Luke Woodhouse vs. Conor Scutt

Woodhouse has won seven of his last ten matches and is playing well. He is a happy player having won his first Euro Tour title and first Players Championship title in the last four months. He is up to 18th in the world rankings, a career best.

Scutt hasn’t quite amounted to the player some were touting. His recent form sees just four wins from his last ten matches, half seeing sub 90 averages. He averaged 75.89 in a 1-6 loss to Ritchie Edhouse last weekend and looked very hacked off.

Their H2H record is 5-2 to Woodhouse and this will be their first match of 2026 and the first on a stage. Woodhouse is the 1.54 favourite but I will take him on the handicap.

Krzysztof Ratajski vs. Adam Gawlas

Ratajski has won seven of his last ten matches, but he has put in some modest performances in those ten. He has struggled against the top players, but the journeymen are meat and drink to him.

Gawlas came through the local qualifier yesterday, averaging 84.14. Gawlas famously reached the quarter final here in 2022 but he never kicked on. He has won five of his last ten matches, excluding yesterday’s local qualifier. At senior level, he has lost seven of his last ten matches.

Their H2H record is 2-1 to Ratajski and Gawlas and the Czech players win was back in 2022, when he was a real prospect. Ratajski gave him a bit of a thrashing in the more recent matches.

Ratajski is the 1.44 favourite and I’ll take him on the handicap.

Dirk van Duijvenbode vs. Mario Vandenbogaerde

Dirk vs. Mario saves time.

Dirk has won six of his last ten matches and played well in most. He does just down tools at times and that is what holds him back. He has blown hot and cold on the Euro Tour and lost five of his eleven first round matches.

Super Mario is a bit of a journeyman pro who has his days in the sun now and then. He reached the final of PC26 last month and played well to do so. Since then, he has played eight and lost four. One of those defeats was 3-6 loss to Dirk, despite Mario averaging 105.74. That was the of their four matches not to require a deciding leg.

Martin Schindler vs. Rob Owen

Schindler is struggling to win matches, losing five of his last ten, but he is scoring well. He has had just one sub 94 average in his last ten. On the Euro Tour he has lost his last five matches. His doubling has been poor in six of his last ten matches and he lost four of those.

Rob Owen is an infrequent visitor to the Euro Tour. He has lost eleven of his seventeen Euro Tour first round matches over the years, including a first-round exit here in 2022. Owen has won his two first round matches in 2026, beating Cullen and Gilding, both 6-5. He doesn’t have the fire power of Schindler and only two of his last ten matches have seen 94+ averages.

Schindler is the better player but has been choking on his doubles too often to make him a banker. He is the 1.57 favourite, but the money is going down on Owen who is now a 2.38 shot.

Their H2H record is 4-2 to Schindler and the German has inflicted two 6-0 wins over Owen, including their only Euro Tour match, way back in 2018. It is not making any great appeal. No bet.

Daryl Gurney vs. Beau Greaves

Gurney really needs to win this match. He is in danger of missing out on the European Championships and slipping further down the rankings.

Superchin can make a decent wage residing in the top 32, but it all becomes a scrap outside of that. He saw his place in the World Matchplay slip through his fingers and he failed to qualify for the first time in ten years.

Daryl has lost five of his last ten matches and his scoring is poor. Just three of his last ten matches saw 93+ averages. He has lost his last three matches 5-6, which looks like a sign of nerves to me. He is losing to some very ordinary players, including a local qualifier last week.

Ton Plus Will Do

Beau Greaves was only making her Euro Tour debut last weekend and while she lost, it was in the deciding leg to Rob Cross. Greaves averaged 104.88 and anything close to that tonight and she wins. She has won a Players Championship title in 2026 and is the better player of the two.

Beau Greaves is the 1.62 favourite with Gurney 2.30. They have met once with Gurney winning 3-2 in this year’s World Championship. Since then, Greaves has got her tour card, is playing the men on a regular basis, and beating many of them.

Rob Cross vs. Keane Barry

We backed Cross last week and he started brightly with back to back ton averages, but he just flopped against Dirk van Duijvenbode in the third round. Cross has won eight of his last ten matches and is playing well but just had two brain farts.

Keane Barry is an expert chip pisser. A coupon buster, but ultimately disappointing. He beat Schindler and Razma in Hungary before rolling over against Chisnall. He has won six of his last ten matches and played some decent stuff.

Their H2H record is 7-2 to Cross, but both Barry’s wins were on the Euro Tour. Two 6-3 wins in 2023.

Cross is the 1.40 favourite, Barry 3.10. Barry is feeling confident and says he is playing better than ever, having shed some timber.

I am going to throw a few quid at another 6-3 win for the Irishman.

Damon Heta vs. Karel Sedlacek

Heta will be up against the home crowd tonight. Sedlacek is the Czech number one and has been playing some good stuff lately. He averaged over 94 across his five local qualifier matches yesterday.

Before that he had won eight of his last ten matches and qualified for the World Series of Darts Finals a couple of weeks ago. He has hit four ton plus averages in his last ten matches and so long as he doesn’t feel the pressure of being the crowd’s favourite, he can give a good account of himself.

Heta has won six of his last ten matches and he too has played some good stuff but is lacking much in the way of consistency. He lost his first round match last weekend to the injured James Hurrell, but he did average 100.

Their H2H record is 4-3 to Heta and on this year’s Euro Tour 1-1. I will have a play on the outsider.

Niels Zonneveld vs. Jeffrey de Graaf

De Graaf has won seven of his last ten matches and is hitting a lot of mid 90 averages. He reached a Players Championship semi-final before the summer break and he is in decent nick.

Zonneveld has won five of his last ten matches but is showing a lot of inconsistency. He had a couple of semi-finals earlier in the season and has won nine of his eleven first round matches.

Their H2H record is 1-1. De Graaf is the 1.91 marginal favourite, Zonneveld 2.00. It looks a bit of a coin toss. No bet.
