Ryan Joyce vs. Kim Huybrechts
A proper, competitive first round match. Joyce has a great first round record in 2026. He has won eight in a row now, half of them 6-3.
Kim Huybrechts has only played in seven Euro Tour events in 2026, but he has won all of his first round matches, four of them 6-3. The Belgian is in good form, winning eight of his last ten matches.
During the summer break he won the Zwaantje Masters event in the Netherlands. He is winning a lot of matches but not beating many top players. Is Joyce a top player? On his day, yes. He has won five of his last ten, and like Huybrechts, he is doing his winning against the lesser lights.
Their H2H record is 5-3 to Joyce but they have only played twice in the last three years. Four of those matches were over 9.5 legs, four under.
It has the feel of a close match, maybe even a decider, but their H2H record says it’s a toss up in that respect. Both like a 6-3 win, but who will win? Huybrechts is the 1.83 favourite, Joyce 2.25. I can see no value here. No bet.

Kevin Doets vs. Ricky Evans
Doets had a nightmare in last week’s opening match, losing 4-6 to a local qualifier and missing thirty one doubles. He will want to put that behind him. Doets has won seven of his last ten matches and reached the final of PC27 a couple of weeks ago. He has had seven sub 92 averages in those last ten and he is not in great form.
Evans got the late call when Wade withdrew. He has won just four of his last ten matches, and one of his defeats was a 5-6 loss to Doets. He rarely gets thumped and with two players struggling with their games, this could be anything.
Evans has won all three of his Euro Tour first round matches in 2026, and made the semi-final of ET8. He beat Doets 6-3 in the quarter final.
Their H2H record is 4-1 to Doets, but they have had three close matches, including that match a matter of days ago.

Callan Rydz vs. Cristo Reyes
Rydz found some good form at the World Series qualifier and has won six of his last ten matches, playing quite well. He played in Budapest last weekend but lost 5-6 to Ratajski in the first round. He has lost seven of his last eight matches on the Euro Tour.
Reyes has won six of his last ten matches and has played some good stuff. He has lost his last four Euro Tour first round matches.
Two players who can be brilliant, but neither are in great form, especially on the Euro Tour. I always say that Rydz’ opponents have two chances to win. They can beat him, and he can beat himself. If I was to have a bet in this, It would have to be on Reyes, but odds of 1.75 are not great. No bet.
