World Cup Darts Friday Preview and Tips
These opening round of first round pairs matches are not the most competitive of affairs. There are mismatches galore and we can expect some drubbings. Some will be tempted into big accumulators but I will resist that temptation as there is always one that lets you down. You can see my outright preview here, selected World Cup Darts Friday tips are below.
Poland vs. Portugal
Basically a De Sousa vs Ratajski match up. The deciding factor should be the relative strengths of the number twos and Krzysztof Kciuk gets the nod as the more able. Poland are the 1.50 favourite but I think we can back them on the handicap.

Spain vs. South Africa
Can the out of form Devon Petersen carry his teammate to an unlikely victory? I doubt it. Justicia and Martinez are no more than journey men players but Spain have had some big results in the past and they do up their game for this.

Ireland vs. Thailand
Ireland are the 1.04 favourites here and that suggests that they should win at a canter. Thailand have never won a match but only lost one of their five to nil. Ireland are better opposition than they have faced in the past but the O’Connor and Keane Barry pairing are not firing on all cylinders, so the Thais may get something on the board.

Belgium vs. Finland
Another mismatch. The Belgians love their World Cup of Darts and I fear for Finland. These two Belgians played Finland featuring Marko Kantele in 2018 and won 2-0 in the second round, losing just 1 leg across the two singles. This Finnish team looks a little weaker.
