Sunday Evening Czech Darts Open Preview
We got back on track on Sunday afternoon with some nice winning bets. James Punt is back with one more preview for the quarter finals, check out his Sunday Evening Czech Darts Open tips below.
Rowby-John Rodriguez vs. Jose de Sousa
Both players won 6-5 in their third-round matches, and this might be another close one. Rowby- John has won seven of his last ten matches and is playing well enough. We haven’t seen his A game yet, but mid 90s has been good enough so far. De Sousa averaged 98.3 in his 6-5 win over Justicia, but that wasn’t enough to give him any breathing room.
De Sousa has played in no less than fourteen quarter finals in the last 12 months and won eight. However, he has lost six of the last eight. That reflects the way in which his game has stalled.
De Sousa will be the favourite here, being the more experienced and successful player, but Rowby-John has the cockiness of youth, and he is not under any pressure. Neither player looks likely to dominate and two of their three matches have ended 6-5.

Luke Humphries vs. Michael van Gerwen
Seconds out…round 3!
This the third time these two have met on the Euro Tour in 2022. Humphries won the first 7-0 and MVG the second 7-2.
Humphries beat Dimitri van den Bergh 6-4 earlier but while it was a good win and a gritty performance, it wasn’t a great performance, averaging 90.9 with 35% on the doubles. He said he felt relaxed, but nothing really went right. It will have too here.
MVG made very hard work of beating Mickey Mansell 6-5. He averaged 108.5, compared to 90.8 for Mansell. However, Van Gerwen kept on missing doubles and letting Mansell back into the game. It was sloppy and he can’t afford to play like that again.
Their H2H record is 7-2 to MVG and MVG must be fancied to improve on that, but he inspires less confidence these days. Van Gerwen is the 1.50 favourite, Humphries 2.45 but this is not a match which is getting the juices flowing betting wise. No bet.
Sunday Evening Czech Darts Open Tips: No bet
Rob Cross vs. Ross Smith
Cross didn’t have any trouble beating Ricky Evans 6-2 earlier. Rapid was a shadow of the player we saw yesterday, and Cross kept his unbeaten record against him intact. It was a low quality match and as far as Cross goes, it was a win and no more.
Smith beat a disappointing Chizzy 6-4 in the third round. Chisnall took a long time to get going but unlike yesterday, he couldn’t pull off another comeback win. Smith averaged 91.7 in a fairly ordinary performance.
Cross leads the H2H 5-3 but since 2020 it is 2-2. The last four have all been close affairs with no more than a two-leg margin.

Adam Gawlas vs. Vincent van der Voort
The home crowd favourite came from 1-4 down to win 6-5. Searle was struggling to hit the 20’s all match long, drifting into the one bed way too often and he should have had the match done and dusted, but allowed Gawlas the time to play himself into the match and an unlucky bounce out handed the chance for the Czech player to win and he did. Searle ended up with just an 86.77 average and it was a match he lost. Will the crowd carry Gawlas yet again? Perhaps.
Van der Voort had little difficulty beating Adrian Lewis 6-3. Lewis was never in the match and Vinny just coasted, averaging 88.5, but he looked more comfortable than that.
Youth vs Experience
We have the youngster playing his first Euro Tour quarter final in front of an adoring home crowd, and a rather grumpy Dutchman who hasn’t won a Euro Tour quarter final since 2019.
There shouldn’t be any pressure on Van der Voort, anything he gets these days is a bonus while Gawlas will be in danger of getting ahead of himself and thinking of the title. That said, Gawlas couldn’t hope to have a better chance of making his home semi-final, but the same could be said for Van der Voort.
Van der Voort is the 1.70 favourite with Gawlas 2.20. I have no idea of what to make of this match and will happily leave it alone.
