with Ladbrokes, Boylesports

Jonny Clayton vs. Martijn Kleermaker

Kleermaker beat Stephen Bunting 6-3 last night, taking his chances well. It was a solid 95.67 average. He beat Ross Smith 6-4 last week before losing his second round match 1-6 to Nathan Aspinall. He has won seven of his last matches so he is in decent form and his scoring is picking up.

Clayton has lost five of his last ten matches but he rarely puts in a duff performance at the moment, he has just run into great players, playing great. His 4-6 loss to Dirk van Duijvenbode was one that he should have won but that apart, he can be happy with his form.

They have met twice before and it is 1-1. Both were close matches. A 6-5 win for Jonny in 2021 and a 6-4 for Kleermaker in 2022. Clayton is the 1.22 favourite, and this is not a betting match for me.

2023 Saturday Evening Czech Darts Open Tip: No bet

Dimitri van den Bergh vs. Stefan Bellmont

Stefan has finally worked out Euro Tour first round matches, winning back-to-back last week and this. Cracking the second round might take as long as it did for him to get a first round win.

Van den Bergh is in poor form, losing seven of his last ten matches. He has won four of his ten Euro Tour matches in 2023 so he is vulnerable, but surely he will be too good for Bellmont?

Dimitri is the 1.25 favourite and given his form he can’t be backed, but Bellmont doesn’t make enough appeal even at 4.33. No bet.

2023 Saturday Evening Czech Darts Open Tip: No bet
