2026 European Darts GP Sunday Preview

We move into the final day of action and James is back with one last preview. Check out his 2026 European Darts GP Sunday tips below.

R2 Reflections

It was a neutral day betting wise yesterday. +2.70 points won in the afternoon and -2.70 point loss in the evening. We also lost two outright selections with Gary Anderson going down tamely to Niko Springer, and Huybrechts losing to James Wade.

That leaves us with the impressive Wessel Nijman and Gerwyn Price, to carry our outright hopes into the final day of action. Today’s matches look very competitive but let’s see if there are any value options.

Joe Cullen vs. Krzysztof Ratajski

Cullen was able to take advantage of Van Veen’s poor form to win 6-3, averaging 91.73. You can’t say that Cullen has played well in his two matches, with a combined average of 89.66. He will need to up his game if he is to make the quarter finals, something he hasn’t done for two years.

Ratajski has played only marginally better than Cullen, averaging 92.01. He has been playing considerably better than that lately and he should be able to up his game, especially on the doubles. The outer ring has been a problem area for him this weekend with a checkout rate of just 31% so far.

Ratajski has reached the semi-final in two of his last five Euro Tour events, including in Munich two weeks ago. Their H2H record isn’t much help, 5-5, and 2-2 on the Euro Tour. Ratajski has won their last two, the last being in the 2025 UK Open.

Ratajski is the 1.73 favourite, Cullen 2.30. I think the market has this one right, No bet.

2026 European Darts GP Sunday Tip: No Bet

Danny Noppert vs. Niko Springer

Noppert made hard work of beating Oskar Lukasiak yesterday. It was a 6-5 win and only an 84.53 average. Maybe he was just dragged down to Lukasiak’s level, but he was in trouble for much of the match.

Noppert lost the final of the German Darts Grand Prix two weeks ago and hasn’t been in good form since, losing both his first-round matches in this week’s Players Championships and then that underwhelming performance yesterday. Like Ratajski, Noppert has been struggling with the doubles.

Hard Call

Niko Springer is a hard call. He was on a run of five straight sub 90 averages but goes up against Gary Anderson and wins 6-2 with a 95.44 average. He is a player who can just catch fire out of the blue.

His form in 2026 has been very ordinary, with a win rate of just 53%. His floor form is poor, but it seems that the Euro Tour events is where he can kick on. He reached two finals last year and beat Danny Noppert in the final of the Hungarian Darts Trophy last September. He also reached the quarter final of this year’s European Darts Trophy.

Noppert’s most recent form is not good, while Springer has largely struggled all season. Home advantage for Springer of course, but his best results have come outside of Germany.

Their H2H record is 1-1, both matches on the Euro Tour, and both went to a deciding leg. Another long match?

2026 European Darts GP Sunday Tip: 1 point over 9.5 legs @ 2.10 with Betfair, Skybet, Betvictor

James Wade vs. Nathan Aspinall

Wade has been in mixed form of late, but he put that behind him yesterday to average 104.15, beat Huybrechts 6-3 and win his first Euro Tour match of the year.

Aspinall didn’t have to do much to beat Jeffrey de Zwaan 6-1, and he has now won eight of his last ten matches and is going for back-to-back Euro Tour titles.

Their H2H record is 13-12 to Wade and he has won six of their last seven meetings. They last met in the final of PC1 in February, Wade winning that 8-6. They have played nine times on the Euro Tour, Aspinall winning five, and winning four of them 6-2.

Aspinall is the 1.73 favourite, Wade 2.20. Hard to argue with and I will have a highly speculative bet on another 6-2 win for The Asp.

2026 European Darts GP Sunday Tip: 0.5 point Aspinall to win 6-2 @ 8.50 generally available

Josh Rock vs. Ross Smith

Both players won their second round matches 6-3 and both played well. Rock has been playing well in Europe, reaching a couple of quarter finals, while Smudger has lost all four of his third round matches. You have to go back to last April to find the last time he got past the third round. It has become a bit of a thing for him.

Their H2H record is 4-3 and they have met just once on the Euro Tour, Smith winning 6-5 back in 2024. Rock is the 1.83 favourite, Smith 2.10. Given Smith’s poor Euro Tour form, I will go with Rock to get the win.

2026 European Darts GP Sunday Tip: 1 point Josh Rock to win @ 1.83 with Betfred

Michael van Gerwen vs. Jermaine Wattimena

MVG didn’t have to get out of first gear to beat a very poor Michael Unterbuchner 6-2 last night. Wattimena was very good in his 6-3 win over Kevin Doets in what was a high-quality match.

When considering a match between MVG and another Dutch player, it is important to look at the H2H record. Some Dutch players still show too much respect to MVG and lose to easily. In this case MVG is 8-1 and they have played three Euro Tour matches and MVG won them 6-1, 6-0 and 6-2. That is pretty comprehensive.

MVG is the 1.54 favourite, Wattimena 2.63.

2026 European Darts GP Sunday Tip: 2026 European Darts GP Sunday Tip: 1 point MVG to win -1.5 legs @ 1.91 with Betfred

Stephen Bunting vs. Wessel Nijman

Nijman has played very well in his first two matches. Two 6-2 wins and a tournament average of 101.23. The Dutchman is in top form, winning nine of his last ten matches and he has already won multiple titles in 2026, including a Euro Tour.

Bunting didn’t need to do much to beat a disappointing Mickey Mansell 6-3. His recent form is inconsistent and he has lost five of his last ten.

Bunting is 4-3 against Nijman and won their last three, all in 2025. Nijman is the 1.62 favourite, Bunting 2.50. That is a fair refection of their recent form and as we are on Nijman outright, I’ll not be having any more interest in what could be a tricky match.

No bet.

2026 European Darts GP Sunday Tip: No Bet

Jonny Clayton vs. Martin Schindler

Schindler looked like he was going to burst a pile when he beat Damon Heta 6-5 yesterday. He certainly drew on the crowd’s support and he was delighted to get a win. Winning is something he hasn’t been doing much of recently, losing six of his last ten. He has lost both of his third-round matches in 2026.

Clayton is in a happy place. All but confirmed for the PL playoffs and he has won eight of his last ten matches. I would say he isn’t in his best form but he stepped up a few gears to average 106.78 to beat the unfortunate Valters Melderis 6-1.

Their H2H form is 9-6 to Clayton and he has won their last three. They played each other eight times last year, Clayton winning six, but Schindler’s two wins were both 6-1 results on the Euro Tour.

On recent form Clayton deserves to be favourite, and he is, at 1.40. I can’t see much value here. No bet.

2026 European Darts GP Sunday Tip: No Bet

Gerwyn Price vs. Chris Dobey

This could be a corker. Two players in good form and capable of hitting big numbers. This is Price’s first trip to Europe since he reached the final of ET2 a month ago. He has won six of his last ten matches and it has only really been Littler who has held him in check. He did have to work hard to beat Dave Chisnall last night, but it was still a 99.41 average.

Chris Dobbey won another floor event earlier this week, so he comes here in top form, but will that be enough? He is a lesser player on stage but he did a number on Captain Weird yesterday, winning 6-2 with 98.18 average. He finished just in time to be able to watch his beloved Newcastle FC get beat…again. Dobey has won twelve of his last thirteen matches. He has reached a Euro Tour semi-final and quarter final in 2026.

H2H

Their H2H record is a comprehensive 23-5 to Price and he is the 1.62 favourite, with Dobey 2.38. They have met three times on the Euro Tour, all of them semi-finals, and Price won two.

If this was a quarter final or semi-final, Price would be a solid bet, but Dobey usually plays well enough in the early rounds, but goes to bits at the business end. As we are on Price outright, I will sit this one out.
