2025 German Darts GP R2 Preview & Tips – JP
2025 German Darts GP R2 Preview
James landed three winners from five bets yesterday, he’s hoping to do even better on Sunday. Check out his 2025 German Darts GP R2 preview and tips below.
Danny Noppert vs. Madars Razma
Razma did enough to beat Robert Grundy 6-3 in a low key match. He has won six of his last ten matches and is playing OK.
Noppert reached the semi-final of PC14 on Tuesday and he has won seven of his last ten matches. All very Noppert.
Their H2H record is 6-2 to Noppert and he is the better player, but Razma usually makes him work for the win. Of their eight matches, all best of eleven legs, six have required ten or more legs.
2025 German Darts GP R2 Tip: 1 point over 9.5 legs @ 2.00 with Betfair, SKYBET
Damon Heta vs. Ryan Joyce
Heta won PC13 on Monday and has won nine of his last ten matches. That sounds a lot better than it is, he was no better than OK when winning on Monday, but it will help with his confidence.
Ryan Joyce managed to forget his darts shirt but was able to overcome the East European qualifier 6-1. That was no more than a practice match. He has won five of his last ten matches and isn’t playing great, but he was runner up in ET a couple of weeks ago.
Just arriving is a big step for Joyce and he does know how to take his chances. He also knows how to beat Damon Heta and is 5-1 against the Aussie (not including the Home tour). The only match Heta won was in a Players Championship final which ended 8-4.
Heta is the 1.73 favourite, Joyce 2.20. Given their H2H record, I’m happy to back the unfashionable Joyce at odds against.
2025 German Darts GP R2 Tip: 1 point Ryan Joyce to win @ 2.25 with Betfair
Andrew Gilding vs. Gian van Veen
Gian kicked off with a 102.47 average and a 6-2 win over Rene Eidams. He has won seven of his last ten matches and is playing nicely.
Andrew Gilding was a semi-finalist in PC13 on Monday. He could have lost to Hempel and Hopp, but manged 6-5 wins and he played some good stuff, if not entirely convincing. He has won seven of his last ten matches and he too is playing well.
These two have only met once, earlier this week in fact, and Gilding won that 6-5. He was 75% on the doubles which allowed him to survive Gian’s better scoring.
Gian van Veen is the 1.44 favourite and there is no great value here no bet.
2025 German Darts GP R2 Tip: No Bet
Ryan Searle vs. Cameron Menzies
Cameron Menzies made hard work of beating Kevin Doets, but it was a welcome 6-4 win in the end. He just took a bit of time to get his motor started. He has won eight of his last ten matches but hasn’t really shown his best consistently enough. That said, it is all about winning and he has more gears to show.
Ryan Searle has not been in great form and while he has won six of his last ten matches, his performances have been inconsistent. He has won two of his three first round matches on the Euro Tour and played very well, but he hasn’t made the final day.
Heavy Metal has been elevated to seeded status this weekend thanks to three withdrawals, and that is interesting. He has been in a bit of huff about the new qualifying criteria which has meant that he has had to enter at the first round stage in the first three events. Now he has the chance to make the most of being a seed.
Their H2H record is 2-0 to Searle, including an 8-3 win in the final of PC4. Searle is the 1.91 favourite Menzies 2.10. We are on Menzies outright and that is enough interest in this match for me. No bet.
2025 German Darts GP R2 Tip: No Bet
Josh Rock vs. Scott Williams
Williams did his thing in round one. Put him on a stage with a nice crowd and he improves by a factor of ten. Yes, Nijman has not been convincing lately, but neither has Williams. It was the Englishman who only averaged 94.84 but he won 6-4 and he just performed better.
He seems to be able to convince his opponents that he will beat them, and so it proved. Williams was 2-0 up but went 4-3 down before winning three in a row, winning the match with a 23 dart heart breaker for Nijman.
Josh Rock is one of our outright selections and he has been playing great, way better than Williams. Rock has won ten of his last thirteen matches, hitting ten ton plus averages along the way. He did have a blip on Tuesday, losing 2-6 to Robert Grundy, but hopefully that will have bucked his ideas up. He very rarely plays that poorly.
Their H2H record is a rather convincing 7-0 to Rock and he is the 1.48 favourite to make it 8-0. They last met a couple of weeks ago, in the final of PC10, which Rock won 7-5. I never take Williams lightly, and having backed Rock outright I am not inclined to get involved here.
2025 German Darts GP R2 Tip: No Bet
Rob Cross vs. Ricardo Pietreczko
Has Pikachu turned a corner? He has started showing some better form and has now won eight of his last ten matches. That is a huge improvement on what he has been doing for quite some time. His consistency is not great, but he is definitely enjoying playing darts a lot more than he was even a couple of weeks ago.
Pietreczko has lost all three of his second round matches on the Euro Tour this year, but to be honest, he did well to win three first rounds. He averaged 106 in his 6-1 win over Adam Paxton yesterday and he loved it, as did the home crowd.
Rob Cross is my nemesis. I cannot call him at all. He is a great player, but back him to win and he has a stinker, back him to lose, he plays great. I can’t remember the last time I had a winning bet in a Rob Cross match. If I backed him just to turn up, he would be a late withdrawal.
Pietreczko is the 2.88 outsider, which suggests the bookies are already wise to his uptick in form. I will adopt the defensive position and pass on this one.
2025 German Darts GP R2 Tip: No Bet
Michael Smith vs. Krzysztof Ratajski
Ratajski ruined our bet on Suljovic by hitting a 129 checkout to win 6-5. He was the better player but allowed Suljovic back into the match and very nearly lost. The Polish Eagle has lost six of his last ten matches and while he was delighted to end a run of five straight losses yesterday, his confidence will still be fragile.
The same could be said about Michael Smith. The former World Champion. He has won seven of his last matches as he continues to try and regain his form. He is starting to look like a frustrated figure.
Smith reached the semi-final of PC14 on Tuesday and I wonder if he has seen that has a good result, or a chance missed? Smith is playing some good stuff but lacks the consistency to think that he can win titles.
Their H2H record is 10-5 to Smith but they have only played three matches in the last three years.
Smith is the 1.83 favourite, Ratajski 2.08. Smith has won two of his three opening matches on the Euro Tour in 2025 but got no further than the third round. He should win this but there must be better bets around.
2025 German Darts GP R2 Tip: No Bet
Joe Cullen vs. Mickey Mansell
It is a terrible imposition to make Cullen travel to the continent to play darts, but here he is. He has lost seven of his last ten matches and apart from the odd flash of talent, he is playing poorly.
Mansell beat Ritchie Edhouse 6-4 yesterday in a match that was both poor and not played in a great spirit. Edhouse was clearly not happy with Mansell taking his time to retrieve his darts and getting very close to the oche on his way past Edhouse. Mansell can be a bit of a prat at times.
Mansell has won seven of his last ten matches but has had five sub 90 averages in those ten.
Two players in poor form? Their H2H record is 4-4 which isn’t a great help. They have only met once in the last four years, with Mansell winning 6-2 eleven months ago.
Cullen is the 1.73 favourite, Mansell 2.25.
There is just enough value in Mansell’s odd to warrant a bet.
